  1. There is venom towards Reynolds for not knowing there was only 1 out and not go for the double play but when your pitcher is struggling and leaving pitches up you don't leave him out there to walk in the winning run in a game this important.
  2. We're stuck with the Cardinal announcers. Rock is right, tho. We can't make these kind of boneheaded mistakes like that and expect to win.
  3. I really feel bad for Lohse. He pitched a gem and his teammates and manager screwed him over.
  4. RR needs to go after this season big time. What a doofas.
  5. This sucks big time. Hubby is right, they don't deserve to be in the playoffs if they keep playing like bozos.
  6. There are some who don't think RR should be fired. But I can't think of another HC or manager who's job would be secure after a collapse by his club like the one we witnessed this season. What drives me crazy is the guys keep making the same mistakes and nothing changes. Isn't that the definition of insanity? Its almost as bad at McCarthy keeping Capers around all this time. I will be bitterly disappointed if changes are not made this offseason.
  7. That shouldn't matter! Who cares what Braun swings at or doesn't? Call the damn pitch what it is. If that is what umps do then the game is BS IMO.
  8. Evidently while in college Lucroy got hit in the head so bad he blacked out. He had to have surgery in his temple to stop the bleeding!
  9. I'd love to know what was said in the Marlins' dugout to get that kind of a reaction out of Fiers. For over a half an hour Mike was sad and contrite over hitting Stanton and it was clearly obvious there was no malice in those pitches. I suspect somebody in the dugout said the magic words and then all hell broke lose. RR should have taken Mike out of there after he hit Stanton IMO. Nothing good was gonna come out of leaving him in there the other night.
  10. This is nuts. Just a few days ago we were writing the Brewers' obituary and now we're only a game and a half off the final WC spot. I won't be able to see the game tonight so I hope I find good news later on.
  11. Roenicke made the mistake last night of not taking Fiers out of there after he hit Stanton. You could see Mike was very upset at what happened. My hubby and I both said to each other Mike's control would now be out the window and sure enough he hit the next guy and all hell broke lose. I don't think the guy who hit Go-Go in the elbow was being retaliatory either and probably didn't need to be tossed.
  12. I've watched a lot of Marlin games down here and I've never heard Tommy Hutton so pissed. Everybody knows Fiers had no intention of hitting Stanton. RR should have taken Mike out of there. You could see how upset he was. Had RR taken him out none of the ugliness afterwards would have taken place.
  13. I'm glad they won if only for their psyche! This losing streak had to be wearing on them all. I'm almost afraid to contemplate getting 2 in a row. We get all of the Marlin games down here so we watched their broadcast. Those guys are one of the best in the business IMO. They almost sounded relieved for us to finally stop the hemorrhaging. The TV guys in Miami are Rich Waltz and Tommy Hutton.
  14. What else is he gonna say? It seems like whatever can go wrong is happening and they can't seem to stop it. Watch their faces if you can stomach viewing "highlights" from last night's game. They look shell shocked. It is almost funereal up there.
  15. I know they are terrible, but you're being a bit hard on Hawk and Jones. I was thinking the same thing.
  16. You can almost see it in his face lately. He looks funereal.
  17. I didn't get home until the 7th inning. What was the crowd like when the game started? I have never witnessed a stretch of baseball like this in my life. I just feel numb. I've been saying for a handful of days now it will be miracle if we win more than a half a dozen games before this season is mercifully over. If any of these coaches return in 2015 I will not get MLB Extra Innings next season.
  18. What makes this collapse the worst for me is we were in first place for most of the season and had a good lead not too long ago. It is rather shocking how every facet of the team is tanking simultaneously. I keep wondering when I'll wake up from this nightmare...
