  1. This bunch will be lucky to win another series before this season is mercifully over. Our collapse will be just as memorable as other shocking nose dives by other teams in MLB history. Before the season started nobody thought we'd contend for a WC berth let alone the division. It just took us a while before we returned to earth after a fairy tale start. Frankly I hope heads will roll after this disaster.
  2. Maybe its a good thing I won't be home to watch the game tonight. *sigh*
  3. If we are honest with ourselves before the season started nobody thought we'd contend for the division, let alone a WC spot. Maybe now they are crashing back to what they always were but were masked most of the season by superior pitching. Now that the pitching isn't as stellar the entire team is going down too. Depressing as hell, that's all I can say about it.
  4. Switch "RR," with every other manager in baseball and you're probably close. That said, if we can't find a way to come back here, I'm going from worried to panicked. Our offense will get going with time...but we don't have a lot of time. Hopefully we'll come out of this funk like the last one and get hot. We can't be much worse...
  5. And why do major league hitters swing at a 3-0 pitch? If the pitcher can't find the plate why help him out? It drives me crazy when I see hitters do this - and it isn't just our guys who do get themselves out hitting at stuff off the plate.
  6. 97% of the time when we are on the road we get stuck listening to the other announcers and some of them are much worse than BA and Rock, trust me.
  7. End of 1st half Brewers lost 11 of 12. Right now they've lost 8 of 10. For all that, the Cards were 20-19 since the ASB and the Brewers were 20-19 since the ASB. We're in 1st place on Sept 1st. Isn't that enough? Perhaps, but it would have been kinda nice for us to take advantage of the Cards misfortunes and put some distance between us. I just hope we can figure out why the entire lineup is in a slump before its too late.
  8. To be fair, a month ago Cincy was still in the race and not offering Broxton. This.
  9. I'm hoping Cubs pitching will the just the elixir this team needs to start hitting and scoring again. It will also be a boost to get Broxton and Garza back. Things have been so bleak the only way we can go it up.
  10. Not really IMO. I don't know what good screaming and yelling would do either. It is apparent this team is imploding right before our eyes and it is rather sad, frankly.
  11. How would you like to have to listen to the Giants' announcers gleefully tell us how wonderful SF is?
  12. What is so sad is we aren't even competitive. We are getting blown out and now we go to Chicago and those guys are starting to hit too. What good was that nice streak in April and May if you tank in July and August? I feel bad for Broxton for having go join this motley crew. Of course the Reds aren't much better...
  13. At least Doug isn't fiddling while Rome = Crew burns.
  14. Both of these games (Crew and UW) have been just maddening to watch. At least the Brewers have the talent - but for some reason are in a funk - but Bucky has no passing game or balance. If they get behind forget about it.
  15. Since the win in San Diego we are looking more and more like last year's team. You can't expect to win games when you can't get more than 1 or 2 runs.
  16. I haven't read the entire GDT so forgive me if this was mentioned before but I was disappointed in our infield defense - especially screwing up at first. Not having someone covering the bag twice in that game ultimately cost the game for us if we think about it. That game was one of the more frustrating ones to watch plus having to listen to the SD announcers' glee in our misfortune. That plate umpire has no business in the majors. I don't care if a ump has his own strike zone but he should be consistent. We had a chance to distance ourselves from the Cards and didn't take advantage of it in this series. It isn't going to get any easier tomorrow in SF by any stretch.
  17. Well, that's that. *sigh* I hope they can come back and take the series tomorrow.
  18. We got 10 runs in the first game. Who is pitching for them tomorrow?
  19. Its maddening. The Cards finally lose a game and we have a chance to put some distance between us and we play like this.
  20. Is this game not being shown in Wisconsin (I'm watching the SD feed)?
  21. That slider must be enticing as hell. It drives me crazy to watch one hitter after another swing at pitches outside the strike zone all night long.
  22. A non-Brewers TV analyst said in a game recently that Nelson has been "ok." Thought that was an accurate analysis. I will say this: we could have a really nice bullpen if we make the playoffs. I don't think Jimmy was ready to be in the rotation on the big club with only 2 pitches.
  23. I'm glad Braun is back in the lineup after getting kicked in the leg last night. Braunie hits very well in SD.
  24. That's my issue with it, is that the interpretation of the rule seems to be very arbitrary on a case by case basis. There's no consistency, and we even have the league office saying "yeah, we screwed up" in certain instances. Isn't this because the wording of the rule is so vague? I understand they want to avoid injury to the catcher but they have to address this in the offseason.
