  1. I thought he was pretty likable and personable until everything went down. Then he started giving off that closed off rich athlete vibe. I guess that is to be expected to some extent. Hard to really interact with fans etc. when there will always be one douche around to scream negativity at you. He still showed up for off season events, like the food drive, or the gear-up for the season event in January. Of course his contract probably stipulated him to do stuff like that barring a legit excuse, but he still looked like he enjoyed it regardless.
  2. I think this was partly orchestrated to get fans to go to a meaningless September game. Get a little hype going into the postseason.
  3. Sounds like the Brewers will celebrate the last day of the season. Weird timing for all this when we are in the thick of a postseason race...but whatever I suppose.
  4. He has already made $4.4mil in his career. His elbow could blow tomorrow and he would still make another $20mil or so minimum because the Brewers would offer him arby next year to rehab and then the year after when he can pitch again.
  5. The only problem is I am 95% confident what Hader will do, be one of the best relievers in the game. Strickland had been garbage since 2017, Boxberger hasn't had this stellar of a season since 2014, and Suter is just a guy. Suter is going on 32, Boxberger is going on 34, and Strickland is going on 33. There is a reason we got these guys for peanuts and their trade value would be peanuts compared to Hader. I don't have a problem trying to bring back Strickland or Boxberger...either could be a solid value resigning. However, expecting them to replace Hader's value (or anything close to it) would be a recipe for disappointment. I would vote them being released by July over them repeating anything near their current results. Realistically you keep Hader and then go back to diving in the muck for your new Strickland/Boxberger. Hope you can find another diamond in the rough. Even if we traded Hader I am not sure I would want to be spending decent money for mid-30s relievers with terrible track records. Not that I expect either to really find much on the open market. Maybe a 2 year deal.
  6. Is waiver wire order just random to start? On Yahoo I get to be #7 after drafting #10. Kinda lame.
  7. Since he didn't switch leagues, probably not a huge deal.
  8. MLF screwing something up on a 4th down? I have heard this story before.
  9. Correct, Aaron Rodgers....along with every other human, is not Tom Brady.
  10. That safety made an incredible play to run the field and come up with that ball. Rodgers probably doesn't throw it at all if you told him it was going to be 2v1...because that is where an INT can quickly turn into a lengthy return.
  11. I think they might have kicked the tires on Woodruff if extending Yelich wouldn't have happened. Back end of the deal may have been less than pleasant, but who knows with how long some pitchers stay elite. Now that Yelich is not only extended, but a shell of his former self...yah, I don't think they can afford it or risk both sucking at the same time.
  12. Yah...the common theme was, "defense is just as bad as last year." That would make me want to play the people on the field, no the DC on the sideline. Yet everyone was rolling the DC over the coals.
  13. Are they five touchdowns underrated? I am sure you even understand this wasn't a 5 TD game. If the Packers wanted to make it close as possible they wouldn't go for it on their own 25 or whatever it was. They wouldn't play Jordan Love in the game. Those things just torpedo it further and make it look even worse than it was.
  14. I will add, it is really hard to judge a game that started off the way this one did. It forced the offense to get desperate...going for it when we normally wouldn't and then the long pass INT in total desperation to have something happen. I will give everyone a free pass. If anyone shows up like this next week, yah, throw them under a bus.
  15. I think people are really underrating how incredible the Saints defense played. Rodgers simply had no where to throw the entire game. Their man coverage was great and the safeties picked up anything that got open. Rodgers did look a bit rusty, but even superman Rodgers would have struggled mightily today. Add in some bad turnovers and a horrible defense, things got messy quick.
  16. My team is slated for 140 points in 1/2 PPR despite having Davante Adams and Aaron Rodgers. I also had Mostert give me 2 points. So at least I got that going for me after that miserable game.
  17. I watch the NFL less and less every year. Dude tackles the QB, does everything right, and it officially ends the game. What a waste of time. Imagine if that pathetic call happened in a close game.
  18. I mean, even Rodgers knew we needed a TD on that drive.
  19. Getting a TD would have just been a tease anyway. Not like the defense has proved the ability to do anything.
  20. A strange route too. As the announcers mentioned we put a guy underneath another guy with maybe 5 yards between them. How are you suppose to throw into that?
  21. As the replay showed, clearly jumping around the field trying to call a timeout.
  22. About time to see what else is on TV.
  23. Only counts if Lauer finishes it Another boring game full of disappointment. Not sure how anyone watches.
  24. I mean, you can sugar coat it all you want, but he is 32nd in just the NL for innings pitched. The other guys are #1 and #2 with dozens more innings pitched. Not sure the point comparing him to Nolan Ryan or pitchers from 10 years ago. Voters are not docking Burnes because he isn’t on pace to pitch 240 innings. It’s because head to head he is a ways behind the other guys. And I’m not really speaking my mind, just pointing out why voters have a problem with his innings pitched. I think Burnes is easily #1, but I don’t get a vote.
  25. Relievers don’t win it anymore, so I don’t understand that argument.
