  1. I'd rather we put Yeli in the 3 hole and Huira 2nd. And I too hope we see good Anderson again today.
  2. Put Bumgarner on a deserted island with a bunch of web cams tracking his every movement. I'd love to watch him lose his ____ on a daily basis. Biggest spaz in the Majors. Great pitcher, but I couldn't like him less, even if he were on the Cardinals.
  3. Huira should be higher in the line up. He seems like the perfect 2 or 3 hitter. He should be ahead or behind Yelich, imho. I'd put Huira 2nd and Yelich 3rd.
  4. Arcia must have really done something bad to get in Counsell's doghouse. I'm having trouble understanding why Dubon isn't getting this playing time at the ML level, though. Dubon is quite possibly part of the future of this team. Saladino likely isn't. Yes, this might be a possibility. I have no clue what they see in Saladino...
  5. There was an entire thread about Bill being bad, but not many agreed. I’ll take a homer any day. I seen that. I actually have always liked Bill. But..he seem to blame any woes on being unlucky. Cain with an average groundout, not hit that hard but made it seem like Cain is just getting unlucky all year and that, that play was an example of how Cains luck has been. I guess I just dont like excuse after excuse for non production..its been the "thumb" or "unlucky" excuse for Cain. I am a homer too, but come on. Obviously Bill is talking to the casual fan, watching. Pardon my english, Its my 2nd language. No problem. We get what you are saying.
  6. There was an entire thread about Bill being bad, but not many agreed. I’ll take a homer any day. If you want to listen to unabashed homers listen to a Pirate broadcast some time.
  7. That was a pretty good prediction. Wouldn't ya know it? The one night I can't watch the offense breaks out?
  8. If our problems are no Knebel, Jimmy Nelson imploding and still no Brent Suter, what will this team look like in 2020 with Knebel and Suter back and the rest of the roster almost the same? This season has been a major disappointment but I don't think we are that far away from being a contender again.
  9. Yah, the absolute worst part of that deal wasn't the fact it was done...but the fact they did it stupidly early just to lock in essentially what one would know to be decline years. Maybe they thought he would age well, but seemed it was mostly done to have a face of the franchise and have a more modern lifer instead of the aging Yount. Pretty much everything that could go wrong doing such a deal happened; suspension, ruined image, chronic injuries, missed time, production decline. The only reason to extend Yelich is if you wanted to make him a Brewer for the rest of his career. However, doesn't really seem worth it when he didn't even start his career here and he may or may not be a HOF talent. Seems like a good way to set us up to have a bad contract/money pit. You would think having a current "bad contract" on the team and an early extension like Braun's that turned sour before the first day it went into effect would shy people away from this kind of thing. I think it is too late to even get a reasonable extension similar to Braun's where it isn't breaking our small market back. Brewers simply can't afford to throw around upwards of $250mil to a guy into his later 30s. If he continues to play like he has Yelich is a HOF talent and one I wouldn't mind as the face of this franchise over Braun.
  10. Yes, what in the hell is Saladino doing getting all this playing time?? I'd rather they send him to San Antonio and bring back Perez for crying out loud.
  11. This is one hell of a post.
  12. And this is the million dollar question! These guys are much better than the way they have been playing since June came. Even Yelich is starting to strike out too much. Until they figure it out we will be sellers come the trade deadline. It is all so sad...
  13. Brewer fans have to be the most pessimistic bunch around. I suppose this is because we never won anything in our history to speak of but to say the season is over is a tad premature IMO. Our starters haven't been dreadful. We are getting hits but still striking out too much and not getting hits when we have runners in scoring position. Our biggest issue right now is the pen. Outside of Hader who is truly reliable? Burns has to go back to AAA and work out his issues. He has great stuff but what good is it if he can't put the ball where he wants to?
  14. Starters haven't been the problem. They've actually been getting pretty solid starting pitching the last couple weeks. The pen has been the Achilles heel. That said, if Gio can come in and be Gio, it possibly moves Houser back to the pen, where he is sorely needed. THIS! If we want to salvage this season Stearns has to find a couple of arms for that pen.
  15. That wasn't the first time Counsell brought in Hader in the 8th and then had to shut him down the rest of a series. If the only guy in the bullpen who is able to hold a lead is Hader then Stearns better get on the phone...
  16. Yes, why is Counsell so afraid to keep a starter in who is on a roll the 3rd time thru the order??? I don't know what CC sees in Claudio either.
  17. Oh please. Leave Hader out of it. You cannot complain when the best reliver in all of baseball every once in awhile blows a save. Yes, even Hader is human. The rest of the bullpen is the problem.
