  1. Haha, Sophie is awesome. I’d also recommend making sure you have a nice stash of higher quality anti-bubble/air bottles. I think I had Dr. Brown bottles. They are such a pain to clean, but wow they reduce spit up so much. Especially at a young age they worked great. They sell drying trays that look like grass and then flowers for the small parts. Seems kind of quirky, but I thought it was pretty useful...especially when washing by hand. That is usually the best way since the dishwasher doesn’t clean half the time or throws bottle parts around like a tornado. Be smart about buying clothes. I get it, the wife wants the cute onesie at Target every trip (or so it feels). That being said I always thought I needed way more clothes than I actually ended up using. I could open a store with all the unused clothing items through the first four years. Especially for the first year or two they grow fast, like really fast! Just do more laundry if you have to and literally save hundreds on clothes that only would have lasted months. The clothes for my child have almost exclusively been funded by Christmas, birthday, and grandparents. Target is a great store for baby stuff. Quality, good prices, and lots of cool things to have. Target has deals a lot of times and you can get gift cards for simply buying the essentials like diapers/wipes. Wal Mart is honestly pretty good too. Great place to stock up on simple cheap clothes. At some point buying a $10 onesie that is going to get pooped, puked, and grown out of in 3 months is just wasteful. You can usually get a nice bundle of 3-5 for like $10. Some things just don’t need to be fancy, look at Wal Mart to save money.
  2. I would hardly call Knebal or Jeffress "neglected 9th inning guys". Those guys were closers on good teams. When you have a good team, there tends to be a lot of late leads to protect. In 2017 Knebal pitched 76 innings. In 2018 Jeffress pitched 76.2 in the regular season and 8 in the post season. If this Brewers team was better they'd have many more innings for Hader to pitch. I was simply referring to one of the those guys being the strict 9th inning guy and allowing Hader to float around when needed. Those guys ended up pitching a lot cause we won a lot. The entire bullpen is going to be used to the max when you win that much. On a sub .500 team those 9th inning guys get underused much like Hader this year.
  3. I wouldn't say 'ole DJ has drastically improved the Reds pitching. Trevor Bauer would be good wherever he pitches. It also seemed more like a move to be home rather than anything else. At least that’s all we have ever been told on it. I’m sure that helped, but it surely wouldn’t have taken much to outbid the Reds and convince him to live in Milwaukee if we really wanted to. After it went down the Brewers never really made it seem like they really tried hard to keep him around. Reds gave him a solid salary for a pitching coach and we basically laughed letting him walk out. Seemed we had zero interest paying big money (in pitching coach terms) to him...which I can’t blame them because we are a small market after all.
  4. Hader’s previous deployment was also during a time when the Brewers had other high profile relievers around him Knebel/Jeffress and those guys were the neglected 9th inning guys. Now Hader is by far the most proven elite guy in the pen, thus why he is probably neglected as a 9th inning guy. It doesn’t have anything to do with Hader, his agent, and money. The Brewers make the decisions and there is really no reason they need to appease Hader...not like they would ever give him some mega reliever contract and are trying to make him happy for a future team friendly deal. They would be better off not having him close and reducing his arbitration salaries with him not closing games.
  5. What a terrible throw. A decent one and Arcia would have been out by so much he may have been able to get into a rundown because he wouldn’t have slid yet.
  6. It was fine....low pitch count and he was pitching great. Now Williams and Hader got to hold the lead He gave up a homer in the 6th and some other fairly loud outs all to the outfield. He certainly wasn’t pitching all the great in the 6th. It’s Brett Anderson, not Woodruff...pitch count shouldn’t be a huge factor for a reason to just send him out. I don’t have a huge problem sending him out there, especially since they had a quick hook...but we really can’t be losing this game after a pitiful Pirates series.
