  1. Big Takeaway here: I was pleading for a Hader "real hair" bobblehead at least a year ago thinking of the absolute brilliance it would be. I know it has been mentioned before sometimes part of the Brewers front office (possibly ones doing promotional related things) have visited the site in the past. I was hoping my comment would be seen and the perfect bobble would be born. Because of my comment or not I hope it happens because it would be great.
  2. Arizona isn't much of an issue if you ask me. It isn't like no one wants to support them and they may be forced to relocate far far away. They want to move out of Phoenix, but sounds like that won't be an option for years. The real issues are Tampa Bay and Oakland. They need to figure out their deal before expansion can happen.
  3. The only thing Texas could do is go independent like Notre Dame. If Oklahoma bolts you can bet other schools would look to go too. Yeah you can add schools to replace them but that doesn’t mean the revenue or the prestige of the conference would be the same. I think what would be the most likely to happen is Texas would either join the Big Ten or the SEC. They will decide it unless the entire Big 12 gets up and leaves at the same time. The problem with that is the top conferences already have 14 teams. The B1G specifically refused to add more teams because they didn't want 16+ teams with the current Power 5 set-up. They were set to lose too much money if the Big 12 didn't disband. It especially doesn't help there doesn't seem to really be any reason Oklahoma would want to leave. If Texas doesn't leave and Oklahoma doesn't leave I have a hard time seeing the Big 12 faltering. As much as some teams may not care for Texas and the Big 12 it is going to be pretty hard for another conference to take them on without a Big 12 disband.
  4. An "aging disappointment"? Yeah we really swung and missed on that pick... You don’t have to think everything so seriously. If you don’t think Braun has been widely dissapointing recently well....don’t know what to tell you.
  5. Absolutely zero? I'm not sure any team is going to sign him as their everyday SS. He'd have as good a chance here to rebuild some value as anywhere else. It sort of makes sense because on a one year contract to show he's healthy he'd be a good bridge to Hiura at 2B. So he intentionally is refusing to play anywhere else so he could get released. Then it that case he can definitely find someone else’s DL to play on.
  6. Absolutely zero chance he is going to sign here. I just saw he got released because they wanted him to move off SS and he resisted the move. So unless we are sticking him at SS good luck.
  7. We already have an aging disappointment from the 2005 draft, no thanks.
  8. Really brilliant if the Bucks stay good. They may only gives those picks up when they suck again and don't even care.
  9. He liked it here and I seriously doubt he is mad or has anything against us. We literally let him go to have a chance at a full time job. He should be happy we did what we did. He is a bright guy and admitted in an interview it made sense what we did. That being said pretty sure Stearns already shot down this idea.
  10. First off holy crud the NFC sucks. Second the Packers chances at the playoffs aren't as depressing and dismal as one thinks. If the Packers win out (which I don't think is that crazy) they wouldn't need a ton of help to get there. I think the key is next week. There are four teams in front of us. Vikings by two games and three teams .5 a game in front of us. If we win out that means we just need those three teams to lose one game. Which I would say is likely to happen. Redskins - They suck after losing Smith, they will lose at least one more game. Eagles - On the road against the Rams and then a home date with the surging Texans. Panthers - Have to play the Saints twice in three weeks, pretty easy to assume a loss. The real question past us winning out is if the Vikings can lose two more games. The Vikings haven't looked great, but their toughest games Miami/Chicago are both at home (Detroit away). With that I think this week is key. If we win against Chicago and the Vikings lose to Miami I think one could start thinking about they playoffs again.
  11. The fact he just launched into Rodgers without any intention of using his arms should be enough. Forget the timing and where his helmet was. In college football that would have been a pretty malicious targeting play. It was quite a bit worse than many penalties this year and even before this year. If he came at him with the front of his body and looked like he was trying to make a tackle it would have been acceptable. That wasn't even an attempt to tackle him. It was just taking a free shot on a QB.
  12. For who? Just the Brewers? They would have to be mighty high on Ray and mighty high on Santana. The former no one was high on last offseason before he stunk up the joint.
  13. Money would hardly seem as a problem. They are loaded with expendable guys they could trade to make space. Anderson and Thames being the main guys. I would easily give up Peralta or Woodruff to make it happen, plus other decent pieces if that is all it takes is one of those two headline. I will roll the dice on Kluber staying healthy and not aging when it doesn't take Burnes or Hiura. Dude has been one of the best pitchers in baseball for half a decade.
