  1. Funny an expert/source would call it a buyers market when most Brewers fans think it is a sellers market. I suppose that is always the outlook for fans. When we are selling its a buyers market and when buying it is always a sellers market.
  2. Rodgers likes his teammates and his coaches. The guy is going to shut up for the next 6+ months and try to win a Super Bowl. That is what he has done every year. This is precisely why the saga ended the second training camp was about to start. Everyone can have their differing opinions on Rodgers vs. the front office, but nothing past or present hints he is going to start being a baby midseason. The want if in the event they struggle seems rather pointless because that seems incredibly unlikely to happen. I think I will see pigs fly before the Packers start 3-6 or something this year. The only wild card is the apparent "have Rodgers more involved" or whatever they have agreed upon. I am not sure really what that will involve midseason. I find it more likely we get some BS media garbage cooked up that isn't even accurate. Seems almost destined to have some rumor Rodgers forced the organization to keep some fringe guy at the end of training camp.
  3. Justin Wilson has a wild option for 2022. Club Option = $7.15mil Player Option = $2.3mil and exercising it gives a club option for league minimum in 2023 Buyout = $1.15mil
  4. Yah, there is no way they would consider bringing Schoop back in. I bet they would start Hiura over that idea. Schoop seemingly blamed going to Milwaukee for his poor play, didn't want to come here, etc...Stearns then admitted how terrible of a decision it was when they didn't offer him arbitration after the year (or was it an option). No way they go through that again for a guy with a sub .800 OPS for first base.
  5. It is expected both teams will pay the $70mil+ to leave the Big 12 and start in the SEC next year.
  6. I am sure fans aren't happy if they move to the SEC...but it is about money. Oklahoma would rather have a big check versus being a fringe playoff team every year. Texas...not sure it matters since they aren't really good at football/basketball lately anyway. I am sure current SEC teams aren't looking forward to the potential for another loss...but again, tens of millions can wipe away the tears real fast.
  7. I'd grab a 1B if it is a an obvious upgrade and would lower the risk of trash performance there (Tellez/Vogelbach/Hiura are all iffy performers). The OF is such a mixture of expensive contracts, terrible play, and average play I am not sure how you can really try to upgrade it. Wong/Adames/Narvaez/Urias will all do. Bullpen help is pretty obvious and maybe a starter...but I can't envision a big splash there.
  8. Mitchell is the only guy I would probably not trade under just about an circumstance. The rest, all depends on the player we are getting. Of course, what is a big trade? And does the list change based on a big rental trade or a big controllable player trade?
  9. This Cobb thing doesn’t seem like a big deal to me. Cobb looked pretty useful watching the Cowboys and Texans the last two years. When it comes to minor WRs on the roster I will take whatever preference and relationship a QB has. Just seems like a more productive outcome as long as we aren’t dumping high potential guys to keep said player. James Jones wasn’t that good, but that QB/WR combo far outperformed his actual talent at WR.
  10. Some ACC teams make sense, but from my understanding there would be so many roadblocks to make it work for them to leave the ACC it is pretty unlikely. And Notre Dame is not happening.
  11. I must be too young for root beer barrels in my Halloween candy. I always thought Jolly Ranchers were the worst to get. 1. You always got 100 of them 2. They weren't chocolate 3. They were a hard candy. I also hated getting double bubble because it always seemed like they handed out 5 year old gum. My mom always gave me a pack of Kit Kats in trade for the Dots I despised. Those popcorn disc were another one...what the heck were those things?
  12. I think Kansas could make some sense. They still have pretty good revenue without a relevant football team at the moment. I don't try to understand revenue numbers people post on Twitter...but it seems they wouldn't dilute the revenue. They aren't a Oklahoma or Texas, but the Big Ten ain't getting that. The most lucrative is probably if they wanted to dive far into the west coast, but I have a hard time seeing the Big Ten go that route. If that isn't an option and they have a heavy preference to target AAU schools it becomes slim pickings. Iowa State though...yah that probably does not make much sense. It isn't a new market, their revenue isn't impressive, and just doesn't seems like a team the Big Ten typically would want to target.
