  1. Yeah, it's more money and years than I would prefer, but he had 14.8 ppg and 9.4 rpg last season. It makes us a better team now and he'll be getting ~$6.4 mil per season, which is not that ridiculous.
  2. Bucks have agreed to a 5 year, $32 mil deal with Drew Gooden. http://sports.yahoo.com/n...lug=ys-goodenbucks070110 I'd love to see them sign Salmons as well. This team is going to have incredible depth.
  3. Great find!! Thanks for posting. That is really well done.
  4. If anyone is planning on getting the new iPhone, let me just tell you that this thing is amazing. Can't stop playing with it.
  5. I definitely wouldn't mind Hayward, but I would be very surprised if he's around at 15. From everything I've seen, it sounds like there are at least 3 or 4 teams ahead of the Bucks that love Hayward.
  6. WOW... so glad I got to watch the last 20 minutes!!!
  7. Lawrie is a beast right now. I hope he keeps this up and really starts to make some noise. I wonder if he stays hot over the next month if the Brewers would consider a bump to AAA.
  8. You can see Corey Maggette's stats here. Last year he averaged 19.8 ppg, 5.3 rpg and 2.5 apg. EDIT: He has 3 years, $31 million remaining on his contract. If they think he can fill the void that Salmons will be leaving then I think this is a good trade for the Bucks.
  9. Sounds like the Corey Maggette trade just happened. Don't have a link yet, but there are a couple reports on twitter.
  10. Bucks are interested in trading for Corey Maggette. "Now there's some chatter on the NBA grapevine the Bucks may be interested in another small forward - Corey Maggette of the Golden State Warriors. It's no secret the Warriors have Maggette on the trading block - even though he is coming off a quality season in which he was the Warriors' second-leading scorer at 19.8 points a game. He also averaged 5.3 rebounds. But Maggette has a fairly hefty contract - he still has three years, $31 million remaining on it - and the money-conscious Warriors would like to unload it. The speculation is the Bucks are offering the Warriors center Dan Gadzuric, who has one year left on his contract for $7.4M, and guard Charlie Bell ($3.8M)." I wouldn't mind this trade. It would be a big upgrade depth-wise. I've heard in the past that Maggette can be a bit of a ball hog, but if Skiles could get him to buy into his system I think this would be a huge help.
  11. Wow, that's exciting news. The T-Rats are already filled with exciting prospects. I love that they're sending Morris there.
  12. I completely agree that TCU would be a great fit. I have a feeling they'll stay with 10 for now though. I'm kind of surprised after all the hype about the super conferences that this was all the movement that ended up happening.
  13. So basically not old. ?? I don't get what you are trying to say here. You said a #2 couldn't be old, and I listed a handful that were 33+ years of age that clearly have the ability to be a top of the rotation starter. I never said I expect the Brewers to sign a veteran free agent to fill the need in our rotation. Just refuting your point. Age really doesn't have anything to do with a pitcher if they still have the stuff to get hitters out. I'd rather look at numerous other things before age when evaluating a pitchers ability, but apparently age is your top criteria since your answer to "So... what's your criteria for a solid #2 starter?" was "Not old".
  14. Yeah, I certainly wouldn't want an old guy like Roy Halladay, Chris Carpenter, Tim Hudson, Andy Pettitte or Ted Lilly pitching as the #2 for the Brewers. EDIT: Roy Halladay age 33 2010 stats: 8-4, 1.96 ERA, 1.02 WHIP Chris Carpenter age 35 2010 stats: 7-1, 2.66 ERA, 1.12 WHIP Tim Hudson age 34 2010 stats: 6-2, 2.43 ERA, 1.16 WHIP Andy Pettitte age 37 2010 stats: 8-1, 2.46 ERA, 1.10 WHIP Ted Lilly, age 34 2010 stats: 2-5, 2.90 ERA, 1.00 WHIP And again you are pulling out a handful of players when the greater majority will not pitch well past the age of 32. This is like arguing pitchers can easily pitch 140 pitches a game because Nolan Ryan did it. Are any of those guys you listed realistically going to be available to us? My guess would be no. They are likely to be at the top of the class of free agents and paid more than we should be paying for players that age. I was simply replying to you saying that a #2 can't be old, which I completely disagree with. I just pulled a few players off the top of my head and I'm sure there are a bunch more out there. Clearly it is completely possible for an "old" pitcher to be not only a #2, but a #1. "Are any of those guys you listed realistically going to be available to us?" I agree that no they probably won't, but that wasn't your point. You simply said a #2 can't be old.

  16. http://www.raysindex.com/2010/05/2011-tampa-bay-rays-40-man-roster-and-payroll.html The Rays definitely won't have the money to take on Fielder and Hart next year. They plan on keeping the payroll under $60 million. The link above breaks down their estimated payroll for next year. They have it estimated at approximately $48 million after pay raises through arbitration -- and that is assuming they don't resign ANY of there free agents(Carl Crawford, Rafael Soriano, Carlos Pena, Grant Balfour, Pat Burrell, Gabe Kapler, Joaquin Benoit and Randy Choate).
  17. While I would love this trade, there is no way Tampa would do it. They aren't looking to take on payroll.
  18. I'm pretty sure he has to be added this offseason. I'm thinking the date comes sometime in November. Someone else may know more than me though.
  19. Anyone have an idea of what kind of offer will have to be made to get Gibson signed?
  20. Yeah, I'm watching. He has unbelievably nasty stuff. Ridiculous.

  22. Yeah, that's what I was planning on using. But, it's not updating for me. Still only shows the comp round.
  23. Anyone know of a draft tracker to follow the 2nd round?
  24. Wow, I haven't paid a whole lot of attention to Kintzler, but his numbers have been very impressive so far this season. I'll be very interested in seeing what he can do the rest of the year.
  25. "I want to thank Mark Attanasio and Doug Melvin for all they have done for my family and me, especially how they handled this situation. I've played with a number of organizations, and the Brewers are one of the classiest. "When I signed in 2007, I was committed to winning, and to this day I still am. Nobody is more disappointed than I am with how things have turned out. I enjoyed my time here in Milwaukee as both a player and a member of the community. As such, I will continue my involvement with Brewers Charities for the remainder of the 2010 season. My commitment to this cause and the people it serves is unwavering. "I wish the Brewers organization, its fans and especially my teammates all the best." ...from McCalvy
