Woodruff came into the game with a 3.19 ERA and a 2.87 FIP. Fangraphs has him as the #11 pitcher in baseball. And before people complain about walks, he had the 22nd lowest walk rate in baseball coming into today. Tough crowd around here. -
Proposing Tatis Jr has to be close to getting banned. You have to just be trolling at that point. The good news is the Padres have a slew of good prospects even if Gore isn’t an option.

Eric Sogard hits a walk off from behind homer and we are talking about Villar? How does that even happen? Honestly, what a weird guy to come up. Hate this long after he is gone? He had 4.5 WAR in a few short years here. Orlando Arcia has lime half that in half a life time here. Why? Don’t get it.

I get it we have an elite closer and it’s pretty much his inning...but 30 pitches that have been almost entirely pathetic. He shouldn’t be in anymore. What are you doing Counsell? Hader going to pitch 40 pitches in an inning?! Dumb

I really hate it when catchers use those odd setups because it really limits their ability to block pitchs or to react to the unexpected. I agree with this, him kneeling every pitch is lazy. Pretty sure he was expecting a high fastball there though, target was at the chest level. With guys on base. Garbage defense.

Counsell should certainly never be sitting Hiura for a a career .750 OPS MiLB player who has never been super young for his level. Especially when that player hits from the same side of the plate. Glad Mathias has been decent in his 28 PAs, but it is incredibly likely he is no good at all.
