  1. I was going to say earlier today it feels destined for Giannis to go beast mode for 50 points on the way to a win…but I said the more modest 40 points. I just hope we win, but 50 would be one heck of a performance in a win.
  2. Yah idk, this seems far from poorly reffed
  3. What terrible luck. Lose a basket off it being over the basket and then an easy dunk the other way lost by the shot clock violation.
  4. We are almost halfway through this game and this is a pretty pathetic showing.
  5. Bucks are really sucking…thankfully Suns suck even more.
  6. Archer was the Opening Day/1 starter on the Rays a team whose pitching was in the front half of the league. You may not like the not like his stats sheet but he was without a doubt Tampa’s #1 starter. Trading for a #1 starter is costly, it’s fair to say in retrospect they shouldn’t have done it given what happened but to say it was Mia-managed or bungled at the time isn’t wholly accurate. [sarcasm]Should have just traded for Blake Snell, would have been cheaper as the Rays #2 starter[/sarcasm] Either would have looked great as our ace instead of our #1 starter in 2018, Chase Anderson. He started opening day, so he had to be our #1 pitcher even if the results through half a season point otherwise.
  7. Sounds suspiciously like something HH19 would say! I truly want a longtime lurker who remembers High Heat to name themselves ‘Low Heat19’ when they join and make a comment like HP29 did.
  8. I’m guessing you are taking into consideration the cost of acquiring into that…because Donaldson/Gallo are way better than what Braun would likely provide and Escobar is maybe around the same vicinity of what one would hope to get from Braun. The only positive to Braun is the fact he wouldn’t cost much. The calendar is closing in on August. Pulling a guy off the streets just doesn’t make “too much sense” in my mind. Pulling a 36 year old out of retirement to go play string training on the MLB roster in the thick of the pennant race seems like a cool story and not exactly great results.
  9. There are probably 50 Archer threads as some wanted him more than any other player on the planet at that time. I and many many others didn't want to touch him with a 10 foot pole though.
  10. I think they win. If a Wisconsin team is going to win a ‘ship it feels like it would go in the most fitting fashion. At home, the dumb motto ‘Bucks in 6’ would finally come to fruition, Giannis gets the ‘ship he promised as a teen etc. Feels like Giannis should drop 40 on the way to hoisting his MVP trophy. If they lose I’m pretty confident they lose Game 7. It’s storybook ending or bust in my predictive mind.
  11. Turang and one of the catchers at AAA seem like probable pieces the Brewers would be willing to send off. Hiura is also a potential candidate, but how they feel/value him is a crapshoot. Could always see them trying to 'sell high' on a Tyrone Taylor, much like trading off Grisham.
  12. That was the first time. This is the first year an 0-2 deficit has been erased 3 times (by any number of teams combined).
  13. Didn't the LA Clippers do that...this year?
  14. I am sure leaks come out of the Brewers camp too, just like any other team. Stearns is good at keeping a quiet front office (a skill he credited Doug Melvin for), but lets not just resort to the fact the walls are bullet proof. It isn't shocking though. I fully expect the Brewers to make some moves and heavily explore major moves. The entire front office probably knows any fan watching will die before we ever see a trio of starters like we have now again. This isn't just a shot at a World Series run...this could be a golden opportunity for a small market like us. Iron out the bullpen, adjust the offense, and it is pretty hard to see us putting together a roster with a better shot on paper. There may not be another year where Burnes/Woodruff/Peralta pitch like this in the same year.
  15. I think only 4 teams have come back from down in the Finals 0-2 also... That is all I could think of when they were talking about it. Someone will be making a historical comeback one way or the other.
  16. Crazy to think McCutchen was a Top 5 MVP finisher for four straight years and then had a Christian Yelich style implosion at 29. Between that and getting nothing useful for Gerritt Cole was not a good start to getting back on track.
  17. I believe there are only 4 instances of teams coming back down 3-2. Seems like it should be more common of an occurrence.
  18. I never understood why people (not referring to RRB here, just in general), become upset when an adjustment is made to a player's perceived trade value based on the results of an actual trade. It is essentially the same as any free market system. When the results of an actual transaction are less (or more) than an estimated book value, there is an adjustment to that book value in response. It is not about being right or wrong. It is a correction to blue book value as a result of real world data. Because many decided it was dumb instantly and fail to understand how it works and taking it for what it is. It could prove brilliantly accurate and those people would still hate it. Its like posters thinking Stearns sucks or the Brewers are doing something wrong no matter what happens. People would rather dissappear when things don't look like their comments/predictions than look at something differently.
  19. Yup, all of the people I knew street parked. Parking garages are usually much safer, though I recall some people in St Louis told me, unless they have good security, garages can sometimes be worse. Garages are a bunch of cars and don't have people constantly driving by or walking by. Police also can't really watch them either. Haven't decided how I want to get to Miller Park for the World Series...but I have a few months.
  20. I have known 6 people to go to the district. 3/6 got their car windows smashed in and raided. Some on the same day near each other but not all...like three different playoff games. i wouldn't drive either.
  21. There is no reason to acquire a back up catcher to play once a week. It is a big reason Pina is so terrible this year, any replacement would likely be just as bad. No reason to mess with the pitching staff tossing a new catcher into the mix voluntarily.
  22. I was thinking about this the other day, if Willy keeps this up and Yeli turns back into the human cheat code, with this pitching staff and the other quality role players in the lineup a World Series Championship is maybe even more realistic than it was in 2018. Are we really still dreaming on Yelich becoming a human cheat code again? At this point I dream of him being a fringe All Star again like he was in Miami.
  23. There are two extra screens now. One in the Bradley lot and another one in a different spot.
  24. I would take the under, seems likely a lot of teams they play will be in thick races. Giants, Mets, Dodgers, Phillies, etc. make up a big chunk of our September schedule. Cardinals would be another annoying thorn if they are still in the fringe going into the last few weeks. I am sure the odds of this will be answered in the next month with 11 games against the pirates/Royals. They also have 4 games against the Cubs in the span after the end of July when they sell off...that could also be an important series. If we are going to flirt with 100 wins we probably have to take care of business against the last run of scrub opponents. While the last month or so of the season doesn't feature much for elite teams, it also doesn't really feature terrible ones either.
  25. The Brewers playoff odds have hit a season high 92.6%, per fangraphs. The Reds jumped their odds up to almost 25% with their play in the first half of July, but their first three games after the break have aided into cratering them to 11.4% odds.
