  1. Win two in a row and we have the tiebreaker over STL, meaning they would have to sweep their DH vs. Detroit to get in over us. Also would have the tiebreaker over SF in event of a tie. Lose the tiebreaker to the Phillies, Marlins and Reds. Need the Padres to win tonight.
  2. We said that after the first only to watch the Spanish explorer strike out the side in the 2nd. Well, they continued to hit the ball hard. Just can't find any holes.
  3. We're getting some good swings in. Expect a run or a few for the Crew next inning.
  4. Very predictable. Unless our offense puts up a number this one is done.
  5. I'd love to be wrong but it seems like the only way he's getting out of this is with a rocket right at somebody.
  6. Lindblom's command looks awful. Would consider pulling him early and going with someone else. Of course, we can't decimate our bullpen over the next two days. Tough call.
  7. Ponce de Leon doesn't look great early either. Just missed a couple.
  8. Lindblom does not look great early. Hope the offense has a big game when we need it. Ponce de Leon has been pretty bad this year but we didn't hit him at all in his last start against us.
  9. We had a discussion about it in the first game thread but I wouldn't have pitched him personally. It's fine though and I understand why CC did.
  10. Agreed, but he's warming. So not happening. Unless Yelich or Braun can knock one out of here.
  11. If we can keep it at a 3 run lead or better I'd try to save Hader for Game 2. I know you take wins where you can get them but they really do need a sweep to get back into good position. Go to Rasmussen (or Yardley if he can go) if Williams can't go 3.
  12. It could just be a matter of a cold streak vs. a hot streak, but I do really like Vogelbach's plate discipline and approach.
  13. There we go, Yeli. He's been working counts well all year. The swing and miss issues have been odd.
  14. How far can we push Suter if he is effective? Is one time through the order his limit?
  15. No way Arcia puts that in play last season. Thrilled with his change in approach this year. Probably had a play at the plate though.
  16. Don't feel like we've really gotten hit by the injury bug more than anyone else. It's just been guys falling way short of expectations. You're right. I probably overstated the injuries. Vogelbach has been such a nice surprise.
  17. 27-29 really is remarkable with the injuries and underperformance so far. If this were a full season we'd be thrilled we didn't fall too far behind while waiting for our guys to regress to the mean.
  18. I'm trying to be only optimistic today but one batter one missed play in the field is making it tough.
