  1. How long with Phillips and Votto be out?
  2. I guess we can chalk that game up to it being one of those days where they couldn't do anything wrong and got a lot of breaks. I hope we can come back and take this series.
  3. How can you get WTMJ in AZ? I will be returning home to FL in 3 weeks and it would be nice not to have to listen to opposing announcers while watching the Crew on the road.
  4. Huh? There won't be MLB Extra Innings next season???
  5. You can buy the MLB At Bat for your iphone/android for $3 a month and get all radio for all games, no blackouts Do you have Sirius radio? All MLB games are broadcast but you usually only get the home announcers.
  6. Yeah...that was a bit painful. Was there a tribute to Tony Gwynn or at least a nice mention of him during the game? I didn't watch past the 5th inning, but I don't think I remember them mentioning him. I love @bestfansstl. I don't think his name came up once.
  7. Hating the Cardinals is a privilege. That whole organization and their arrogant fans makes me sick.
  8. ...we stay out of long losing streaks! It might be nice to get a right hand reliever and a 1st baseman who can actually produce offensively.
  9. He then tried to backtrack later. That was pretty bad all around.
  10. If the NL had won I wonder if he would indeed have won the MVP?
  11. That stadium all shiny and new is still practically empty night after night.
  12. How long as it been since Ramirez and Lucroy batted 6 & 8 respectively?
  13. Braun is a remarkable player and it is rather sad how he tainted his reputation and is now so vilified by so many.
  14. I was rather relieved to see them play well yesterday. Sooner or later they would have snapped the skid. I too hope this is just the beginning and they will bounce back and play like this most of the time after the All Star Break.
  15. I really hope the guys can pull themselves up by their cleatstraps and gut out a win today if only for their collective psyche.
  16. You mean he *tried* to snap his bat in half and then threw a tantrum. i understand the loss of Segura's son could be devastating for the team here in the short term but it doesn't take much to set Gomez off either. This has been a tough game to watch. Frankly I don't blame Carlos one little bit. The frustration and depression in that clubhouse must be overwhelming. If any team needs some time off it is this one.
  17. If the child was sick then it probably wasn't SIDs. What a tragedy for him and his family.
  18. Maybe. But the reaction of RR last night makes me believe the death of this poor child could have been unexpected. I hope it wasn't 'crib death'. My mother lost a son before I was born and she really never got over it.
  19. Really hard to be positive at 1-10. How many World Series winners had a 1-10 stretch? I don't know about winning the world series but a team can turn it around after a bad stretch In 2009 the Rays had a bad streak of 3-13 and bounced back with a record of 12-7 afterwards. However, but that losing streak was in September. In 2010 the Padres lost 10 in a row to the Giants but they too did this late in the season. Didn't those blasted Cards lose 7 in a row last year? We still have time to turn it around. Over the past 30 years, roughly 11 percent of teams that suffered a double-digit losing streak in a single season finished that season with a winning record. About 1 percent reached the postseason. We haven't lost 10 in a row - yet.
  20. "the season" is a weird name for a family member. Cute.
  21. But surely you must be alarmed at how poorly the Crew is playing right now?
  22. oh come on. It is along season. Even if they lose the series to the Cards if they get hot they can retake the lead I realize that. Right now, they're playing such terrible ball that watching is a waste of time. Right now, it feels like no matter what, they're going to find a way to lose, every single night. I can't watch this train-wreck/dumpster fire/20 care pile up/whatever you want to call it until/when they manage to pull out of the tailspin. Sports is entertainment, and it's no longer entertaining, it's just frustrating and un-fun. Yes, this is so un-fun. I'm still debating if I can stomach watching today's game.
