  1. He seems to make more than his share of rememberable plays, but when you look at it he is still just a .246/.331/.379/.710 player. While he has had quite a cold streak overall he is no better than say Keon Broxton was...who, in my opinion, was better defensively. I won't complain...fine for a back-up OFer, but not really anything hard to find.
  2. He'll be fine. No concerns yet with his job security. He's pushed a lot of wrong buttons this season though for sure. Doesn't at all resemble the mastermind he looked like last year. But he's not going anywhere. If 2019 and 2020 are both disappointments then things could change. Like most masterminds when 9/10 keys work you look pretty impressive always getting the door to unlock. I don’t mind Counsell overall that much, but even last year he wasn’t anything special.
  3. That ball was destroyed. Line drive hit the fence at the top of the bleachers.
  4. [sarcasm]Alcides Escobar is available for a reunion.[/sarcasm] I will go Yuniesky Betancourt, he hardly strikes out.
  5. Just think. Arcia already has 4x as many homers as last year and sports an OPS of .655. That speaks volumes about how horrid he was last year and even after vast improvement in a problem area...he still sucks. Time to move on from him next year.
  6. I find it shocking Thames has never lead off this year and has hardly batted second. 3rd highest OBP on the team and his walk rate likely rivals anyone on team. Sure, maybe not terrible he hits 5th often...but jeez. He could actually get on base for people.
  7. Can you really take what lineman do in a scrimmage seriously? I would imagine the more injury prone offensive lineman wouldn't put in much effort to avoid injury and the fact you can't get to the QB anyway. Because falling on Rodger's leg and hurting him would likely end in a permanent ban from the league. When I watch bits and pieces it seems most are just practicing footwork and the first 3 seconds of a play. I could see where someone actually needing to perform or someone who always goes 100% looking like JJ Watt.
  8. Feel like he left out important details, so I added.
  9. I think they view Black as a project. His inclusion in the deal was likely so we weren't trading Dubon for a rental. Gives us something for Dubon long-term.
  10. $5mil is hardly much, especially on a one year deal basis. He was one of the best 3B in the game the two years prior. someone would take a flyer on him. I would say with 90% confidence he probably gets offered arbitration. Why? Because $5mil once again isn't much and you have to decide before December. If they find something better in the offseason they can just release or more likely a team will take him on. I just see little risk in offering it.
  11. I guess I am a bit surprised they wouldn’t roll the dice on Dubon when Arcia has sucked for years and they don’t seem to be fond of him anymore. Sure these pitchers may have some “interesting” features or promise...but hardly more than Dubon. I guess I don’t get the excitement for those pitchers. We can find similar value/potential pitchers on the scrap heap 365 days a year.
  12. It was pretty clear when they added no meaningful starters they didn’t feel like investing in this team and would just roll with what they had. Whatever...I don’t care if they try to make a run instead of trading Grandal/Moustakas. Both would have returned very little to us. Did we get better? Sure, marginally...kind of a crapshoot with two months to go. Guys can go on a cold streak or hot streak. I do not think they sold in any form of the word though...they just went with minor additions.
  13. Sure and I get that...for what it is worth that is what I think they should have done. He should probably be playing for Wisconsin this fall, but instead he has another wasted year and has to hope a team picks him up in 2020.
  14. Not Guilty =/= Innocent At least not automatically. If he feels he was wronged go after the accuser. The university didn’t have much choice at the time. Is what it is. I guess kicking him out of the school may be debatable...but he has to be suspended off the team etc. He should have no problem getting with a new school if he is believed to be innocent by society. If not then what did Wisconsin do that was so bad if no one will pick him up now? Sounds like they are like any other school towards him.
  15. What it tells me is they would likely have extreme difficulty trying to add major impact talent without using MLB resources...much like it took in 2010/2011 when we got Zack Greinke. Think Burnes/Peralta this time around as pieces required to add controllable talent. But can you blame those rankings? Most of our Top 10 has underperformed and didn't have crazy projections as is. I think we have a lot of interesting potential players, but their current value is not going to be high as they are too far off and too risky. We don't have near sure things now that Hiura graduated.
  16. Official bags? Yikes, that will go over well. “Hey want to bring a bag? Buy this one or don’t bring one at all!” Yaaaaaaaaah, no.
  17. If they call up Supak and two of Perdomo/Ponce/Devin Williams/Griep/Rasmussen, I think they could do well enough to make the playoffs and win. Whether or not that is true we will never know...because they simply won't do it. That is all I am saying. I expect a veteran acquisition.
  18. They are either going to acquire someone or they are pretty much saying "we give up this year". I expect the prior...even if a minor veteran type.
  19. I actually think the Brewers hire the screeners...could be wrong...but I thought they did. It typically comes up in their job postings which omits the food service/parking lot jobs they don't hire themselves.
  20. Well...if they know it is poison will they just leave? I don't really need to kill them like they are in my house. I really just need them to not want to climb the tree to the camera.
