  1. There are usually a lot of Brewer fans at these games by fans who live in the western part of WI.
  2. The Bucks scored 100 points in regulation just once in the final four games. The game they lost by 22. It was 100 pct the Bucks offense and absolutely NOT their defense. Yup. Its hard to win when you can't hit the broad side of a barn, especially in the post season.
  3. I think that one bothers me the most simply because the odds of Wisconsin ever making it to another championship game in my lifetime are incredibly slim. These 2 posts - all day long.
  4. Yes, I saw that. He was class personified and will be missed.
  5. It also hasn't helped that our shooting has been dreadful for stretches in this series - something they didn't do in the regular season. Toronto's D is great but how many long 2s and 3s did we miss? If we aren't hitting our shots or getting rebounds it isn't easy to win Giannis or no Giannis.
  6. Yes. So that clears a lot of cap room to retain their young core. It'd be nice to be able to bring him back, perhaps on a MLE, but I don't have any idea how that's going to play out. Even in the highly unlikely scenario that CHL wants, the Bucks to pick up Hill's option and pay him 19 million next year, it was still a great trade to get rid of Henson and Delly in favor of Hill. Most likely though, that money will be spent on Brogdon, Middleton, Mirotic and then we'll have to figure out what to do with the MLE, and how to fill in the rest of the roster. I'd imagine we'd be looking for more from Sterling Brown, DDV, DJ Wilson, all of whom are promising young players. But just for the sake of repeating myself, we have the Greek Freak and he's improving. Man....we haven't even lost this series and we have a 24 year old MEGA-star, our future is somehow diminished? I realize that's not what you said, but that's what I'm getting from others on here. And don't let recency bias fool you, Mirotic played poorly and he might have cost himself so money, but he's a VERY good player. Being able to keep our core 5-6 players together with some young role players and then letting Horst fill out the rotation looks like a pretty good recipe to me. Mirotic isn't the only player playing poorly in this series. If he was the only one we wouldn't be in this dire situation.
  7. 60 wins might not happen again but we do have a generational talent and a great HC and these 2 factors can tilt the scales in your favor more in the NBA than in other sports. What team in our division will be a threat to us in 2020? We might not get home court advantage thru out next year but that isn't bothering Toronto this year either.
  8. Their backs were against the wall before tonight's game and as adambr2 said "They're not winning in Toronto with their entire season on the line if they couldn't even protect their homecourt." I don't even want to witness the next game and listen to those fans in full throat cheering.
  9. I don't think they were over-rated. When a team wins 60 games you aren't over-rated. This team right now does NOT look like the team we watched all season long. They came upon a team that is hitting their stride at the right time and got kicked in the teeth every time they made even a small mistake. Perhaps we peaked too soon? I will say this - I don't think either team in the East will beat GS anyway. Let's hope they learn from this and come back in October older and wiser.
  10. He did finish it. They had Albers warming, BA and Rock were speculating that he would finish to protect Hader's arm. I should have been more descriptive to those not watching. Oh, okay. We didn't get to see the ninth because we had to leave the house and we were wondering how it ended. We didn't know what channel on Sirius radio the game would be on so we could listen to the end.
  11. This has been an issue all season long but is magnified in the post season.
  12. If they continue to play this sloppily tomorrow night they are toast. How disappointing to see them play this poorly in these finals. Perhaps they aren't seasoned enough to get to the finals. The Raptors will go into the game tomorrow night full of piss and vinegar and confidence. The Bucks are now the team with their backs against the wall. It will be interesting to see how they respond...
