  1. New USA COVID 19 stats roundup: -Adjusted for ^ in testing we are seeing a *linear* curve. 1 to 1 testing to new cases -Growth rate *not* out of control -USA now tested over 625k. Capacity record. Still optimistic that inflection point is coming soon. covidtracking.com/us-daily/ https://pbs.twimg.com/media/EUJp_IrXYAAaKZH?format=png&name=medium https://twitter.com/jordanschachtel/status/1243673935193006080?s=21
  2. There has been a controlled study run by a VERY high profile doctor in France with hydroxychlorique with 40/40 patients full recovery. Chinese data is now backing this up. We need to end the one size fits all unconstitutional house arrest, send resources to hard hit zones and begin resuming life after next week.

  4. Who are these people that think covid19 isn’t an issue? Other than naive old people “get off my lawn” “I’m not listening to a word the government says” I’ve yet to find these elusive creatures you speak of. Me personally I think I fall in the grey area. Data is beginning to show there is the possibility of a vast overreaction (and not in the “good” way that we go thank god we overreacted). The media is damaging us and making this a subject people are starting to tune out on because of exaggerations IE Chris Hayes saying millions of Americans are about to die over and over. I am worried about it coming back and society not having developed any kind of herd immunity to help stop it by us hiding for months. The problem is the 70 year olds saying F all this stuff I’m going about my business. I have two grandparents that just ignored every order made and came back from Florida to northern WI and nearly stopped in New Orleans along the way for some relaxation, only skipping because we begged them not to. Largely it’s not “us” millennials and working people ignoring it.
  5. Then those lazy asses need to start listening to people other than the media. There are plenty of epidemiologists and infectious disease docs out there on Twitter and other places to get informed. If people don't want to do that then that's on them. Correct. There are. https://nypost.com/2020/03/24/coronavirus-turning-point-in-us-will-be-earlier-than-predicted-nobel-laureate-says/amp/#click=https://t.co/DFov9P4Rgy https://www.ft.com/content/5ff6469a-6dd8-11ea-89df-41bea055720b https://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/2020/03/21/facing-covid-19-reality-national-lockdown-is-no-cure/?outputType=amp#click=https://t.co/tNoyMcLETo
  6. I like the gamble if it doesn’t remove a high draft pick WR. Hate if this ends up being the only real upgrade.
  7. As if I needed more reasons to despise our wonderful folks below the southern border, they apparently think this is all fun and games and could use an extra vacation up in the wonderful north woods where my family is from. 51 has been packed ive been told. Thank you in advance to everyone making the arduous trek north and putting the areas elderly population and their small hospitals, including my grandparents at risk. Hopefully your week(s) at the cabin will be well worth the struggle. My family will be missing their granddaughter/great granddaughters first birthday because im staying in minnesota where i belong. Screw off.
  8. except for they haven't addressed their top 2 offensive needs and its looking like they will have to use a high pick to get a TE and WR. Which I'm totally for, I hope this year they don't go BPA, unless they are forced to reach to do this, which obviously I don't want them to do. I’d trade up and get Ruggs/Lamb/Shenault/Jefferson if WR fly off the board. I want a high end talent WR and not to fall into the “it’s a deep draft, we’ll get one or two later” status quo.
  9. And a clue from that article why Italy's mortality rate is so high - they are only testing people with SEVERE Symptoms. So there are likely 3-4 times as many infected that just haven't been identified as they are either asymptomatic or have mild symptoms. Sounds like the Germans are testing anyone they can. Based on what you are saying about that article.... So much dishonesty (and unknown being put out as “facts”) being printed by journalists it’s not funny. Some people need to lose their profession when this is all said and done. Basically with our alleged horrible testing our death rate is still only 1.3%. At the risk of being called someone that doesn’t care because I really do and it does bother me when I go out, we may be ruining our way of life over essentially nothing when we look back in a few years at this. I repeat, it is very real to those infected or who lose love ones, not downplaying it in that manner. The “essentially nothing” refers to other diseases we lose scores more people to and nobody cares because it happens slower, as well as there is no shock factor or ability for government to twist the population around its finger and see what they can get away with. As of today approximately 0.000033% of the world has been confirmed infected with coronavirus. Never let a good crisis go to waste.
  10. Thanks for the info WHO. I have a few thoughts about that letter posted above but I may get banned from the site with the amount of expletives I’d probably use. Maybe if they wouldn’t have been on a podium kissing China’a rear end in January this wouldn’t be an issue today.
  11. Well didn’t expect that so fast Lol. Took some NYMTN off at 14 and riding free from here on in. Crazy moves.
  12. What an I-diot. Everything is going to 0 but at the same time he’s long a bunch of stuff (and buying today.) Even funnier is him calling Blackstone up and begging forgiveness about things he said about them, and then buying their stock the same night (tonight).
