  1. I’d guess a mutual MLB for MLB swap. Not sure why else we would dump Arcia to go with similarly poor hitting Urias this early in the season.
  2. Probably more interesting than one would think considering the time of trade. I’d think a mutually benefitting MLB for MLB swap.
  3. We all know why the 2020 team was competitive...a 60 game season and a million playoff spots. It’s way too early to really judge this team, but Stearns created a strong 2018 team and it has cratered ever since. That should not be happening. He had a young core, the payroll wasn’t that high, and still had his farm intact (unlike Doug Melvins 2011 team).
  4. I would give Hiura the better part of the month starting as often as possible to figure it out. That being said he sucks right now and sucked all of last year. At some point his potential doesn't matter on a competitive team. He needs to figure it out or go figure it out in the minors. We can't let a total hack in the field cost us on the other side of the ball too. He was 121 out of 142 MLB players last year...he is dead last so far in 2021.
  5. Well if we rewind to the start of the offseason I think a team would have given up a first round pick + a little more. Jordan Love was a first round pick himself and got seasoned a bit behind Aaron Rodgers. I think the later would be somewhat attractive to a team. Say Washington or Chicago at 19/20...I definitely could/would see Love garnering a first in the range. Of course I am just hypothetically just mentioning those teams as there is no way the Packers would trade a QB to the Bears. I just think past the Top 10 I could definitely see a team pulling the trigger on Love. Love has the advantage of still being all potential and you can dream on that...Darnold? Sure there is potential, but there is a lot of ugly that has already been seen in reality. Of course if you tried to trade him right now the value may not be as much as many teams have found QBs or have fallen in love with some QB in the draft.
  6. What do the Brewers care about how much a TV studio and the production costs? They aren't the ones paying for it and stuck in old times.
  7. So few things after attending first game: 1) I guess fireworks aren't a thing anymore? Falsely promised that to my 4 year old. 2) Wearing a mask in the mid-day sun while seated, brutal. It caused my 4 year old to drink his water and the majority of mine pretty quickly. Thankfully, the mask policy while seated seemed to not be enforced by any usher I saw. People actually wearing a mask plummeted below 25% really fast in areas in the sun. If you are one that wants to follow the policy and wear it while seated I highly recommend the shade. 3) I never saw a single person sanitizing anything. Never a concession counter, never a bathroom, never a hand rail. I don't really care, but I was kind of surprised to see zero effort put into sanitizing. Actually at one point the people in front of me started sliding over the zip ties so they could fit two more people. One of the guys asked the usher and he said he didn't care if they did it. 4) If you want to hit up the team store and see a line rivaling the great wall of china before the game just go during the game later, there won't be a line.
  8. What a great game...I hate how that ends though. It feels luck instead of a actual big shot to win it. Idk, not trying to take away from the shot at the end, but banking a near half court shot is just...not the kind of end I want to see. Not after UCLA had an incredible run in the tourney and hard fought game.
  9. I’m sure this is some concept hoping idiots follow it and lower the congestion at prime times to enter the park, but in reality you can enter anywhere at any time would be my guess. If this was actually I thing I’d expect a lot of angry people by now, but I haven’t heard anyone mention it being a problem. One of my tickets this month is 10 minutes prior to game time. All I can say is “LOL”. If they block me from entering until 10 minutes before first pitch you won’t see me at another game all year. That’s flat out dumb.
  10. I’m sure there will be a lot of transfers you wouldn’t normally expect. The fact they can just transfer and play right away takes any downside to transferring away...at least that’s how I understand the rule for next year, no sitting for a year.
  11. People hated cable already. Hence why things like Hulu/YouTube TV are legit players in the market now. People also hated Sinclair before any of this happened. People also hated MLB before they watched their product get less and less viewers. I’m more surprised Sinclair hasn’t found a way to get back on streaming services. Seems they have a lot more to lose in all of this. Of course if their long term goal is a standalone product they probably don’t care about these short term losses as much. For YouTube TV etc. I think most of their consumer base doesn’t care about baseball (and to some extent basketball). If you are just a football fan (or not a sports fan at all) YouTube TV is still a stellar product...it really is only killing people who watch RSNs. They probably saw little decline in users due to dropping RSNs. They would probably have to hike everyone’s bill $15 just to break even on the RSNs. Wouldn’t shock me if they would lose more non sports fans jumping ship for a cheaper streaming option without RSNs than they would gain sports fans subscribing for the RSNs.
  12. Regarding the sausage race, it’s my understanding they require anyone with access to the field level to be part of the daily tier one or tier two testing protocols. So in that context it makes sense you’d go without any entertainment acts on the field for the time being. Right, my point was that it was an MLB limitation and not the Brewers or Milwaukee officials. I’m not sure MLB would go with such a setting (Texas and zero protocols) and announce it in today’s COVID climate. I just don’t know the non sports media would take that well. The risk of getting rolled over the coals may not be worth it. It’s just...pretty silly in all honesty. But whatever it is what it is. I will be thrilled to be at the ballpark Sunday with my soon to be 5 year old who has missed out on some Brewers baseball for awhile. Unfortunately the sausage race is an incredibly strong memory for him...so he is a bit disappointed that won’t happen. Hopefully they didn’t ban ice cream (specifically dipping’ dots), because that is his other strong memory of going to baseball games.
