  1. One of those included a 3 game sweep of the Nationals, another one included a 3 game sweep of the Nationals, and another included a 4 game sweep of the Nationals. The Nationals didn't beat the Marlins a second time this year until mid September.

    Pizza

I remember hearing about it when I lived towards Chicago...but most people I knew made fun of it. To be fair, I don't think they ever actually had it. I think their pizza ego was just as deep as a Lou Malnati's sausage deep dish.
  3. Should have moved it to Sunday. Them blowing all their pitching before facing the Astros would have been real beneficial
  4. No way they lower the payroll after winning the World Series.
  5. We will know if we are playing for the WC lead or not by game time as the Cubs/Phillies are an early afternoon game.
  6. Whew, relieved, Favre used some of his own money for it too...well, money from his own charity.? Not sure how it helps “underserved and disabled children and breast cancer patients” He also donated $60k from the same charity to his daughters high school at the time specifically for athletic facilities. They then magically constructed a volleyball facility a year later. Report: Brett Favre's charity foundation gave more than $130,000 to Southern Miss athletics (yahoo.com) Can't wait for the next edition of how Favre used money for the poor and sick to build volleyball facilities.
  7. Brewers are going to face solid starters every single day...so the bats might have to try and show up a bit. Hopefully on Friday, Burnes decides to show up like his ace counterpart did last night. The Brewers haven't announced their Saturday/Sunday plans (that I have seen), but I ponder if they may try to split up Peralta/Ashby. Ashby absolutely mowed down the Marlins back in May throwing for 4 hitless innings with 8 Ks. Plausible they piggyback each other again on Saturday to prep for Tuesday...but I don't know who you toss out there Sunday if you do that. Peralta only has 4 innings pitched in the last month though...so we probably don't have much of a choice in the end.
  8. Looks like the Brewers have set up Burnes to pitch the season finale on Wednesday. I imagine Woodruff will pitch his scheduled day on Monday. Tuesday might be a total committee day. Of course there is likely to be no need for Burnes to even pitch by then and we will end up just resting him to start the first WC game.
  9. I’m glad the real Brewers waited till we scored 3 runs before showing up.
  10. Tyrone Taylor watches all the guys before him walk or put the ball in play…and he, well, three strikes to whiff.
  11. We simply can’t afford to, for the third time in a row, fail to take advantage of the Phillies losing. As much as people are pessimistic about our team…the Phillies have really sucked lately. Them losing their first two games of their road trip is a decent sign they probably won’t pop off a great record the rest of the way.
  12. Trading Hader mid season can be debated depending on one’s opinion…but trading him and then not attempting to get some solid help to offset it? Come on man. Getting back their 4.5 ERA closer and a 50 year old former first overall pick at the deadline? I like the idea of consistently contending…but I’d also actually like to make the postseason and actually have a team built to make it past the wild card or NLDS too. We have 2 or 3 aces and so far we have made it past the NLDS/WC zero times with them.
  13. People wanted bullpen help at the deadline and instead Stearns dumped off Hader and we ended up worse off in the bullpen overall. Gold job, on our way to potentially another pathetic blown game the last month to help sink us.
  14. Thanks for that. None of the news articles I saw listed I-39 nor did it link the document you did. Seemed illogical to leave out that area.
  15. I actually had to circle back because I forgot about Jack Coan and I remembered he was way better than some gave him credit for. He popped off for 280 against Minnesota in the last game of 2019. They actually had like 100 yards more passing thanks to a couple massive throws. However, the time before that was 2014. Joel Stave, also against Minnesota in the last game of the year. Maybe I am missing someone else, but think I covered all the QBs now. Just kind of shows the utter dependency on the run and being down late makes it very very hard for them to stage any kind of comeback or game winning drive if short on time.

    Pizza

Alright, I thought Little Ceasers was the worst pizza I have ever had (at least when you don't order it fresh)...but the Pizza Hut Detroit Style? Wow, absolutely disgusting. First off the cheese didn't go to the edge and crisp, which is probably the best part of a Detroit style (I wouldn't actually know I have never had a real one). The worst part, the sauce. The premium red sauce is the worst sauce I have ever had on a pizza. Pizza Hut tried 8 different sauces before coming the the conclusion that nasty stuff was the best choice. It was as bad as the city it is named after. Real Detroit style cannot possibly be that bad.
  17. The most realistic path starts with us going into Saturday down .5 game, them splitting, and then us winning. Then you are tied going into the last four days. That gives you a solid chance to take the last spot. They have Woodruff/Burnes going the next two games and Friday is likely Peralta. Is it really that crazy to think we could easily pop off 3 wins in a row? That same Woodruff/Burnes/Peralta combo will cover the entire last series too. So to put it simply, our best guys are covering 75% of the remaining games. And for all the people upset Houser faced a great pitcher...Alcantara is likely the Thursday starter against the reigning Cy Young...so y'all can back off that ledge. Alcantara will pitch nowhere near Sunday's game that likely has Houser going. And if you really want to look ahead we unfortunately won't avoid Zac Gallen if he pitches again after tonight. He would likely face Woodruff next Monday or Burnes on Tuesday. We also will likely have to face Merrill Kelly the last game of the year. Of course a lot of that gets really fuzzy with non competing teams and if they even pitch who knows how long they do.
  18. Does anyone have an example of how we are going to better spend $8mil? Like a specific example that would be a one year or maybe two year deal? Not to mention Wong is really just a solid all around hitter, not just mashing homers with a 30% K rate. I am not doubting it, but people act like finding an upper .700 OPS with no long term commitment is easy peasy for $8mil or so. Wong would be a big offensive loss and it wouldn't be cheap replacing that offense. The lazy answer is. "Oh, well we can spend it on bullpen help.", so outside of that...how would one hypothetically spend that money? A lot of people mention getting a 3B, so who will even be available?

  20. The plans for the EV charging locations from the federal funding have been announced. These are fast charging stations, not Level 2 stations. Many interstates and areas around Milwaukee/Madison, however some notable Northwoods locations will soon see better EV support. Hopes are they can start construction in the spring. The bolded ones below are some of the major corridors to or in the Northwoods. Interstate 41 Interstate 43 Interstate 90 Interstate 94 Interstate 535 U.S. Highway 8 U.S. Highway 41 U.S. Highway 53 U.S. Highway 151 Part of U.S. Highway 2 Part of U.S. Highway 29 Part of U.S. Highway 51 Part of U.S. Highway 141 The intention is to have a minimum 4 car charger every 50 miles. Not sure what 'part of' really means. May mean they are spaced out much more than that or one part of the highway may be entirely ignored. This is honestly really nice from a tourism standpoint. Places like Minneapolis/Chicago area EVs are becoming very popular and they certainly are a huge chunk of northern Wisconsin tourism. Interesting I-39 is getting completely ignored.
  21. Anyone want to try and guess the last time the Badgers beat a ranked opponent in the regular season with over 200 yards passing? I had to look it up because I thought to myself, PC couldn't beat a good team if running the ball didn't work.
  22. I’d guess they will carry a similar payroll as they did this year. That may be costing them more than they would like due to attendance drops or whatever, but these high payroll should drop off in 2024/2025 and they should get some of those nice lower payroll for a chunk of years….especially if the flashy prospects flop and we have to go full rebuild.
