  1. In seriousness, what would ’going for it’ even look like in 2025? We traded for Sabathia in 2008, Grienke for 2011. Moustakas in 2018.
  2. Irrelevant but interesting question (to me): Are there any legitimate reasons Milwaukee should not be the # 1 team on MLB.com Power Rankings tomorrow? Tigers have lost six straight entering today. Brewers have best record against winning teams in all of baseball.
  3. If you hit the ball in the air, that just means the defense has an opportunity to catch it. If they catch it, that means you’re out. Brewers must be onto something with the low exit velocity and launch angle. 🙂
  4. Would we benefit from making a qualifying offer to Cortes? I assume he gets a multi year deal from someone.
  5. Let’s remember we traded one of the best starting pitchers in Brewers history for Ortiz. His 2024 OPS+ was 103 and was nearly a 3 WAR player. Ortiz is probably still a meaningful part of our future. I agree let’s not run a -0.9 WAR player out there every day but I have to believe there is upside for Joey in the second half.
  6. Over his last 71 AB and 30 days, Durbin has OPS of 1.001. I think we can put to rest the idea of upgrading 3B for awhile. For all the drama, Ortiz has .765 OPS over last 72 AB and 30 days, That’s quite a bit better than Dansby Swanson’s 2025 OPS. Im sure we could upgrade the offense by moving Ortiz to a utility role, though. I assume Turang is physically capable of playing SS this year.
  7. Royals are shopping for a new stadium. Local officials aren’t having it, from what I can tell. Frazier and his 83 OPS+ could be categorized as buying. I assume ownership wants to appear competitive. https://fox4kc.com/news/royals-stadium-standoff-sources-slam-kc-leaders-over-lack-of-vision/amp/
  8. The Phillies pitchers miss out on five or six figure performance bonus by not being named to ASG.
  9. Miz’s asking price is probably eight figures higher than it was two months ago 🙂
  10. Brady Ebel, 17-year old 3B @Harold Hutchison Had him predicted as our # 59 pick
  11. I understand the desire to send Abner back out for the 8th. In hindsight, could we have used Grant Anderson in 7th or 8th? Bad pitches happen. Just 25 pitches today in 1.2 IP for Uribe. Probably just bad luck.
  12. Fair to assume Milwaukee is not presently close to exercising their end of the 2026 mutual option on Hoskins?
  13. Myers and Priester seem like a good comparison. 1-2 lottery tickets plus comp pick is different than decent MLB ready bat to help us in 2025, in my opinion.
