  1. That's the best looking lineup I've seen in a while, although I wouldn't mind seeing McGehee in there. Hopefully Gamel can continue to hit and keep up his plate discipline.
  2. Salary dump? I'm not sure of everyone's contract status. EDIT: They added a little more info to the article now: "The Bucks incentive to make the trade is largely financial. Bowen, Oberto and Thomas are all in the last year of their contracts. The deal will clear $15 million off the books for the Bucks next season and give Milwaukee more flexibility for next year. It also saves them roughly $3 million this year. That may give the Bucks the wiggle room to sign one of their restricted free agents -- either Charlie Villanueva or Ramon Sessions -- next year."
  3. Please put me in for this drawing, thanks Pedro!
  4. Pedro, thanks again for your generosity. Please put me down as being interested.
  5. But, to be fair, from the start of the season until May 22nd McGehee had a .167/.200/.167 line. Since then he has put up a line of .323/.389/.419 So, pretty much since Weeks went down and McGehee was asked to play more regularly he has done a good job. While I realize he will most likely not keep at his recent pace, I see no reason to assume that Heether would be a significant upgrade and that he should be sent down at this point.
  6. Didn't see this one talked about yet. According to the Chicago Sun-Times, Chicago Cubs outfielder Milton Bradley hobbled off the field and most likely onto the disabled list Tuesday suffered a righth calf strain. EDIT: Yahoo suspects he may be headed to the disabled list, while ESPN says its day-to-day. Cubs website says "Milton Bradley had to leave Tuesday night's 6-5, 12-inning loss after coming up lame in the fourth inning. He is questionable for the rest of the series and could be out much longer."
  7. That was outstanding. I always loved Kiesch.
  8. I would love to lock him up, but I think it is very unlikely to happen. I have a feeling he will be waiting for free agency and then going to the highest bidder, which the Brewers cannot afford to be.
  9. I'd like to see him in there against lefties too. It's not like he couldn't hit lefties in the minors.
  10. I really hope they give Gamel a shot a playing everyday. It will hurt to lose Weeks, both offensively and defensively. I think Gamel has the best shot to replace his offense, not sure about defense. But, it would be nice to add an additional impact lefty bat to the lineup. Who takes over lead off now? Hart?
  11. He has been outstanding. I didn't have much faith in him coming into this year, but he has completely won me over. I have as much faith in him as any other pitcher outside of Hoffman right now.
  12. No doubt, my free time would be and is spent on golf.
  13. Unfortunately, I don't think there is any other option. They should just switch the Brewers to FSN and the Bucks to WMLW.
  14. Wow, I heard the call on the radio, but hadn't seen the clip yet. Just the sound of the ball when it hits Martinez in the head makes me cringe.
  15. I would love a copy of the 2008 Year In Review DVD. I haven't had an opportunity to see it yet. Thanks for the opportunity.
  16. Wow, it is incredibly hard to focus at work today. I plan on working from my apartment during the afternoon in hopes of watching the game while I work. Hope this doesn't get rained out.
  17. I would definitely change your password for every account you have. About one year ago my email account was hacked into. Two days later $360 was withdrawn from my paypal account that I was using the same password for.
  18. Someone told me this in the Fall of 07 and I laughed it off. Is there any truth to this rumor? There's no proof, but I've heard from people in Madison that generally know things that go on inside the University and they've somewhat confirmed it. Not that that makes it true. I had a friend that worked for the Badgers football team tell me about Bielema and Erin Andrews long before I heard the rumors from anywhere else. So I don't doubt it one bit.
  19. I golf just about every opportunity I have along with two of my co-workers. We work in Menomonee Falls so I will definitely consider it.
  20. Go Cal State Northridge! With Memphis as a potential opponent to MU later in the tourney if they keep winning I would love to see this upset happen.
  21. I will definitely be picking it up on my way home after work today...can't wait.
  22. The next tie breaker after head-to-head is the teams record vs. the 1 seed in the Big East, if that is tied it will continue down to the 2 seed, then the 3 seed etc. until one of the teams has an advantage. I put a link to the 2008 tie breaking procedures, I assume they are the same in 2009. Big East Tie Breaking Procedures MU is 0-1 vs. UConn, 0-1 vs. Lou, at Pitt 3/04, 1-0 vs. Prov, vs. Syr 3/07 Nova is 0-1 vs. UConn, 0-1 vs. Lou, 1-0 vs. Pitt, 1-0 vs. Prov, 2-0 vs. Syr So if MU loses to Pitt and Nova wins out, Nova would win the tie breaker. If MU beats Pitt and loses to Syr and Nova wins out, Nova would win the tie breaker. So, basically what it comes down to is MU has to win out, or win 1 game and have Nova lose 1 game. However if MU beats Pitt, then Pitt will have 4 losses in conference as well and MU would have a head-to-head tie breaker over them. Sorry, that got longer and more in depth than I anticipated. Hope it makes sense. EDIT: Villanova at Notre Dame tonight...GO NOTRE DAME!!!
  23. I just left the Marquette campus and its almost like you can feel the energy from everyone around there. Been looking forward to this game for quite a while. Should be a real close game. Hopefully they can get Thabeet in foul trouble and pull out the win.
