  1. Durbin hitting pretty well in Nashville, performing near his career minor league averages. Monasterio striking out 43% of the time in Nashville and hitting poorly. It is ok for a fan to dream of something better than what Capra/Dunn have shown at the major league level over their combined 161 career AB. There are not many data points of optimism for Dunn or Capra but today is likely another opportunity for Dunn.
  2. Is it silly to think if Misiorowski has another good start, he could be a candidate to take a turn or two in Milwaukee in April or May?
  3. Milwaukee faced Brady Singer on 5/8/24 as a member of the Royals in Kanas City. Singer went 5.1 IP allowing 5 H, 2 BB, 1 ER with 4 K. Singer pitched 7 IP of 1 H ball in his first start at Texas on March 31. I thought Elvin has pitched better than his stats indicate. Not too many walks. Have to imagine Thomas and/or Anderson see game action today?
  4. ‘He has all the tools in the world’ Like bat speed and sprint speed? 🤷‍♂️
  5. Our team doctors seem to do a remarkable job identifying injuries at moments when the bullpen could use reinforcements.
  6. Since Nestor pitched yesterday, maybe they had Carlos Rodriguez nearby in case Cortes needed to leave.
  7. Carlos Rodriguez is on six days rest today. All things being equal, we probably are better off getting three innings from Carlos Rodriguez today. You make a lot of good points, though. @Oxy
  8. Early team batting splits: RHP: .699 OPS (104 PA) LHP: .572 OPS (162 PA) Fun facts: Our LHB have higher OPS against LHP than our RHB. Our LHB have 125 OPS+ against RHP (54 PA) I appreciate it is early and some players will improve toward career averages. https://stathead.com/tiny/vFvmW There are no small samples, only small minds unable to project outcomes with limited data 🙂
  9. Bauers is on four days rest 🤷‍♂️
  10. Three from Alexander, three from Rodriguez then back to Hudson, Koenig and Megill? Or, plan B: Thomas and Anderson soak up innings. Not sure who makes room for Rodriguez? I don’t see how we make it through today without a fresh Rodriguez.
  11. Hadn’t listened to any episodes before yesterday. Long time board member, first time listener.
  12. Adames and Contreras went deep off Martinez on 8/30/34 in Cincinnati. Martinez went 5.1 IP and allowed 7 H, 1 BB, 4 ER and 3 K. Bad news: on 8/10/24, Martinez threw 7 IP of 1 H ball in Milwaukee. Edit: Tyler Alexander gets the start for Milwaukee
  13. This has only happened five other times in MLB history. No team has ever lost four consecutive games 1-0. MLB record is four consecutive games being shutout. https://stathead.com/tiny/LLfVN
  14. Worth a shot 🤷‍♂️ We can always try again with Durbin and Monasterio. Capra has 19 AB Dunn has 7 AB
  15. 86 pitches, let him start the 7th? Is Peguero our first man up?
  16. 75 pitches, I assume let Cortes face the top of the Reds lineup a third time
  17. Caleb Durbin having a fair start to the season in Nashville.
  18. Scam means to cheat or defraud. I think the trade appeared to be fair at the time and likely still is. I doubt any medical information was withheld.
  19. Great job, guys! I had not listened until today. An enjoyable recap of week one.
  20. Fair to assume Megill, Uribe and Koenig are unavailable tonight? Each pitched the last two games. Could we get four innings combined from Hudson Peguero and Payamps? If Cortes goes 5 IP. Save Tyler Alexander to help soak up innings tomorrow?
  21. I think we are done discussing the philosophy of link posting without comments. 🙂
  22. The idea of simply posting a link to a website with no explanation is generally worthless. However, the forum does deserve a thread to discuss injury updates. I like having this thread rather than 13 separate threads to discuss all of our injured players.
