  1. We are already over 1k, since last night. For the most accurate up to date amounts a Milwaukee based news site is best. They track the Milwaukee cases more frequently than DHS. DHS will only update once a day at 2pm.
  2. Even if it is a little more than just linear that isn’t too bad. We haven’t even really got into a timeframe that would be reflective of the stay at home orders. Where we are trending in a week or so should be pretty interesting...even more so in 2-3 weeks. Hopefully it does start to flatten out this upcoming week.
  3. Yup, do not tip those people anywhere. Target etc. also do not allow it as well.
  4. Yah, I wouldn’t expect that. Best you can help for is a credit that you can buy other tickets with...then sell. Maybe they just flat out refund, which would be much better. Teams are free to do what they want and I would expect that not all teams will follow the same rules.
  5. It’s the older generation (I’m generalizing here) that likes to think working at home destroys productivity and if your children are home you are going to be playing with legos all day. I actually think I am more productive at home. Comfortable clothes, no driving, saves me money, easier for my boss to contact me, etc. Wish I could do it more, but thus, some boomer is in charge of that rule. How is everyone’s school doing online learning? I guess my local district is having kids in elementary only hand in one math worksheet and do some minor reading. They also have other tasks they can do, but aren’t handed in. Including breaks/gym time they finish their work by lunch time. I get it is short notice, but seems pretty light.
  6. Look I am not saying people shouldn’t be able to, I think they should. I think it is far from something that should be expected though. It depends on the job obviously, teachers working at home is probably easily done with kids around. If you have to make phone calls or have meetings a toddler or younger is obviously not the most realistic. Daycares definitely saw an influx of requests. One by me I know refused to take on anyone new while another one was willing to. The state of Wisconsin actually relaxed daycare rules so they could do this, so I think there was a notable need across the state for it. Of course less than 48 hours after that Evers came in with the 50 person ban that they then extended to daycares kind of ruining that plan. I believe that daycare was going to work with the school to add 50 kids and have them under separate roofs then (rule is 50 max in one building), but I don’t think they ended up doing so. This situation is such unchartered territory policies for work establishments have changed almost daily. It isn’t easy for places to shift everyone to work from home in under 48 hours. Places have to learn what to do on the fly.
  7. Maybe because it's tone deaf and heartless? Again, if your employer has not, find a new employer when all of this is done. You find out a lot about a company (and people, too) based on how they act in a time like this. Work someplace where they put you and your family ahead of their personal profits. As I said I think most places have at least bent rules to allow people to “watch” their fairly independent kids. I think the problem is they don’t want people watching their 0-2 year old that requires constant attention so they don’t insert barbies head into an electrical outlet. I don’t think there should be an expectation and entitlement to watch your kids while working at home. I have never mentioned my employer, so I don’t know why you keep bringing it up. I don’t think most employers are freely just letting people care for their kids and stop working constantly all day. If so they must have one relaxed job to do. Parents also wouldn’t be lining up at my local daycares seeing if they can take on additional kids. I imagine it is similar many other places.

  9. What makes teachers special that they should be able to care for their children while working? He even said he wouldn’t be able to work as well doing it...what more needs to be said. If you think teachers would be treated 'special' by being allowed to work from home during this and caring for their kids at the same time, I'd suggest that you should look for a new employer. Both my wife and I have specifically been allowed to work from home by our separate employers so that we can care for our kids, and almost all of our friends and neighbors have too. I think it is pretty reasonable for any employer to not allow people to watch their kids while working at home. I don’t think that is absurd or ridiculous. Many have allowed, many have not. I know some have bent their typical rules to where it is, “Well if they are pretty much self sufficient we won’t make a fuss.” As mentioned a lot are also allowing staggered schedules that would not be allowed under normal conditions...or working out of normal hours to get it done. It doesn’t have to be that way for teachers, but at the same time I don’t see why there is some expectation they should get to watch their kids while working.

  13. Are they going to ban tagging? /s Anyway, this is all moot since MLB/MLBPA just agreed to the following conditions to return to play: I have no idea what #1 is saying? What is economically feasible and how does it apply to playing a game at a neutral site? Having the game on tv in front of no fans makes tons of money so... I’m guessing it refers to (example) NYC being a Coronavirus hotspot so they move their games to Detroit as to avoid Coronavirus hot spot that still has mass gathering bans. That’s my only theory.

  15. That is how it is for most people. Is what it is.

  17. No refunds...that is a likely outcome. My understanding that one of the theories was to hand out a “credit” to alleviate the problem of people losing valuable game tickets. Being forced to exchange Opening Day for a weekday Reds game would cause an utter uproar. It would be almost impossible to even fairly let people exchange as the remaining good games would be almost sold out and especially in good sections. Thus people would get a credit worth what they paid for the ticket originally. That being said I have zero idea how that would work for season ticket holders since they don’t pay more for specific games. I do know more than one team has floated that idea. It will be a mess, a glorious mess.

  19. Really? If no games are played, players still are getting all $ on contracts? Players are still accruing service time? They are getting a portion assured. If games are played it is prorated. They will indeed accrue service time regardless. Players will also not be penalized by paltry counting stats of a shortened season. So that means a guy like Hader will still get a huge arby bump even if he only throws 20 innings. Draft could be as low as 5 rounds this year, 2021 as low as 20 rounds. There is a toooooooon that isn’t clear by what has been released. It isn’t clear how service time works if a shortened season happens and a player isn’t on the roster the entire time. Vesting options are still a mystery as are yearly bonuses based on counting stats. There is a lot of conflicting information, but my understanding is in a lost season we may not lose a year of someone like Keston Hiura. We will, however, lose one of the last remaining cheap years of Yelich on the flip side. It’s messy to put it simply. https://www.nbcsports.com/washington/nationals/mlb-reportedly-reaches-deal-players-issues-stemming-coronavirus-pandemic

  21. In the event of no season the likes of Mookie Betts and Co. will be free agents. Anyone with a full year last will accrue a year this year. It’s a tough loss for any team, but definitely is a gut punch to small markets with many young players where they will lose a year of them when they are so valuable.

  23. A Florida man is claiming the "game changing" drug touted by Trump cured him overnight. I haven't seen much outside of that on that cure.

  25. Haha I forgot they are kind of irrelevant these days. Point is I think the slight risk of poor conditions (cold) is much worth it over neutral sites. Something 100% assured to be embarrassing for the league. The attendance alone would be sad and the lack of fans for each team would be even more embarrassing. If you want to showcase how no one likes baseball and/or is boring then neutral sites is a great idea. The Cardinals had a hard time fully selling out HOME games last year in the NLDS and they have an almighty great fanbase. How is Miami going to sell out a fraction of their stadium for two teams no one cares about down there? $5 tickets? I just have a hard time seeing that and to be honest I don’t want to.
