  1. Kyle Tucker is worth 10 wins, I guess.
  2. Fixed subject line. Good catch. Rodriguez is announced starter.
  3. 1.83 career ERA with Milwaukee makes his collective performance among the greatest relief pitchers of all time. I agree that he may have the absolute most nerve wracking 1.83 ERA ever.
  4. Burnes has never started again Quintana. Teams are 1-1 when they both appeared in same game, though.
  5. The Brewers have a winning record against the Diamondbacks since 2021, https://stathead.com/tiny/AoApM
  6. Cubs at LAD this weekend. Yamamoto tonight and then Sasaki/Glasnow. Both Sasaki and Glasnow have shown very mixed results over their first 2-3 starts. Phillies at STL and CIN at PIT.
  7. TBD is widely speculated to be Jose Quintana. He has not been particularly effective against Arizona in his career. LHP Eduardo Rodriguez last faced Milwaukee on 9/13/24. Brewers won 2-1. Rodriguez went 5 innings, allowing 5 H, 3 BB and 2 ER with 7 K. Hoskins hit a HR off Rodriguez.
  8. Probably someone like Tyler Black? 🙂🤷‍♂️
  9. I’m disappointed no one has observed we clearly lost the trade after four pitches. 🙂
  10. I still don’t see the Cubs having 2x the potential to win the division compared to Milwaukee. I guess more veterans means more data points to project success.
  11. I think Justin Steele’s elbow seems more worrisome than Cortes’.
  12. Justin Steele getting MRI on pitching elbow and is now in the 15 day DL. Colin Rea will likely join rotation. Or, Cubs may recall Jordan Wicks from Iowa.
  13. I think Hader seeming redundant in 2022 with Devin Williams ready to close played a factor. Milwaukee needs 5+ years of cost controlled talent. In that sense, trading with year of control probably is best.
  14. Milwaukee faced RHP Ryan Feltner twice last year and four times ever with 3.32 ERA against Milwaukee. Feltner has allowed 19 H, 7 BB and 8 ER with 19K over 21.1 IP lifetime against the Brewers. Last time at Milwaukee, Feltner threw 6 IP allowing just one hit, 3 BB and 1 ER. Priester has never faced Colorado but Jacob Stallings and Mickey Monika each have had success against Priester over 3 PA each.
  15. Any reason we haven’t announced Elvin or Chad Patrick as tomorrow’s starter?
  16. Durbin is performing well and Cortes miraculously has lower ERA than Devin today. Advantage: Milwaukee
  17. Jack Flaherty has pitched well, so far. 1.62 ERA over 16.2 IP, including starts against Dodgers and Yankees
  18. Brewers control their own destiny for the division now having the fewest losses 🙂
  19. First place Angels, last place Braves, last place Mariners, third place Dodgers
  20. Injuries happen. DL Hall was effective in his 26.2 IP after the break last year, 3.38 ERA and 10.5 K/9 IP. Durbin has nearly .900 OPS in Nashville, so far. Ortiz was nearly a 3 WAR player last year. He has had a bad 43 plate appearances this year. If he gets 600 PA, this bad stretch would be 7% of his season. If healthy, I bet Cortes has more WAR than Williams this year. It’s not like Williams was always healthy as a Brewer either. Burnes and Williams were never going to help Milwaukee beyond their initial team control. We now have multiple players who will make meaningful contributions for several years.
  21. Milwaukee has not faced Senzatela since 2022. Hoskins has 1.053 career OPS against Senzatela in 11 AB. Yelich is only other Brewer with a plate appearance against Senzatela (12 PA, limited success). Tyler Alexander has struggled against Colorado. 11.57 career ERA in 9.1 IP over three appearances. Alexander started against the Rockies on 4/6/24 allowing 8 H, 2 BB, 4 ER with 4 K over 4.1 IP.
  22. Just observing the Cubs did the right thing by not keeping Bryant, Baez and Rizzo. It is not universally desirable to keep every star player on your team forever.
