  1. BA has a knack for foreshadowing. His words right before the pitch were “send this one into the seats”. I can remember a handful of times he’s done that this year.
  2. Did the problems really need exposing? I think everyone in the league knows the pen is a dumpster fire. The formula going forward needs to be Albers 6th(or 7th if starter goes 6), Pomeranz, Hader...that's your 3...lean on them Craig. Setting specific pitchers for specific innings is about the worst strategy you can have. Use them when you need them. If the biggest ABs in the game happen to come in the 6th, use Hader in the 6th. Do what you gotta do, no set roles please...
  3. They had to ask the same thing about Burnes. This is becoming a disturbing organizational trend. Organization believes in pitching up in the zone, going to inherently lead to more HR.
  4. I’m sure he has, but even healthy Yelich wouldn’t have scored from first on Pina’s hit. ETA: According to Baseball Reference, Grandal has scored from first on a double 7 times in his career, including once this year. That’s out of 56 times that he has been on first when a double was hit. That wasn’t a double. Pina essentially took second because nobody was covering
  5. How many of Braun’s games have just been as a PH though? Glad he’s had a healthy season, but think GP would be a little misleading.
  6. The defense forcing turnovers is nice to see. I always felt like turnovers were a culture, and a momentum thing. Don’t care if depth chart guys are causing them, it’s a positive sign. J’mon Moore is really in jeopardy of losing his roster spot. The young guys that we have no draft investment in are out performing him. He had at least 3 balls his direction that he didn’t catch. A couple would’ve been real tough catches. The crossing route was behind him. However, at some point he needs to make some plays. Even his catch along the sidelines went through his hands, bounced off his chest, and he caught it off the rebound. Shepard and Lazard both have positive moments. It will be really interesting how the WR battle plays out over the next 3 weeks. Dexter Williams has some burst. Not much running room all night, but he looks explosive.
  7. Good thing is he’s young and missed a bunch of time in the field. His D should improve a little at least as he gets more time.
  8. Going to see Williams for sure so that's exciting. Pomerantz should see a couple innings too. Will be very interesting. I'm guessing Jackson starts? Already announced Pomeranz as the starter
  9. Good. Shaw has had a tough enough year without idiots piling on unwarranted. That seems like an unthinkably terrible idea on Counsell's part. 1st and 3rd, I could see it. In the 8th, the bases are loaded, where is Shaw going to go? The other team is not stupid. So your plan is to try to draw a throw on a play that the other team knows the runner literally cannot advance because there is nowhere to go? I almost hope that Counsell is just making that up to cover for Shaw rather than him actually deciding that was a good idea. He answered multiple questions about it, I don’t think he’s covering. Also don’t think he’d cover for Shaw by throwing Grisham under the bus saying he botched the play by breaking late. They did draw the throw. Even if the Pirates know Shaw can’t advance, they would still try to get the out, which they did. Almost just a reflex when you see someone that far off to make the throw to first.
  10. Counsel confirmed in his post game that it was a called play for Shaw to draw a throw there, but said Grisham broke late to home.
  11. After watching the replay again I think that might have been a called play. Shaw ran halfway to second and stood there. It wasn’t a snap throw, Shaw should have been going back by that point if he wasn’t intentionally trying to draw a throw.
  12. I just got home and turn on the TV to see two rockets and then the 3rd out hit to Hiura and held my breath on the throw. Talk about stress after 5 minutes of viewing.
  13. Woah, there’s a number, and it has curves and stuff.... I am smiling during a Brewer game for the first time in a long time.
  14. They usually don’t actually have anything that would constitute a binding contract. They throw that term around a lot, but in our case we never signed anything after the initial two year on set up. We agreed to a price over the phone for our current plan. If asked for the recording of that conversation I highly doubt they could produce it. It takes persistence but when push comes to shove you can get out. In our case it wasn’t overly hard actually. Stick to the programming change being unacceptable.
