  1. Have a nice night y’all, I’d rather watch my dog relieve himself.
  2. We all making jokes, but just wait till one of the bums in our lineup ties the game on a homer.
  3. Brewers TV ratings are going to plummet if they get no hit tonight.
  4. Yah, what are they suppose to do? Do the gauntlet every time someone strikes out?
  5. Omar Narvaez will turn it around. He has always shown to hit...so he should eventually figure it out. Avisail Garcia? He honestly isn’t that far off his career norms believe it or not. Urias? I’m not sure if it is the fact the team is so bad on offense we are desperate for anything else, but I feel as though Urias is being overly hyped. He may become something, but I don’t know if he is worthy of clamoring every time he isn’t in the line up. People act like he has been some massive unexpected loss through these first few weeks. Was he even making the team in a normal 162 game season?
  6. Yup, that’s the problem I haven’t seen mentioned. Even when they start playing that’s great, but they would still have a month and a half of baseball to play. Any kind of outbreak, even tiny, would make their entire season a disaster and put in doubt even playing 50 games. They better all just make their own bubble. There has to be some kind of cutoff.
  7. Saying this team is built for 162 games is just a poor excuse. Bad is bad. Sure the pitchers were expected to grow over 162 games, but Houser has been great, Peralta has been decent, Burnes has done well, and the bullpen has been great. All the inexperienced guys have been really good. The problem is Stearn’s veteran acquisitions...which have been anywhere from disappointments to disgraces.
  8. It’s trash day at my house, time to load the Brewers in.
  9. The Cardinals are expected to have their Friday game postponed after another positive test. They plan to drive to Chicago and hopefully play Saturday.
  10. A half decent throw and they have him at home pretty easily. No a guarantee running in like that...but you should be able to make that play at the MLB level.
  11. Sigh, so what is everyone watching at 7?
  12. Counsel is all in on playing righties against lefty pitchers and lefties against righty pitchers. Nothing else matters unless your name is Keston Hiura, Christian Yelich, Ryan Braun, or Avisail Garcia. That’s how the team was built and they are going to ride it whether it works or not it seems. Urias and Pina aren’t playing against a good righty pitcher unless Counsell sleeps in and misses the game.
  13. I think the Reds have just been a trending breakout team because baseball is in love with predictive talk like that. I feel most young teams with some promise/big moves automatically get that label. It seems very clear the Brewers went out to the scrap heap, filled up a dump truck, and took it back to play matchups/platoons. This is the exact reason Pina was somehow sitting for Narvaez even though Narvaez has been garbage all year. Pina doesn’t even have that bad of splits either. Gyorko also was sent to the bench hot for match up reasons. All year Counsell has stuck to the platoons no matter how good or bad someone has been. Well, it hasn’t worked very well.
  14. Hard to believe just two short years ago he finished 2nd in Executive of the Year voting. Yes. The thing is Stearns has proven to be a smart guy who does well with some bargain bin types. Just not an entire roster made up of them. It’s been much too short of a time to know if Stearns is good or bad at anything.
  15. Opening Day, 2015. The one time I went to opening day and the last. The worst value in Major League Baseball. 10-0 blowout
  16. .450 SLG % and .800 OPS for his career so far ... the Brewers could use a hitter with those stats on this year's team I'd say. Career numbers do not mean that is what you’re going to get, unfortunately. He’s really had one stellar season that helps inflate his career numbers a bit with a few solid ones before that. Then he fell off the cliff and hasn’t found his way back. He’s just not a very good hitter on top of being a lousy fielder. He’s just not good. He didn’t fall off a cliff...his one great season does seem to be an outlier though. He has posted at least a .740 OPS every single year of his career. Garcia? He has done it a grand ole 2 times and has had two more years in the MLB compared to Santana. Garcia also has two sub .700 OPS seasons. I will take Garcia...but I think Garcia is a vastly overrated acquisition and not all that great himself.
  17. He plays L/R splits pretty religiously.
  18. Yah Yelich...that’s so funny. I’m laughing too that you went out and decided to play looking into the sun without sunglasses. Ha...ha...
  19. Sure, but I think MLB is trying to protect the interest of the COVID team just as much as any other team. I don’t think having a AAA/AA roster play is anything they want...obviously with the way they have gone about it. Almost seems like teams lobbied for MLB to protect their seasons at all costs. I doubt they want those AAA/AA squads getting shelled all the time...doesn’t exactly excite people. Those alt squads are bad, really bad compared to an MLB team. The offense would be comical and the pitching depth would be bad.
  20. Coaching staff would be the problem presumably. You’d have to have a whole coaching staff to go with the alts...that’s getting pretty messy in itself. Us having to play 37+ innings in three days is a joke though. Why do we get hosed and then some other team (say the Pirates) just simply has those postponed games canceled? The fact we were at the start of their little outbreak so early in the season is going to really screw us over.
  21. You shouldn't have been able to. If you're in the Minneapolis area all Twins games, home and away, should be blacked out. Teams make lots of money on local TV deals. The local channels make their money on commercials. The home market games are blacked out on MLB.TV to force you to watch the local channel so the ad dollars and TV deal money stays rolling in. Yup, the later is the reason black outs still exist...doesn’t have much to do with trying to get people to attend games. You could argue black outs are even more important and relevant this year.
