Dodgers struggled against Tanner Gordon and even a little bit against Kyle Freeland last week (Rockies). I agree it would be wonderful to have another battle tested starting pitcher now. Dominating the Dodgers does not mean what it used to. .

I was mostly referring to Jake’s 3.60 ERA over 5 IP this year. 🙂 Can save us an inning from the bullpen, if warranted.

Cell phone auto correct doesn’t seem to understand how to spell our closer’s name either.

Peralta has gone six innings his past two starts. He only completed seven innings once this season: on April 2 (8 IP).

How worried are we that someone won’t be able to be placed on the disabled list before tomorrow? 🙂

Sunday’s starter is still TBD. Woodruff and Patrick would be on normal rest. I appreciate Patrick is not on the active roster today.

Angels and Giants are somewhat competitive. The Rockies have actually won series against tough opponents this month too. (Colorado won 7 of 11 against Diamondbacks, Cardinals and Dodgers) Braves won 7 of 10. Nationals won 6 of 10, including two against the Mets and last night against Phillies. I doubt the Rays and Pirates completely roll over in September. Cubs finish the season against Reds, Mets and Cardinals. I don’t expect Chicago will sweep many series.

In fairness to DesertBrew, no one likes blown saves. Last night’s was 95% bad luck, though.

Lockridge misplayed the initial hit. Perkins probably catches it. At a minimum, Lockridge needs to keep the ball in front of him to keep it at a single. Dominic Smith hits the ball off Megill for infield single. If it doesn’t hit Megill, it probably is a ground out. The only mistake I observed is Megill spiking a fastball for the wild pitch. 14 of 17 pitches were strikes. Megill was closer to ‘dealing’ than he was to struggling.

Vaughn has .808 OPS in August. I think Hoskins can give Vaughn a break once or twice per week and produce similar OPS.
