  1. I would be willing to add Will Smith to even things out.
  2. Here the the offers I would like to receive from possible trade partners. Rangers: Brinson, Tate and lower level prospect Twins: Stewart, Kepler and Wheeler Rays: Snell, Gillaspie and Romero Nationals: Giolito (straight up) or Turner, Cole and Franco White Sox: Fulmer, Danish and Alfaro D-Backs: Shipley, Drury and Mejia My top two packages trade partners would be Texas and Minnesota. Although I would be okay with any of these packages for Lucroy.
  3. I would do it for Parker plus 2016 1st and our 2018 1st but don't think Vlade bites. He is looking to win now and none of these assets help him do so.
  4. Jabari would be looking much better on defense if he had a defensive minded center like Sanders behind him. Monroe has definitely been as advertised (low post threat, good rebounder, decent passer from the elbow, below average defender). If we are truly looking to move on from him I'm all for it. Here would be my ideal moves. 1. Trade Monroe and our 2nd to Boston for Lee plus Celtics and Mavs' 1sts. Use these two picks (currently 19 and 22) to draft Denzel Valentine and Juan Hernangomez. Stash Hernangomez overseas for at least one more year. 2. Trade Bayless for a future 2nd to create more PT for Vaughn. 3. Trade Mayo to Sacramento for Marco Belinelli 3. Draft Jakob Poeltl (1st) Perry Ellis (2nd) 4. Resign Plumlee (3yrs/$10MM) 5. Sign Langston Galloway (4yrs/$44MM) Galloway is actually worth similar money to what Cory Joseph got last season (4yrs/$30MM) but with the cap increase and offering enough to cause the Knicks we would likely need to offer more. PG - Galloway, MCW, Ennis SG - Middleton, Vaughn, Belinelli SF - Parker, Valentine, Inglis PF - Giannis, JOB, Ellis C - Poeltl, Henson, Plumlee This adds four more shooters to our roster, a young low usage, defensive minded center who can rebound and score in the post and a starting PG who can still switch out on the perimeter (similar to MCW) but is a better ball handler and long range shooter.
  5. Trade #1: Monroe and Bayless for Rolo, O'Quinn and Galloway Trade #2: Mayo, Henson and MCW for Teague and Splitter Draft Poeltl (1st) and Hield (2nd) Resign Jared Dudley (3yrs/$21MM) PG - Teague, Galloway, Ennis SG - Middleton, Vaughn, Hield SF - Giannis, Dudley, Inglis PF - Parker, O'Quinn, JOB C - Rolo, Poeltl, Splitter
  6. http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2015/12/yankees-aroldis-chapman-trade-reds.html Jagielo is #6 in the Yankees' system and Davis is #10. I'm not to familiar with the other two prospects but it appears to be a lesser haul than what the Dodgers originally offered.
  7. Sign me up for trading for LaRoche if the White Sox are willing to throw in a solid prospect for us to eat his salary. Maybe LaRoche and Jordan Guerrero for David Goforth. Otherwise we could increase our haul by giving them a proven reliever like Jeffress and asking for Michalczewski instead of Guerrero. Either way, I am willing to take on bad contracts to add more quality prospects to our system.
  8. Would be a good bounce back candidate on a one year deal who potentially could be flipped at the trade deadline.
  9. I wouldn't want Garcia in return for Braun. Carson Fulmer is my starting point in any trade for Braun with the White Sox.
  10. Does anyone else hope Chris Okey is still on the board when we pick in the 2nd rd?
  11. Good point. Braun will probably net a bigger return at the trade deadline than off season. Either way, Davis should be moved now while his value is high.
  12. Its hard to say MCW matches up well against Curry when he has averaged 27.0pts/8.5reb/7.0ast in their two meeting this season. I understand what we are trying to say but i feel Monroe give GS more of a match up issue than MCW.
  13. His batting line for the second half of the season was .301/.356/.587 with 17 HR. Not sure he is going to be much more productive than this going forward. I would trade him now and send over some cash since we can afford to eat some of his contract to increase our return.
  14. What about Braun to Toronto? Both Bautista and Encarnacion are FA after this season meaning the Blue Jays are all in this season. We could eat some of his salary to make him more affordable this season (say $9MM this season and another $16MM over the remainder of his contract). In return we get Harris, Pentecost and Espada. I would even be willing to add one of Smith, Jeffress or Blazek to get these guys back in the deal. Toronto would have one if not the best lineup in the league with Donaldson. Bautista, Tulo, Braun and EE making up their version of murder's row.
  15. Well than I can only speak for myself when I say I welcome new ideas and appreciate people who attempt to think outside the box to find opportunities or solutions to better our team.
  16. Don't take it personal man or you won't enjoy this board. It might've been a bad example of a trade but don't let that get in the way of posting more. I agree with Brew4U, we all come up with trade scenarios from time to time which now one else likes but we are all still entitled to our own opinions. Nothing wrong with throwing your opinion out there. I don't think anyone was trying to belittle you our throw you under the bus. Besides its always nice to have new posters who can offer different perspectives.
  17. All three should sign for more than Braun did. 5yrs/$89MM is a steal for his level of production. Now if the Brewers wanted to get creative, they could offer to pay a portion of his salary, say $10-15MM over the next 5 years and really make Braun's salary a bargain ($13-14MM per).
  18. Where do you see this team in 2018? Still unloading veteran talent for what 2023? The Cubs could lose both Arietta and Lackey opening a slight window of opportunity that's likely to close quickly. Cole might become too expensive for Bucs. Arcia should be established by then. Phillips figures to be here, and Davis and Braun could still be around banging. If you are expecting us to compete with the majority of your best players being either rookies or 2nd year players you will likely be greatly disappointed come 2018. It took our last wave (Prince, Braun, Hardy, Hart, Weeks etc) almost 3 years just to reach the playoffs. Albeit mostly on the back of Sabathia who was a beast after being acquired. I don't see us making the playoffs until 2020 at the soonest.
  19. Good article but it sure would be nice to get one additional top prospect added to the system before the draft. I'm sure there will be a GM out there trying to win now who will break the bank to get Lucroy. Stearns simply needs to show patience and wait for the right offer to present itself.
  20. Market might not be right for the trade maybe? Or he isn't worth what some of us feel he is? Could be a lot of factors. We could also be waiting for Upton, Cespedes and Gordon to sign and hope one of the losing teams gets desperate and overpay for Davis.
  21. Of the list, you are correct that Peterson is completely expendable while Flores and Presley project to be 4th OF at best. Of the remaining players Davis should be the one traded to make room for Santana. If Phillips, Reed and Wren are starting in AAA, that leaves Braun, Broxton, Santana, Flores and Presley on the active roster. Simply put, trade Davis and cut Peterson and we are set.
  22. Also has 60 BB in those same 118 IP. Control seems to be his biggest issue. But he is definitely a power arm and is worth a shot on a minor league deal with a ST invite.
  23. No people would be upset if this was the return for Santana since he is younger and has a higher upside than Rogers. I would expect a top 70-80 prospect as a starting point for any package for Santana.
  24. Hence why I'm advocating for Stearns to trade Davis. Let's get Santana playing his natural position (RF) and shift Braun back to LF. Davis would net us a decent prospect(s).
  25. I don't see anyone offering Braun more money just to waive his no trade clause. If we were looking to send him to a contender, I think he would be willing to accept the trade.