  13. Money is exactly why the Big Ten took Maryland and Rutgers. Garbage for competition...buy hey, lots of money.
  14. Nothing to see here, two non-competing teams creating a clown show. I am more interested in World Series celebrations...not fly ball celebrations.
  15. I am guessing there is absolutely zero way the Packers would go into any agreement where he can just walk after the year. Rodgers will likely get to choose because both sides have agreed to move on after the year if Rodgers wants out (via trade)...not repeat this summer all over again. There is no way they would agree to just release him. It makes absolutely no sense for the Packers. I think their front office has botched this entire situation...but they gotta be smarter than that.
  16. This pretty much sums up anything related to Rodgers this year thanks to a clown show in the media. Honestly, people should hang out some of these reporters to dry. It is a joke. It was a few days ago some reporter was convinced Rodgers was going to sit out like 4 weeks of the regular season. Thing sure changed quick. Rodgers showing up day one to training camp always seemed predictable to me.
  17. Thought I saw a report the Big Ten doesn't really want to expand right now. Kansas and Iowa State would be the only real options from the Big 12 if they are determined to get AAU schools.
  18. Not sure the Packers really made it out that well. They got Rodgers to come back, but for a year. If they would have appeased Rodgers and locked him up for years, I would see how they won big. Is one more run with Rodgers really worth the risk here? Seems like they would have been better off trading him months ago for a massive haul. It is a decent end for the Packers after they dug their heels in to the last second. To me though, a big extension or just getting rid of him months ago would have been the best outcomes for the Packers. Not sure how next off season will go, but I still see a lot of issues that could arise even if both sides want a trade. Seems destined for more off season drama. How are you trading him on what will be a one year deal? Will the return be anywhere near what they could have got now? What if he gets hurt/looks like he is on the decline? How much will Rodgers force a trade to a specific team? Will the acquiring team require an extension? Can't wait....not
  19. We are closing in on the trade deadline and the Cardinals are .500 and the Reds are barely over. Neither team is going to make any moves to try and close the gap...it would be dumb. On the flip side the Brewers will be highly motivated to make additions for a World Series run. The Brewers just don't seem like a team built to fall off the face of the earth and implode badly enough to lose the division. The Brewers are good and the rest of the division is not. The stats show that as do the standings. That will become even more obvious/worse at the deadline.
  20. I’m so sick of this entire thing. The biggest temper tantrums and cry babies in this situation are Packers fans.
  21. A wolf, a dinosaur, a rattlesnake, a fish with a spear on it, and a mythical character that can cast spells - all pretty cool on their own merit. Statues on a man-made bridge serving as traffic cops, not so much in my book A dinosaur from a movie and a fish are not cool. I assume you don't like Dodgers? Those were just people trying not to get hit by trolley cars. How about White Sox, Red Sox? Those are articles of clothing. I am not sure comparing classic names that are from the 1800s and the expectation to creating a name in the year 2021 are even remotely comparable. If they created this name in the 1800s it wouldn't be a problem. Using an 1800s mindset to create a name in 2021 is not effective imo.
  22. Nothing could be as ugly and bland as the Brewers logo in the 90s. The official logo in the 2000s wasn't great, but the M barley was pretty cool and quickly became the official logo for most instances. It was actually the primary logo for 18-19.
  23. I mean yah, sure, the name has some city meaning. Social media would tell me that fans do not care, at all. I am sure the two G's in the logo are suppose to look like the guardian things in the city a little bit and they are "guarding" the baseball. This is what happens when you get a city historian and a graphics designer to decide everything. People want a cool name and a sweet looking logo. Not something an 70 year old that hangs out at the library would think is cool. I mean, do we think this is something the younger generation wants to rock? LOL
  24. Really? Because if I was going to pick a name that doesn't fit into the league at all the Seattle Kraken would definitely be my pick for odd misfit name. I do think Guardians is a crummy name though and the logo is pretty...weird. I laughed out loud when it popped up in the video.
  25. Maybe it is just me....but I feel like, if you gotta change your name, you should just blow up the entire uniform line and logo design. Blow up your colors and just be new. Most fans are probably mad and think it is unneeded. You could have at least made an exciting reveal and new design to want people to buy the new gear. I mean, wouldn't you want to motivate people to not wear the Indians gear anymore? I don't know...feels like they missed an opportunity here.
