  1. The whole lease/loan thing really is a big scam. Pretty much locks you into a contract with no reasonable way out. The other possibility is many people get so used to the $40 a month it doesn’t seem like a big deal and simply upgrading to a new phone every two years is no big deal. It’s like a monthly subscription...a trap. Get used to the payment, forget about the payment, and sit there spending money on something you don’t really need.
  2. I’m surprised not a single team has the leadership to take extreme social distancing measures and really go out of their way to limit exposure. Having little to no coronavirus concerns could be the difference between the postseason (and postseason money) and sitting at home. An outbreak within a team could be season crippling. Doesn’t seem like many actually care about winning it all, just happy to be playing for that paycheck. Our supposed $200mil leader doesn’t even wear one and honestly the number of Brewers wearing one seems real low. Most of them seem to have kids and specifically younger ones? Someone should tell Braun it is pointless to wear a mask if he takes it off to talk to someone he is bumping elbows with every 10 seconds. They act like they got their 60 game paycheck and the quicker they spread coronavirus through the league the sooner they can go back home. If the season ends don’t they lose that prorated portion they never play? Players were wearing masks a lot before and during summer camp...now it looks like they don’t care about social distancing and masks. There is no accountability from MLB, but the players aren’t holding each other accountable either. For all the laughing about the NBA snitching phone line they don’t seem to have a team with 14 positive cases either.
  3. The Marlins knew of their health issues, went out there, and played. The players wanted to play and did so. People can blame Manfred, but it is foolish to think these players care more about protecting their health than making money. Price can blame Manfred, but watch every team around the league not social distance in the dugout, on the field, giving high fives, and many more things. I can only imagine what they do when they aren’t on TV. Manfred is not the cause of any outbreak across the league. That’s on the players and teams not taking enough precautions.
  4. What exactly is MLBs plan? No doubt they expected this for many if not most teams. They allowed themselves essentially zero time for make ups. It isn’t a huge deal if it is two same division teams early in the season. But inter league or late in the season? What an epic disaster. All great if said team sucks and means nothing to the playoff field, but if not one team playing 50 games and another 60 is problematic. If the plan is crazy double headers or even triple headers, sigh, clown show continues.
  5. 0% chance Many teams have already inferred there will be no fans.
  6. A team with 25 wins is most certainly not making it, even 28 is really unlikely. I haven’t seen a projection where even a .500 team makes it.
  7. They are trying to give him some mental confidence or something...seems dumb to me me, but whatever.
  8. That is a cotton plug of some sort cause he had a bloody nose.
  9. Not exactly a perfect bunt if you are the only one aware of it...pretty much gave the Cubs a free out and possibly costed us a run. Makes it tough on Gamel if you just decide to safety squeeze without warning.
  10. If you are 18 you probably don’t even know who Sandusky is.
  11. Ummm video game crowd behind the plate...nice test, but let’s not.
  12. Haha we literally have done this to the Cubs before. Amazing.
  13. Cubs 35-25 Reds 33-27 Cards 31-29 Brewers 27-33 Pirates 23-37 We will see how this season goes, but I’m not overly impressed with our squad in 60 games. I’m nervous about the offense and we have some pitchers that are low on experience...namely Burnes and Peralta. Houser isn’t experienced that much himself and Lindblom got picked up out of the Korean league. I would have expected us to start off slow and grow stronger as the season goes on. Unfortunately this year is only the start of a regular year with it being 60 games. If they are to make the postseason the starters will have to outplay what their experience would usually provide.
  14. Sogard and Hiura has to be one of the worst arm duos to have on the field at once. Double noodles.
  15. I don’t mind the rest of it, I like the jersey after seeing it in one of the scrimmages. Though I feel the yellow front hat kind of clashes with the jersey. The hat makes me think retro and uni makes me think of a college uniform (which always feel very trendy modern).
  16. Yellow fronted batting helmet...yikes. Not feeling it.
  17. There are probably going to be no more than 6 teams that will suck so bad to be truly out of it at that point. You can only trade off your 60 man roster which makes trade targets for the acquiring team incredibly limited...and not all that attractive. Guys controllable past 2020 are probably very unlikely to be traded. If players get traded it will likely be minor BP arms, bench players, and other not all that attractive players. Part of this year that will be interesting is reinforcements and outside help mid season isn’t happening. I think some moves happen...but it will be pretty quiet unless a horrible team has a soon to be free agent at the end of the year. It that happens the bidding war for that player would be real interesting.
  18. I don’t mind it from a competitive standpoint (for the Brewers). I don’t think we are all that good and our chances in a normal set up wouldn’t be that great. This setup MASSIVELY screws a team like the Dodgers who would have almost surely won their division and have a huge advantage in 5 or 7 game series. Instead we could play them in only 3 games or someone else could and knock them out.
  19. At least that selection show rumor didn’t end up happening...that was embarrassingly bad.
  20. Well, Yelich was also set to hit FA notably older too...Betts was not only younger, but also hitting FA after 2020. That being said a lot of people thought Betts and other bigger FAs were in big trouble to be hitting FA during the pandemic. Who knows what he would have gotten had he gotten a normal full year. Crazy thing: Betts was/is set to make $27mil in 2020 via arbitration. Christian Yelich will NEVER get paid more than $26mil a year in his extension...and that is before deferred money.