  7. It would be satisfying if we weren’t matching their dumpster fire play so far to date.
  8. No one could have predicted this years disaster and the fallout with tickets, but for next year I think some common sense should be used by people. If masks, seat limitations, or other things bother someone they should maybe just not renew. Maybe one should just avoid the April/May games so they dramatically reduce the chance of problems. If one has a 20 game pack they are a long way from the deadline to pick games. One could wait till next March I am sure to pick if they wanted. They won’t be a lot of reasons to complain next year. People will be well aware going in it could be an annoying mess. I wonder what season ticket numbers will look like next year considering this years team has been pathetic, how there were no fans this year, and next year could be a bit shaky getting fans in.
  9. They may be benefitting due to the logo/uniform change, but not having millions of fans enter the team store on game day has got to be beyond terrible timing for such a thing. A lot of that new uniform/logo excitement will now wear off before fans can see them in person while also being right by the nice overpriced team store. No doubt people will still pile into the team store next year...but im guessing it would have been way more beneficial this year.
  10. I thought it was a fair trade value wise. The only difference being Urias was the more premium position...thus why we had to give up more. Looking back at the thread I remember this being incredibly early in the offseason so it was hard to really judge it because we didn’t get the domino moves. Those moves ended up Garcia and average to bad pitchers in Lindblom/Anderson. That’s what irks me the most. We made a bunch of payroll cost cutting moves in the rotation (Anderson/Davies) to fill it with junk. The trade effectively made our 2020 team worse at the time of the trade and Stearns didn’t do anything to really change that fact. The offense just kept getting constructed as cheaply and poorly as possible. Ironically the only moves I truly liked (Holt and Narvaez) were the biggest 2020 duds of all. We still have the highest ceiling player in my opinion so this trade is far from a closed book and written into history. It was a big dud for the 2020 team though (so far).
  11. That’s an out if Mathias could make a decent throw. Just terrible low throw and his cut off man wasn’t even that far.
  12. Pretty accurate. How much I drink usually depends on how rough they look. Had quite a bit with the no hitter scares.
  13. Water, my latest whiskey shipment doesn’t arrive till next week sadly.
  14. Kyle Cody, a Wisconsin native of Chippewa Falls, got called up to the big leagues with the Rangers today. He has had an improbable road road to the bigs being drafted three times (late rounds, 2nd, and 6th) and despite a promising start to his career it was derailed by injuries. He has only pitched 5 rookie balls innings (2018) since 2017 and has never pitched above A+ ball.
  15. Perdomo will likely never be a reliable MLB pitcher barring a big change. Dude has no command...and never has. As a relief pitcher that won’t cut it, especially with smarter MLB hitters. If he ever becomes something I doubt it is with us. As a competing team there really isn’t patience for a wild thrower like him. Classic guy with a bunch of perceived potential, but has such an issue with command he is far far away from actually realizing that potential.
  16. By no means was Woodruff sharp, but he wasn’t exactly giving up rockets for hits. A lot of grounders and a fly ball into no mans land was pretty much a summation of his night.
  17. There's someone else on that table. I’m not shocked, he has been absolutely embarrassing this year. Really no excuse to be whiffing that much at fastball down the middle of the plate like he does.
  18. He has a chance to recover from this because the sports world isn’t exactly a place the LGBTQ community flocks to. There are probably more people loving his comment for comedy purposes and watching his career implode than there are people who are legitimately offended in the baseball/sports world. It’s bad...that world is beyond outdated and wrong. I’m not sure the context to why it was apart of a conversation, but saying that on air is pretty rough. He is in a career where it’s hard to rebound from that and get a second chance regardless of the severity in what is said.
  19. I thought that the second they replaced Hill. If you were going to replace your starter so early (with it still a legit game) why wouldn’t you take advantage of our already set line up heavy on the RH hitting by going to a righty. Instead they have now used two lefty relievers.
  20. Someone with a mask hitting the hand sanitizer bottle after the home run celebration. I will bet all my money that was Brent Suter.