  13. I started dabbling in a couple things today, as I think there was capitulation going on. Preferred stocks (much safer dividends than common shares) were outright being blown out the door, and things like Square rallied 22% off an incredible dump. Not saying we’re out of the woods and we may retest lows again, not sure some of these stocks will see the same lows though. Bought a few as speculative: MSB a little under $10 (iron ore trust in northern MN, no debt and the only thing that it does is distribute royalty payments) NYMTN around $7. preferred stock in a mortgage reit. If they survive it’ll be a 27-30% annual dividend at my purchase price. Eying McDonalds, Delta, and AT&T for the long haul. MCD is getting obscene and Buffett has a large position in DAL already. I think he makes a move on them.
  14. Lack of clarity is maddening too. Do we even have concrete information on how long the virus survives on surfaces...the air...inside us...anything? I know the 14 days has been bandied about, but I’ve also heard things like “no clue,” “over 2 weeks”, “few hours to several days on surfaces,” etc. With all the intelligence and trillions we spend, we can’t get a concrete answer on how long the virus survives on a surface?
  15. You bring up some really good points. When this is all said and done, very few of us will have died, but almost all of us will have suffered. People are losing jobs, being laid off, presumably losing their houses and livelihoods, delaying retirement, among many other consequences. I'm not going to sit here and say that we should value the economy and quality of life for the country over 1 life or 100,000 lives. I'm also not going to say we shouldn't. I simply don't know the answer. I know we lose 40K people or so per year to influenza, 50K to suicide, 146K per year to stroke, 674K to heart disease, and many others, we try to improve these things and we push on. We live to die, eventually. It's a thought provoking, maybe even philosophical debate. But no, I don't think we can afford to respond like this with every pandemic. I don't know what the right level of reaction is. I can completely sympathize with the standpoint that they'd rather overreact now and err on the side of caution to save lives now even if it gets looked at as an overreaction in hindsight. That's perfectly valid. But each reaction has consequences, and death is far from the only one. Everybody losing their job ---> government subsidized healthcare OR greatly diminished state of health and mind. This is absolute insanity, there had best be a GOOD reason for the precautions we are doing when we look back in a year or two, because we have effectively 1929'd our economy in the name of avoiding something that's going to get us anyway in the end. This isn't 2008 bailing out bankers, we're doing it to ourselves and the ramnifications could be far worse than 2008 if it is not short in duration. I'm pretty darn depressed after watching today's edition of coronavirus conference on tv. Things are quickly going to go down the toilet if it doesn't change soon.
  16. I don’t feel closing schools is a good idea but.... Now we’re taking the germ spreaders and putting them in the care of grandparents during the day. Seems very bright and intelligent to me. I would have made it an optional decision with no penalty for staying home.
  17. “What time does Starbucks open tomorrow? Need my $6 macchiato.” Perhaps in some cases, but in a lot more this serves as a harsh generalization that trivializes the hardships that many families will face in the coming weeks. And unfortunately it is the hard reality coming home to roost for many who disregard an emergency fund in favor of trivial items. [insert here NOT everyone struggling does this]. They will get through it with the support of the community, and we will all come out of it on the other side better than ever before.
  18. “What time does Starbucks open tomorrow? Need my $6 macchiato.”
  19. Hey I thoroughly enjoyed watching that. Not an every day kind of thing, but that made me turn the Bucks on, wheras I’ve been too busy to watch them most nights. They all played well against a very good team, just ran out of gas.
  20. I guess I’ll be the contrarian and say most of the coronavirus “market fear” is BS and rather much of it was the market beginning to price in Bernie Sanders vs Trump campaign. That kind of unraveled last night and the markets began readjusting again. We’re not out of the woods though most likely. MOD EDIT: removed political opinions. next time's a temp ban
  21. How did ya think Mark A was going to sell the new stadium plan without a cornerstone player?
  22. The stadium is also crumbling, will soon be unusable.
  23. Shenault, or trade up for Ruggs.
  24. I just assume it's the same people calling for a new football coach cuz they cant beat OSU. Yeah, I highly question how many "people" are actually calling for Gard's head as opposed to how many Twitter profiles are calling for more attention/hottakes. Gard is among the all-time leaders in B1G winning % for guys with his experience. It's downright laughable that his job would be questioned. Trolls used to be an annoying subset of the internet population (and a significant portion of the actual population). Social media has brought the internet to the masses (including the opposition/enemy/non-fans/Russia). Long live the republic, let democracy be questioned... I was one questioning if he needed to go because of the apparent dysfunction. It appears however that one Kobe King may have been the cause for it the further time goes on however rather than Gard.
  25. Oh the things I would do for Jerry Jeudy to be catching passes from Rodgers... I’d gladly settle for Ruggs. It’s time to invest in WR, enough gambling. Adams would be even more efficient if there was a good WR opposite him.
