  1. I remember that game. Didn't they have to resume the game the following morning because it got so late? I think the Sox won that eventually.
  2. Needless to say this is an important game for the Crew to get off the schnide. They haven't been playing well offensively, defensively and the pitching has been poor.
  3. Reading a post like this reminds me of why we need a like button. Until we fix this pitching mess (both the starters and bullpen) any notions of making the post season let alone having success there is a waste of time. Thanks bro. I appreciate someone not taking offense at a point of view. I usually don't take offense to points of view. We all have opinions. But I'm glad you consider me one of the guys.

It reminds me of why we need a dislike button because it is so obtuse that it is worthless. Are you saying my post about the pitching is so obtuse that it is worthless or the idea of a dislike/like button?
  5. I really have never understood their infatuation with Peralta. He has had a couple of nice games but those are few and far between. He belongs in AAA until he is more consistent.

  7. Most rankings had Savage going in the 2nd or 3rd round. That's where it's coming from. Kudos to Mel Kiper for being in on him that high - but again, most people did not. The disappointment is when there is a belief that the pick is a reach because he would have been available later. It doesn't mean the guy isn't going to be good - no one is saying that. It's a simple belief that the pick was too high. Now, that belief may be very wrong as other teams may have been on Savage in the 1st round as well - but if not, it's disappointing that we gave up resources for a guy who we could have had later. But unless one can see the draft boards of all of these teams no one can really say if any particular player would be available later on or if a pick was too high. I for one will withhold my opinion on any of the kids we take this week until I actually see them play at this level.
  8. J. Alexander isn't the biggest guy out there either.
  9. Gary and Savage weren't exactly the names I had been hoping for, but they're Packers now. I don't mind giving up a pair of 4th rounders to move up...just not sure you had to move up that far. Seems really a stretch to move up for him -- I guess the club loved him and knew someone else would take him. But let's be honest - hardly anyone mocked Savage this high - or even in the 1st round. Seems like a reach. I'm disappointed because I think we had better guys available. I'm good with a safety - but not this high. I guess the team loved him. Just because a player isn't mocked does that mean he is a reach? A lot of folks have been disappointed in Josh Jones at SS so perhaps this is why this position was addressed this high?
  10. If anyone needs a day off it is Yelich. I have a feeling we're gonna get swept today and then get spanked in NY. Perhaps last year was just a fluke?
  11. I don't think the record at this point is a huge surprise or a big concern. It's more about how bad we've looked that is concerning. Posts like this is why we need a like button on this forum.
  12. Good. The way that group flops around they deserve to be embarrassed. The next round against the Celtics will not be so easy.
  13. I had zero concerns about our bullpen until Knebel was lost for the season. My concern is about our starting rotation. It was a weakness last year and it still is this year. I like our GM and he has done a fabulous job putting this roster together and making this team competitive for the first time since the 80s. But if we want to go deep into the post season again this fall starting pitching has to be fixed.
  14. I mentioned this in another game day thread - our GM and management did not adequately address pitching this offseason. Instead they put all of their chips in the young guys like Peralta, Woodruff and Burnes. It doesn't help that Nelson and Suter still aren't ready to return. Losing Knebel was a killer too. Until this pitching situation is fixed this team will return to where it usually is - on the outside looking in.
  15. I have nothing against Tiger and it is incredible that he won another green jacket but why do the networks in every tournament he is in show us every stroke of his even when he isn't in contention to win? A couple of weeks ago he was 10 strokes back with only a handful of holes to go and they had to show his every move while ignoring other players who had a legitimate shot at winning it.
  16. It was nice to see us take control of that game with Giannus in foul trouble. I too hope we can wrap up this series in the next game. If we get the Celtics in the next round that is gonna be a much tougher series.
  17. I have a feeling he is going be intentionally walked a lot going forward.
  18. Yes, let's hope this is the beginning of good outings by Anderson. It would be huge for us if he can be an effective starter again.
  19. He must have compromising photos of CC. Keeping that clown out there makes about as much sense as McCarthy keeping Capers all those years.
  20. That really made me mad. Yeah, that outfielder had a poor throw in LA but good lord. You don't do that with your MVP and best hitter on deck!
  21. It is a shame we have so many home games early in the season and so few later on. But having a bye at week 11 is better than week 4/5.
  22. Evidently there were several Brewers at the game last night. They also kept showing Rodgers and Patrick court side. If you wanted to rub elbows with the swells I suppose last night was the game to be at the Fiserv Forum.
  23. It isn't easy to sweep teams so I'm happy with taking these series.
  24. On another Brewer forum someone posted photos of Grandal positioning his mitt for a low ball and Burnes is leaving the ball up and in the middle of the plate. You can't keep giving MLB batters cookies and not get burned. I agree, send Burnes down to figure it out.
  25. He is an exciting player and suberb defender who I enjoy watching but he is still a ball hog. As I just said I would have been royally **ssed if Yelich got hurt on that play. Fly balls like that are for the outfielder.