  13. Is it really though? With the money that's carried over from year to year and all the ways around it, it's more like a firm cap. But that actually benefits the Packers. There are rumors that the reason why the Raiders didn't re-sign Mack was they simply could not afford to put 100 million dollars into an escrow account for his signing bonus. That'll never be a problem with the Packers. There are a few teams that are gonna spend more than them, but if they want they can spend with anyone. Anyway, I agree with everything else. The Bucks are close, but they just took a huuge hit with Brogdon, though Giannis just keeps getting better. I can't even imagine what he could do if he would shoot a few more 3's, but shoot them without thinking about it and shoot in rhythm instead of dribbling twice and then shooting like it's practice almost. I could see the Brewers finishing 4th in the division this year. I don't think they will, but baseball is so much luck and momentum. And of course healthy pitching. The Packers, well, Rodgers probably missed more throws last year, throws that could have changed games, overthrowing guys on deep balls by just a yard or two than probably every other year combined. I doubt that happens again. He was still a top 3-4 QB last year in what I believe was his worst year and the Packers have done so much to address the D, they are in a great spot with draft picks, and I still think you see a couple veteran signings either after the draft, or after roster cuts. I think Gute is gonna keep being aggressive. And given how quickly you can turn things around in the NFL, teams seem to go from first to worst every year and then worst to first(Jags last year for one example). It's easy to imagine things going wrong, but lets just imagine a few things go right. 1-Rodgers is re-invigorated with the new offense, the Packers add a TE like Hockenson, Brown, Fant in the draft, the two freakishly big, athletic WR'ers make a big jump next year, Bulaga stays healthy and Turner is an improvement at guard, Adams is Adams, and the running game is as effective, just used more. 2-Defense, King stays healthy and you have a combo of Alexander and Kevin King together finally. A stud in Amos at safety. The two OLB'ers we signed continue their development. Preston Smith who has 60 QB hurries last year, an elite number and Za'Darius Smith also takes his next step. Clark, Daniels, Wilkerson, Adams and Lowry are the type of DL we expected going into last year. Just have to hope that a few other guys emerge from the draft or be it Josh Jackson, Josh Jones, or whoever it may be. None of those things are exactly long shots. And with Pettine's history, it'd be a bigger shock to me if they're NOT top 10 than if they are. And it's always possible with the 12th, 30th, 44th pick and 2 4th rounders, it's hardly a reach to think that we draft some real impact rookies. I just think Rodgers is too good to not win another SB and I think we have a number of guys who are ready to make big jumps this year. I love the Bucks, I think Giannis is going to be the NBA's best player for a long stretch, maybe 5-6 years, but it's real tough to see them getting past the Warriors and while I think he's going to sign at least one more deal with the Bucks that takes him through age 30...it's not a given. The Brewers pitching worries me. Nelson looks good, but Jeffress is a huge concern and even though they were a game away from the WS last year, they were way more than a game away from WINNING the WS last year. Houston, NYY, Boston are all so loaded. Then add in that the Cubs under-performed last year and we still had to go on a historic run last year to win the division and I would personally put the Bucks odds on winning a title at about 10 pct, the Brewers shot at making the playoffs at about 33 pct and the Packers could easily win the NFC which looks pretty up for grabs to me. The Saints and Rams look like the two best teams, but Philly sure didn't look like the best team two years ago. Like you said, a 3-4 game hot stretch could give you another big shinny trophy. It would be nice to see a Boston like run though and get a few titles from our teams in the same year. If all 3 won in the same year, I think I could die happy! If the Packers defense improves along with the young WRs GB can still win another ring before Rodgers retires. But right now the Bucks have the best shot at winning.
  14. Giannus might not be ready to put the team on his back mainly because we forget how young he is. It would be a plus if he could hit a jumper but his free throwing issues might be a bigger problem than that right now. He can draw fouls like crazy but if was more efficient at this he would be an even bigger headache for the rest of the league.
  15. He has been employed by the Brewers for a long time, if they thought was bad he would be fired. That isn't a stat, it's just logic. If he was going rogue out there & just sending guys at his own discretion, he would have been fired. That he hasn't been fired, when everyone thinks it's so obvious he should be, indicates to me that him sending guys aggressively is part of an organizational philosophy dictated from the top down. Just because they keep a coach around doesn't mean they can't do better. McCarthy kept Capers around too damn long in GB.
  16. Why is Sedar still on this staff? Yes, he is dreadful. He must have compromising photos of Counsell somewhere...
  17. Shooting overall the entire game killed us tonight. Toronto's D was tough but we were missing layups and uncontested jumpers. Let's hope this was just an off night for us and we take care of business Tuesday night.
  18. Well, the Cubs lost last night...
  19. There are some who don't want Kimbrel but if we (Stearns) do why wait until after the draft? Just curious...
  20. I hope this is the last nationally televised game for us in a while. For some reason we stink out the joint in these games...
  21. Hiura has a bright future but he should go back to AAA when Shaw comes back. We don't want to ruin his confidence...
