  1. Shaka Smart is a nice coach, but he isn’t a great coach. I think a lot of coaches in the B12 can be judged by how they do against the likes of Kansas. Smart is always out coached by a wide margin. A lot of B12 teams can give Kansas a run for their money, but Texas...not really. Considering the recruits he has had he has done a poor job by quite a lot. Watching him a lot I don’t see the interest in him.
  2. Gomez may not be what he once was, but he is what the MLB needs more of. Just a great guy who plays the game with passion.
  3. What an absolute sad failure and look for the Wisconsin program if true. Two guys pretty much joined at the hip, wanting to play together, and parents really wanting them local to watch them choosing to not take the option the have all that. It was a golden opportunity for Wisconsin and almost a slam dunk once no other program had two scholarships. Pretty shocking they would rather go off to different states and not play together over a short drive to Madison where they could play together. Man, brutal for Wisconsin. Shall be interesting to see if that is the case.
  4. Please direct my to the city that doesn’t have constant heartbreak outside of San Francisco and Boston. I will wait.
  5. Was it that Malika Andrews story on ESPN? I hope that was because Giannis was annoyed by the BS reporting and not because it was something that leaked from his camp. Though I really don't know how big of a camp he has that decides such things as he seems to keep things pretty close to his family. As much as one would think Giannis is loyal to the Bucks NBA players want to win and sadly it is fairly easy for them to get paid the most and get pretty easy championship runs by bolting. We will see how long he loves Milwaukee if they can’t even get to the finals. He doesn’t seem like the kind of guy to bolt that fast...but I guess you never know.
  6. Yup, Logan is a solid comparison, NOT. His 1.350 OPS against him via LHB is really comparable...come on Briggs. Just the most basic research could tell you how ridiculous that comparison is. Logan couldn’t get anything out and most importantly got destroyed by lefties. They would be dumb to ditch Claudio. They just need to use him right and I assure you his value will then exceed what that pick was worth. People don’t understand how worthless that pick really is. It holds very little value. You can cling to how he could have been the next great thing, but reality is that pick was almost assured to be nothing. Not to mention whoever it was wouldn’t be anything for the next half decade in any likely scenario a too...making it’s value even lower. Even if it was the wrong decision the value loss is so ridiculously low why it even deserves a thread is beyond me.
  7. The most important person to the Bucks future is not Giannis, it isn’t Middleton, or any other player/coach. It is Jim Horst. Because this team is not some young core of guys controllable for years. You have the holy grail starting point in Giannis....but man, he has his work cut out for him to put difference makers around him and have them be an elite force.
  8. What a tough way to end a great season. Go up 2-0 in the conference final and then look like a deer in the headlights four straight games in a row. And Bud just falls asleep to seal the loss....yikes. I mean I know one should be thrilled with the season overall. The way it ended is more a slap in the face to really sour it. They weren’t ready to play elite teams in the playoffs. They simply weren’t ready for the big stage when it got serious.
  9. I’m really shocked they didn’t just foul right away...wow. I guess Leonard is almost an automatic...but damn.
  10. Yup, that was some sad execution at the end of a game. You gotta be better than that.
  11. Stop it. Who's going to create this superteam? KD and Kawhi going to the Clips is about the only way. I'm not worried about KD and Kyrie going to the Knicks with zero depth. And Giannis is 24. As long as they can keep the young guys, they'll be just fine. When will there not be a super team? Whether in the east, west, or both? I think the Bucks are in a bad position with Middleton. They need him to be relevant next year, but is it worth it to overpay him? Personally I think they are better off taking a step back for a year or whatever by passing on giving him a huge contract. But that is just me.
