  1. I doubt Brown county had an explosion of cases due to the election. Mainly because no other place is seeing such an exponential increase. Unless there was a rogue poll worker licking each ballot it doesn’t really make a ton of sense.
  2. Saying 401Ks are substantially worse is really inaccurate, especially without fine details of said person. When one gets into the pension (and leaves it) is a pretty important detail and how much they contribute is a pretty big deal (which tends to be a lot more than 20+ years ago). If we are being technical one would probably want a 401K for the first half of their career and then a pension for the later half. That probably is the most beneficial.
  3. Pretty sure the order does say no elective procedures etc...that being said I think the one that will go into effect will allow that stuff again.
  4. I hate SS and I am not really a fan of pensions either. The things I would do to be able to use that SS money for retirement myself.
  5. Definitely not, many Wisconsin small towns don't have a grocery store period.
  6. My understanding is the Brewers requirement is HOF and obviously a big impact as a Brewer. Therefor Ryan Braun seems really unlikely. Yelich is obvious if he makes the HOF. Not an assured thing though. I’m guessing sports teams will eventually have to do what college teams do and retire name/number, but not actually retire it. I know Kansas Basketball does that and I’m sure many other teams/programs do it similarly.
  7. My friends in Georgia are sure they had it at thanksgiving. All the symptoms, knocked out for a week+. When able they’re going in to see if they have antibodies. Have more than a couple friends that were sick with the same thing in Nov/Dec. What is that going to tell them? They could have gotten it and been asymptomatic in all these months after Thanksgiving. I don't know what was going around in November, but it wasn't coronavirus. Way too many people are trying to make a similar claim. As Homer said it would have blown up way sooner than it did if it was actually coronavirus going around.
  8. They way I look at it is if we approached them with Fiers alone asking for Phillips/Houser I’m guessing they say no. Also maybe they were willing to give up Santana/Hader, but it just wasn’t quite enough for them to give up Phillips too. Part of Phillips value may have been traded for Gomez...but since you can’t trade half a player you gotta add something to even it out.
  9. Georgia’s quite late and still lackluster stay at home order probably does not help their cause. I’m sure everyone could come up with a “wonder if that was coronavirus” sickness they had recently. Odds are incredibly low it was coronavirus unless you are aware of someone you came into close contact had it. Even people deemed necessary to get a test don’t have coronavirus 90% of the time (Wisconsin).
  10. Since I have no one to impress I would rather not shrink my cubes and make them smaller. Since usually you would be stuck with a cloudy side to chip off a little bit. I have a friend who does it for any sports party we do. He does the method that involves putting water in a small cooler to put in his freezer. Then when his little thin block of ice is ready he takes it out a chops it into cubes. It’s pretty cool, but probably because I’m not the one putting in all that work for an ice cube.
  11. A silicone tray to make giant square ice cubes was one of my single greatest purchases ever. I have a sphere cube one too, but the square ones are bigger and last longer.
  12. …...jeez man....
  13. They don't have to go that far. Dodge County has 19 cases, Jefferson 23, Green 9, Columbia 24, and all the counties that border the Green Bay/Appleton/Fond du Lac areas have very little cases. Really no reason those places can't be apart of an "opening up". Unless of course you decide to create a buffer around those major areas...but I am not sure how well that will go over. I do wonder how much benefit opening up things like that will even do without the confidence this has mostly passed over and better treatment is available. Is it really worth the risk if everyone doesn't want to leave there house regardless?
  14. Are minor leagues even playing in this concept? It is irrelevant though, each team has countless fields they could play on, not like there will be fans. Attendance is basically zero at those rookie leagues anyway...sometimes free to go watch anyway.
  15. Opening up parts of the state is a fair question, but I think part of the problem is the willingness of people to then travel to those areas. What exactly would be open? Restaurants and bars? Retail stores? There would definitely be a large quantity of people leaving Madison/Milwaukee to have some freedom to do those things again. I am not sure that is really a wise plan because of that.
  16. I’d definitely be happy, but to finally win a World Series only for it to be like that would almost suck. No one would ever get to experience a game the entire season from the sounds of it and we’d be hoisting a trophy in an empty stadium. Not to mention the wacky realignment and everything else. I suppose it is a little better if by the end of it fans can be there, but best case sounds like a neutral site postseason? Again, somewhat lame. If you said I could have a championship this season or wait another 20 years...I think I’d opt for waiting 20 years. Part of why it would be so rewarding is beating the likes of our division rivals we play every year, 162 game marathon, postseason excitement, fans packing Miller Park for a World Series etc.
  17. I’m ready for them to cancel the season so I can stop hearing their latest stupid concept every single day. At some point the season is so radical it wouldn’t even feel like actually winning the World Series. I’d need to put a giant asterisk by it. It would just feel wrong.
  18. A quick google search and you will find a lot of articles on why these things tend to pop up in China/Asia. Personally I am surprised it doesn’t happen more often.
  19. Yah, but you are ignoring the fact they could have certainly got someone else for those players. Both of which were decent prospects and Phillips obviously was pretty highly rated at the time. I bet if one asked and they were honest no way they say they would go back and still trade Phillips/Houser for Fiers. From a purely baseball performance standpoint and ignoring his whistleblowing ways of course. We will never know what they could have possibly gotten instead for those guys, but I don't know anyone in Houston would say they won that portion of the trade
  20. I don't think that is completely it. Many of those models took into account extreme social distancing over the long run. Yet they have dramatically reduced from prior projections. I know weeks ago one of the popular ones said we were already a week too late to avoid a doomsday scenario as far as overwhelming hospitals in Wisconsin even if we started social distancing. Yet now we aren't even projected to use 1/5 of our hospital beds and essentially have no ICU bed shortage at peak (now April 13th). I can't imagine trying to accurately project something like this so I am not exactly surprised it is seeing big corrections with real life data. That was bound to happen.
  21. No sure what the answer is, but keeping everyone inside for the next year+ isn't a viable option...it just isn't. We can't wait around for a vaccine. Stay at home orders aren't going to eradicate it. At some point we have to figure out a way to go back on with life the best we can without taxing the healthcare system too much. Not saying we have to open up communities this month or even next month, but we can't sit at home waiting for something to magically end it forever.
  22. There is going to be a second wave, that’s just the reality. We are going to have to go back outside before a vaccine is ready. People aren’t going to sit inside like jail all summer. People can’t mentally afford it nor can the economy handle that. I’m not sure how long we can lock people down, but months on end is probably not going to work.
  23. A lot is unknown, but I think that theory is getting a bit far fetched. I’m not saying this goes for all those people, but I think that theory is giving a lot of people false immunity. I know more than one person who jumped on that bandwagon and is not taking this as seriously now. I’m going out on a limb and betting their are flu-like illnesses that aren’t the flu or COVID-19. I’m also betting there are many reasons a flu test can come back negative and you have the flu. I’m guessing a huge amount of people think they have the flu every year and get a negative test. Now because of COVID-19 they are suddenly assuming that must have been it.
  24. The theory that tons of people had COVID-19 in November is incredibly unlikely and doesn’t make much sense. It just doesn’t add up. How did a bunch of people have it in November that didn’t go to China or even out of their state and then it doesn’t blow up until March? Fauci and many other experts have already squashed the idea.
  25. He only pitched terrible for the Astros...I think that is what kinda mattered to the Astros. I don’t think they care about how he was with the Brewers or the A’s. Not sure that was really that much of a win for the Astros. He pitched well down the stretch in 2015, but that was about it.
