  1. Washington sends right-hander Jake Irvin to the mound in game one. Irvin has made six career starts against Milwaukee and has dropped each of his last five decisions versus the Brewers. In 28.2 career innings against Milwaukee, he owns a 6.59 ERA, allowing 36 hits and 15 walks while striking out 22. source Chad Patrick makes his third start of the season and his first ever against the Nationals. Patrick's strikeout rate is down and walk rate is up compared to last season. 25.2% K rate vs 17.9% K rate this year. 8% BB rate vs 10.3% BB rate this year. Patrick had an identical walk rate in April 2025 compared to April 2026, though. Only 9.1 IP, so far. source
  2. Peralta has been below replacement level through three starts, fwiw.
  3. There are no scheduled off days at Brewer Fanatic. We work 365 days a year, just like Aaron Ashby. Here is a recap of three of the best community thread topics from the past week: Brewers: Our biggest weakness... Milwaukee returned much of its core from last season’s 97-win team. Injuries to position players and inexperience in the rotation have some fans wondering if the Brewers' success is more fragile this year. If Uribe or Megill miss time, who takes over high-leverage innings? Will the starting rotation steady itself? And will the team please do something about the left side of the infield? The community's consensus is excitement over the eventual return of Jackson Chourio and Andrew Vaughn. Both sluggers bring right-handed power the lineup has been missing. Milwaukee still ranks fourth in the league in runs scored despite the offense's flaws, both real and imagined. Brewers: How Annoying Are Pat Murphy’s Brewers? Milwaukee has been one of the best regular season teams in baseball since Pat Murphy took over in 2024. But how? The short answer: the Brewers are annoying, at least to their opponents. Willson Contreras, on the other hand... A legendary Brewer Fanatic contributor outlines where the team has excelled relative to the rest of the league. Milwaukee has the lowest swing rate, the best baserunning, the most infield hits, excellent results with two outs and more. All told, the Brewers quantifiably do the little things better than anyone else. Minors: Your 2026 Nashville Sounds The minor league season is underway! The Arizona Complex League starts next month, too. Milwaukee boasts high-end prospects throughout its farm system. The Triple-A club, in particular, includes a number of players who are expected to become big-league contributors in the near future. Brewer Fanatic does an incredible job curating the best interviews and feature stories from every affiliate. For now, come listen to recent conversations with Robert Gasser, Luis Lara and more Nashville Sounds players. It is a great day to be a Brewers fan at Brewer Fanatic! View full article
  4. Only four teams in franchise history with more than eight wins through 12 games. 1976, 1987, 2014 and 2024. This is one of the best ever starts to a season
  5. Oddly, 2001 was one of my favorite seasons. The team was .500 at the end of June. I distinctly remember Richard Hidalgo hitting a walk off home run in the bottom of the 12th against Leskanic who was in his third inning of work. Broke my heart. Sad to see Lopes go. 80 years old. Where does the time go?
  6. 9.7 BB/9 and 2.52 WHIP through three starts. Seems like something needs to get refined.
  7. Brewers are # 1 for highest OBP (.264), most SB (129) and # 2 for runs scored (640) and BABIP (.307) since 2024 with two strikes.
  8. Sonny Gray makes his 21st career start against Milwaukee. Gray had four starts against the Brewers last season, allowing 28 H, 12 ER, 5 BB and striking out 23 over 21.1 IP (5.06 ERA). Brewers had a 2-2 record against Gray last season. Shane Drohan makes his major league debut against the team that drafted him. Drohan has 5.7 BB/9 innings over 151 career innings at AAA. This is a higher walk rate than Miz had throughout his time in the minor leagues. 9. Imanaga, Cabrera, Taillon, Rea and Assad now?
  10. Wes Clarke retirement covered by Newsweek, of all outlets https://www.newsweek.com/sports/mlb/former-astros-brewers-prospect-retires-at-age-26-11485953
  11. Never get in a fight with a person who has less to lose then you.
  12. Relive all 24 regular season HBP against Willson Contreras source
  13. The spikes up slide from Wilson Contreras to David Hamilton seemed like it hurt.
  14. Brewers are only below replacement level at one position through ten games: first base. Bauers at -0.1 bWAR SS and 3B both are 8th best in baseball, so far. bWAR
  15. The Brewers have faced Crochet twice over the past two seasons and won both games. As a member of the Red Sox, Crochet threw 6 2/3 innings allowing 2 ER and striking out 11 on May 26, 2025. Brewers won 3-2. As a member of the White Sox, Crochet threw 6 innings allowing 1 ER while striking out 8 on June 1, 2024. Brewers won 4-3 in ten innings. Milwaukee's current roster has two career extra base hits off Crochet and both belong to Joey Ortiz. source Jacob Misiorowski will make his first career start against the Red Sox. Boston has one active player who has ever reached base against Miz, Wilson Contreras (.800 OBP over 5 career PA). source
  16. Peralta probably hit Siri on purpose. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u4Ad7XEY80A
  17. Grant Anderson for the 8th? We shouldn't want to use Megill or Uribe tonight. I trust Megill would get used, though.
  18. Hamilton at 3B and Ortiz at SS seems best in the near-term.
  19. It has been a volatile futures market for Brandon Woodruff today. He seems perfectly capable of mixing speeds, hitting his locations and keeping hitters off balance enough to be effective. I predict Woodruff provides market value performance in 2026.
  20. Looks like Woodruff was coming back out for the 6th.
  21. Second time for Mitchell, two on and less than two outs.