  13. The problem with Story, is he really going to be a difference maker bat outside of Colorado? Why mortgage a huge chunk of the farm for a guy who will post a .800 OPS? Sure, great for SS...but hardly catapulting our offense. If I am giving up our top prospect for a rental bat he better be MVP level with the bat no matter the position he plays.
  14. Speaking of Marquette, a top recruit in Jonas Aidoo has de committed after the Wojo news.
  15. MLB won’t let masked sausages run on the field and you think they will go out of their way to make sure it is in a place with lax COVID restrictions? I know what you are going to say “money”...but I am skeptical. It would be a terrible look for the league to totally disregard safety like that even if it is months off where restrictions won’t be bad...in April 2021 it would look terrible. I would be somewhat surprised if Texas wants it this year. With a new stadium they are an automatic host in the next few years. Why take a pandemic mess of a year to host?
  16. Way too early to even guess what our top needs will be. Urias and Arcia could certainly be decent, I highly doubt we go 1B, 3B could be fine with Shaw and Co. Pitching is always a deadline need in some form for every team. I doubt they go big at the deadline...but who knows. Could be an interesting deadline for teams who get full capacity attendance sooner rather than later. Teams held down by local officials could really be outbid due to financial costs quickly.
  17. Am I the only person who doesn't have a clue what this post is saying, or who the people are being referred to? lol This is what you want, you're much better off not wasting brain cells on it. I'm jealous. lol To be fair I know all of that from two articles. Once when Bella Thorne went viral for making her million and then the one today about the Dr Phil girl. Then I think I read an article about how all the 'adult content' media creators all had mental breakdowns because of the limits Bella Thorne caused for them. Which something about girls crying because they could only sell a picture for $30 instead of $100 was just kind of comical.
  18. You should be able to. Their site now requires one HD box when signing up, but I think you can call and go around that. However, their app is somewhat limited to what you can get it on. Right now it is only available on Samsung Smart TVs from the last few years. You would have to go buy Apple TVs or something to get it streamed on something else. Not sure how DVR works in that scenario. I have seen the app before and while a bit wonky compared to other streaming services it isn't overly bad.
  19. The difference doesn’t need to be big to make a difference though. According to that stat shown 66% of people pay $100+ (I didn’t make a free account to see detailed stats). YouTube TV is $65, so 2/3 of people would pay at least $420 more a year. I calculated cable (after the cheap first year) and it was about $135 all-in to get three TVs hooked up with DVR per month, a hefty $840 difference. I’m not surprised people don’t want to pay $500+ to watch the Brewers every year. I surely won’t, I just mooch off someone’s spectrum account. If that wasn’t possible I just wouldn’t watch on TV.
  20. Because people don’t want cable more than they want to watch the Brewers...pretty simple. May not be that way to you, but many clearly don’t want cable that badly. Not surprisingly after a summer last year of almost no baseball. People probably realized it isn’t worth that much to them. To some $200 or whatever the extra cost is can be used in way more meaningful ways.
  21. RRB, is this a streaming over an app service or do you have to get a box and coaxial cable? OH, and do you get any premiums for that $85? HBO, etc? HBO would be free for a year under the $85 plan. They have a pretty extensive list of streaming options that you can get their app on.
  22. When the first one went out Live PD was as predictable as expected. Some guy got caught with pot and he was upset cause he spent his whole stimulus check on it. I wish one could track how much went to illegal things like drugs. Probably just a comical amount.
  23. Still not as bad Bella Thorne making $1mil in a day on Only Fans with a 3 pack of "normal" pictures and replying to DMs. The newly 18 year old Bhad Bhabie is apparently going to be a lil more...revealing/NSFW. Her earnings for 6 hours is kind of incredible though. Bella Thorne's massive 24 hour earnings caused OF to put limiters in for new users on how much they can make until established. Under old rules Bhad Bhabie's earnings would have been easily north of $2mil.
  24. I could see this Brewers team gelling and really racking up wins down the stretch. The pitching looks to be potentially great and the offense certainly has potential to be above average. I wouldn't bet on it...but I could see how it would simulate that way. However it mentions a 6 game gap between the Cardinals and the worst playoff team (Braves)...so how bad did it project us over the Cardinals? Not sure I would start projecting us to be over 6 games better than the next NL Central team. A lot of it comes down to the 3-5 spots in the rotation. Our offense probably can't keep up if those guys underperform and become a revolving door. However, solid performances like we got in 2011 and that could really push this team to a lot of success.
  25. The way Hader pitched there if we put in Pina we pretty much have 6 outs to get in a guy from 2nd base.