  12. IDK about that, but it certainly didn't help. The silver living is that he'll think it is either way and come back better. This really sucks, but I won't lose sight of what we have in him. Hopefully years from now everyone's talking about this series changed his career. Absolutely. We have the most important player in NBA on OUR team IN Milwaukee and he wants to stay here. And he's not gonna go join a super team in order to make it easier, I'll bet money on that right now. Just like that, Giannis going back to what he does. Back to a 1 point game... He may not leave to join a super team, but others will around the league. Unless he convinces someone else to join him and come to a place like Milwaukee I would bet he never wins a championship here. I don’t see how Milwaukee will ever create a winner without a second superstar to pair with him and if they can’t get that via FA how will it be done?
  13. Solid post judging a move in retrospect. If LOOGYs were so easy to find we would be able to find them...yet the last 10 years have been filled with mostly terrible ones that can’t even get lefties out. Claudio can, but they insist on using him like he is a normal reliever and throw him against righties constantly. AND GOOD RIGHTIES. That pick is overrated and the slot money is too. Hardly a loss. But people will complain and mention how it could have been the next Mike Trout when 95% chance said player never gets to AAA.
  14. I don’t think Shaw is getting activated upon being done with his rehab if he is going to continue being an absolute bum down there too. Keston has been serviceable...not great, but average. I think that coupled with Shaw still hitting like crap would make Keston the logical choice. As long as Keston is holding his own might as well let him start. At some point they just have to accept Shaw was terrible in ST, terrible so far this year at the MLB level, and after rest can’t hit AAA pitching.
  15. Sigh, come on Braun. How many times are you going to embarrassingly miss a fly ball this year? You have to catch that.
  16. I’d strongly guess that was called for...so more like bad coaching.
  17. I will never forget his rookie year when he dove into a chain link fence in the outfield. Loved him instantly after that...to dive, not jump, but to literally dive into the fence is beyond normal effort.
  18. I think a lot of Cain catches get overly glorified...but man...guy is getting a well deserved gold glove this year.
  19. Yelich with #20. He did that last year. On August 20th.
  20. Middleton has the Bucks right where he wants the Bucks...just like an NFL team and a QB. Either they pay him to try and stay relevant or become good but it great. I think the Bucks has their golden opportunity this year...sadly for them. Maybe Giannis finds a shot to be a true elite top of the hill player...but without it I think it will be hard for them to win a championship with him. Only because I am not convinced they can recruit the players needed to come pair with him. They want LeBron or Curry.
  21. Taylor or Dubon would be solid guesses. As long as we are talking notable guys. Though Taylor, notable, kind of a push. I feel like he should be turning 40 this year. Honestly is there even another notable option.
  22. I could see it ending exactly how it is right now...except maybe Braves over the Phillies...but Phillies still in the WC. The notable thing is the playoff contenders seem obvious Dodgers Brewers Cubs Braves Cardinals Phillies Maybe some other teams hang out in contention, but I think the above are the real deals. Rockies might be a darkhorse, Pirates a real big dark horse.
  23. Correct, after the six years he is free to sign with anyone. I saw something about the Japanese team needing to post him...but I don't see why they wouldn't if that is the case. I would guess it's because he would still be under control of his Japanese team which has him for 10 years, even though his contract is up. That is what I assumed, but regardless at that point he is either good enough to draw interest from the MLB (where the Japanese team would take the money for posting him) or he sucks that much and might as well stay in Japan or retire.
  24. "Milwaukee Brewers: Mauricio Dubon (2047). In one of the great heists in trade history, Dubon came over from the Red Sox as part of the Tyler Thornburg trade in 2016 and ends up winning four batting titles, stealing more than 300 bases and playing good shortstop for more than a decade with the Brewers." While searching for that old blog post, I found a recent post (March 2019 on mlb.com) that had Braun as the Brewers' next HOF player, which is even dumber because now that they have Yelich it should be a much easier choice. I think I would bet on Ryan Braun resurrecting his career over Yelich not only staying one of the best in the bigs, but resigning with us at this point. Braun is at 46.8 WAR on BRef….which ~60ish usually points to HOF. If PEDs become a thing of the past among a few other mini miracles he could make it. Of course I am not that serious...but I also think Yelich in the HOF and as a Brewers is crazy ridiculous too.
