  1. Sorry to say, but Counsell is managing the team exactly how Stearns built it to be used. I agree with you however Gyorko's career splits against righties is better than Sogard's so after a game like last night I don't understand why Counsell doesn't try to ride the hot hand when the offense has been so bad. Even when Yuni was hot I was all for letting it ride until he reverted back. Believe me, I’d have Gyorko in my line up tonight. I just don’t think Stearns would actually do it any different than Counsell. Not to mention Stearns is the reason why Sogard is on this roster still.

  3. Okay, seriously. Am I dreaming? Offense? All game long? Whatever the pitcher looked at on the piece of paper did not work.
  4. Too much striking out to reliably manufacturer runs through bunting etc.
  5. 0% chance they don’t pick up that option on Phelps if he continues to dominate at an elite level. If anything they would pick it up and trade him. At his production $4.5mil is a complete bargain and I bet they would have zero problems paying that to him. Didn’t Stearns once pay $5mil to Neftali Feliz coming off a terrible year and hadn’t been elite in three years?
  6. I don’t know, but it ain’t going to be pretty the way this has gone so far. A lot of the baggage this year is gone next year, but not all. Lindblom and Avisail Garcia are both here in 2021. That’s about $15.5mil of sunk costs assuming you don’t allow Lindblom to get to 100+ innings and you buy out Garcia for 2022 (if they both perform badly again). I’m sure there will be some major arbitration increases next year as that makes up a huge majority of the players having any kind of success this year. After all that is taken into consideration I’m not even sure we have more available money vs. last off-season. If we do it probably isn’t by much. They won’t panic and replace Hiura or replace Narvaez. Both those guys will 100% have their jobs next year. However, there will be black holes at 1st base, potentially SS, 3rd base, and potentially RF. RF you are stuck with Garcia so one best hope he has a good year and SS we are either stuck with Arcia or likely Urias. 1st and 3rd base are almost assured to be new faces. Maybe Smoak returns, but at the very least his partner will be different I am sure. If there is a DH they certainly could put Hiura there to shake up the infield even more. Much like last year Stearn’s almost has an empty template for the infield. Hopefully he does better this time around. However, money will probably be tight even before considering the disaster financial year they are currently weathering. I’d expect a another cheapo roster hoping our bullpen and rotation continue to take big steps forward to power any type of success.
  7. If he isn’t back to at least All Star looking level by next May that would be my guess. Maybe he gets a free pass this year, but a slow start next year? Yah, I’d start getting a bit worried. We are going to pay him to be a perennial AS level talent. I’m guessing f he turns it around eventually. I can’t imagine he just turns into a not elite level guy like that. I suppose there are examples of guys who did though.
  8. Well if I wasn’t falling asleep before, Attanasio talking will surely do the trick.
  9. I’m sick of hearing about how Lindblom can throw 6 different pitches. How about he focuses on having a few decent ones. All I see is him throw batting practice every outing.
  10. Ryan Braun had one of the worst ABs of the year. Looked like an AL bullpen pitcher having his first AB since little league.
  11. I remember people always thinking Dim Tillard was the next great TV guy. ...erm, I’m not to sure about that.
  12. Target gives a free kit when you start a baby registry and they also give a 15% discount code to buy anything that goes unbought on the registry. The free “kit” is like a $100 value. I’m sure that is inflated, but it still gives some nice freebies no doubt and coupons. All you have to do is add something to the registry and then request it at the store. They recommend calling ahead to make sure they have the supplies for it. https://www.freestufffinder.com/target-baby/
  13. If anyone is wondering this is the first doubleheader in Miller Park history.
  14. Ha...no Aguilar, Shaw, and still Arcia. What a nightmare, not to mention we dumped Sogard in 2018 after being total garbage. Man if Aguilar and Shaw would have been long term hits we could be or already have a WS banner hung. So disappointing. My October 2018 self probably would imagine Hader and Yelich were both traded before 2019 if I heard that was the future infield. Imagine telling your October of 2018 self that the Brewers were going to lose under 60 games in 2020.
  15. You know what would have been really moving? They should have gotten equality shirts or something of that nature like the pre-game ones teams have done before, stuck their name/number on them, and then taken the field to play. Heck don’t even put your name number on it. No way MLB stops. Make them let you play or make them cancel it over your social injustice statement. What a moment that would be. To me, that would have been much more meaningful than canceling a game just to make another public statement on social media and then play the game tomorrow like normal.
  16. Once the game decides to make everything politically related does that mean we amend the forum rules to allow it? Only half kidding...but yah, we are essentially suppose to pretend this isn’t happening and once we resume like it never happened. Is what it is, probably for the best.
  17. We most certainly do not have OF depth. However, that is indeed much easier to fill at an average level (offensively) than it is to find a MLB competent SS. Despite an explosion of SS talent these days thanks to Latin America it is still hard to find a decent one in FA. That’s why we have had Arcia sucking it up for years. If Urias hits at an above average level that is huge.
  18. Everyone about to roast Woodruff over a terrible start: “Hold my beer.” - Woodruff
  19. He was out, we lucked out though because no angle showing air between Yelich’s foot and the bag. Thankfully we got the original call, one of those situations. What a turn of events too.
  20. The 529 is always a wise choice. Usually your states 529 is the best bet (usually state tax is deductible on contributions), but you can use another states 529 in some cases. 529 account has some other benefits down the road when they are going into college. I think on FAFSA you won’t get negatively impacted if you have a giant 529 account to use for school. You can get pretty aggressive in the investments (mine follows the SP 500) and even $100 a month can be huge 18 years from now. I started one when my son was 2...so that gives it a lot of time to grow. Whenever I tell someone about a 529 I always recommend to start saving for their current AND future planned children. you don’t have to wait till the 2nd/3rd and so on to start saving in a 529 for them. You just put it all under the first child’s name until the others are born, then you can just make a simple money transfer between accounts down the road. I have one child, but I save for two that don’t exist yet too. Hopefully they thank me some day when I tell them I started their college fund when they were -5 years old.
