Haha I am okay with my hot take That being said, yah, look at our yearly prediction thread. Everyone is stupidly wrong on something. Solid reason why I avoid absolute hate or love hot takes though for the most part.
More interesting they are looking a fringe pitching options with so many internal candidates. You would think if they looked at pitching it would be more high end. Not if some of those internal options are on the trade block. Hence why I said it was interesting.
Every year I see, "I don't want him he has declined" or "He is a shell of his former self" Then I look at our current pitchers and see none of them hold a candle stick to the player in question. Sad life we live on the pitching front.
It would greatly depend on what Greinke's no-trade looks like. If he put teams that might trade for him it would kill a ton of leverage the D Backs would have. However knowing Greinke and his mental health issues he deals with I am betting it is mostly big markets...which in itself causes a road block with his salary.

Well one would first need to figure out what Zack Greinke would get on the open market to figure out what exactly he would be worth. If you plan to give little in prospect value 3/$48mil isn't even close. I would say taking on $70mil or so is more realistic. He has still been really good the last few years. $23mil is not a crazy yearly salary for him despite his age. At $48mil there has to be a solid $15mil-$20mil surplus value. Greinke makes a lot of sense to be honest...a lot. Throws 200+ innings and is more impactful than some give credit for. I also think he will age well. Not sure we have the payroll room to have him on the books for $20mil+ a year though and I don't know giving u good prospects would be wise.
It is crazy how "disappointing" he was in the first half and he then ended up as the runaway MVP favorite by the end of the season. His second half was just unreal. For the first three months he was really no better than he was in Miami. Which was not really the expectation going from Marlins Park to Miller Park. Should be interesting to see how next year goes. Is he actually anywhere close to what he did in the second half? Hard to know what he really is when one half of the season was just goof offensively and the second half was off the charts Barry Bonds.
Which I get, but I think that is where a lot of the frustration comes from. You have some guys used to dominating every year and being a Super Bowl favorite (though I rarely believe they are). They are going to be frustrated and I don't find that as a bad thing. I want these guy to be mad they are average...furious. The defense has had some bright spots so far which gives hope. The new CBs look like they can be solid and there has been some pass rush. Safety is brutal though. That has to be fixed. Right now Tramon Williams is getting a lot of time there. That is not going to work. Are we going to start a rookie out there next year? I hope not.
I am with you...at worst it didn't seem worthy of such a quick change. Though I am sure new ownership loves putting their mark on the team. I am probably one of the only ones that likes their bright green and blue seated stadium though...While it is in your face bright it is so Miami and really is fitting.
There is a lot of frustration between Rodgers and those rookie wide receivers. You have Aaron Rodgers throwing to you...all he needs you to do it run your routes correctly. I believe each of the two main rookies had a costly mistake. One had a stupid block in the back penalty and another failed to turn up the field on a screen pass thus having the ball wizz past him. Both of those were going to be huge gainers. I recall Rodgers being upset on another play which I am guessing someone ran the wrong route and that was also one of the rookies. You can even see the frustration in Adams. I get they are rookies, but they seem to constantly run incorrect routes 9 games into the season. James Jones absolutely ate when he was with us because he knew what Rodgers loved to do and always put himself in the perfect spot...same with Jordy Nelson. I would be interested to see the overhead tape for entire games. When Rodgers scrambles guys don't get open like they have in previous years. It is like the current group doesn't have a knack of getting open when Rodgers scrambles.
Here are full details on everything: https://www.fishstripes.com/2018/11/16/18096793/miami-marlins-buy-new-uniforms-merchandise-on-sale-2019-our-colores-black-blue-red 1. The logo that was thrown around early yesterday is actually the secondary logo (one on hat). The primary actually has a baseball behind it. 2. I liked their bright orange uniforms....these blue ones, not so much. I think the bright red would have been preferable over the new blue. 3. Marlins fans seem to like them. 4. The design reminds me of when you are in a hat store and all those weird off the wall color combo hats are available. It follows a non classic look much like the D Backs tried with their uniforms. 5. The script on the front just seems blah.
HaHa was rated as like the #2 safety or something when we traded him. Not sure what stats figured that out and not saying I agree with it, but I recall it being mentioned. So I think he was better than 50 year old Tramon Williams running around in circles 20 yards from the guy he should be covering. Not sure why you think I’m venting. If I was doing that I would moan about McCarthy.
Last time you went to the eye doctor? I see the ball popped out but his arm was under it, every time I watch it I never see the ball hit the ground. It hit the ground and not only that but it wobbles so bad he clearly had no control of it.
Hey thanks dude. Don’t think I ever said HaHa was some difference maker or having him would make a difference. Just that it was an obvious sign/move that they weren’t serious about the season. It made them worse.
Yeah I'm not seeing this. Ha-Ha wasn't good. He was pretty big disappointment and had become a malcontent. Somehow, the real problem on this team is the offense. It has talent and looks good but just has no rhythm to it at all. That last-ditch drive was very telling. Not even a pulse there. Pathetic. Like I said...even if you thought HaHa was average the replacement plan is a garbage can low on batteries barely moving. If you think trading him made the secondary better...well sorry to hear that. Obviously they didn’t care about their season when they decided to make a patchwork secondary for a marginal draft pick.
Packers punted their season when they trade HaHa. Whatever you think of him losing him has made the secondary pretty embarrassing just when it looked like it actually knew what it was doing.