  14. I don't give the hit on Rodgers a pass. He launched himself and lead with his helmet...a pretty clear tackle (or spearing) the NFL has tried to get rid of. I could see giving him a pass if he dove and tried to, you know, use his arms...but he did not. He turned, launched, and pretty much became a spear tucking his arms in. The first thing that hit Rodgers, a helmet straight into his shoulder. There was no attempt of a real tackle.
  15. Good, I would rather watch and listen to the FSWI broadcast.
  16. I couldn't find a super up to date article, but isn't Texas one of the Top 3 colleges for sports revenue. They can and will decide any "super conference" becomes a thing. If Oklahoma leaves with someone, even then, they could just add someone to take their place. As you said, why would they anyway? Super conference moves rely on Texas moving because no conference is going to risk having so many teams and have the Big 12 not actually dissolve.
  17. If they had any intention of giving Philbin a chance to keep the job I think the Packers woukdnhave said something. If they dominate most of the remainder of the season...I mean...why not give him a chance, potentially?
  18. Because Kemp only has one year left. Question is why would the Dodgers do this? They want to get rid of an OFer. Not just swap and still have the same problem.
  19. That was a pretty miserable drive for the Falcons. Throw it backwards to put yourself out of field goal range...but no wait. Let’s send out the kicker who has a bad back and couldn’t hit from anywhere near that range in the pregame. Lucky that pitiful decision didn’t cost them points. Packers had a pretty short field.
  20. You can’t even get a minute into a game without wondering why you are watching such a garbage product. Can someone please make something else worthwhile to watch on a Sunday.
  21. I’d say super conferences are inevitable, but to have that happen you have to get Texas to leave...and I don’t see why they would want to do that. The Big 12 wont survive that so that likely means you wouldn’t have to deal with politics surrounding in state teams splitting. I don’t think Oklahoma leaving assures the Big 12 dies...I think Texas is the only way for that to happen. The B1G won’t add teams unless the Big 12 disbands because without it they would lose to much bowl money etc.
  22. First off I don’t see Texas and Oklahoma leaving. They can dominate financially in the Big 12 and they can reach the playoffs easier that way. As a Kansas fan it was a rumor last year (after someone from Nebraska made some comments) of Oklahoma and Kansas jumping over to the B1G together down the road. That seems a bit more realistic to be honest. Kansas recently started $300mil in improvements to their football stadium and brought in Les Miles. If they turn around their program they could be an attractive addition with revenues that rival other teams they have recently added. Of course politics can get into it and breaking up in state schools can be hard. That was something that killed Kansas potentially joining the B1G the last go around.
  23. Dont care on the rules. This is my answer as well. Great pick find Plush. This is baseball and a rarity for a draft pick to make the team the same year. Barely 50/50 to make the Majors to begin with. Picking top-line talent and letting the kid find out what life is. You dont get your way when playing sports til you are a FA. Go ahead, dont sign, spend a year or more hoping to retain your talent without serious injury. And certainly delay youtself from the big FA payday. Ace on staff, or future MVP bat at 3rd base. Yep easy choice I know I'm REAL late to this party, but there are several guys who've stated one thing and done another. For instance, Josh Bell wasn't siging under ANY circumstance and was going to school at UT. Then when the money was real(and well above slot IIRC) he signed. That doesn't really change the draft plan here.
  24. Right, most I know get 5ish. Which I think is fair considering the long breaks they gets at various times of the year. Converting the sick time to PTO isn't realistic. Sick leave is more an insurance policy for yourself so being sick doesn't make you go broke and not be able to pay the bills. Your employer doesn't want you to miss that time at all, but in the terrible case sickness/injury puts you out then they will give it. I think everyone should have the ability to let it carry over though which I think most teachers don't get. Then over the years you can slowly build an insurance policy incase you get put out for months. If only school districts actually cared about their employees wages/benefits, instead they spend money on stupid things. And the benefits that leave something to be desired go way past just the teachers in districts.
  25. When you pick your profession you get the perks and you get the cons. That is life. Teachers get plenty of personal time away from their duties. Is most of that scheduled for them? Sure, but once again you decided on that. Teachers can’t constantly be taking time off. If you get zero personal days a year I get the gripe...if not, I don’t get it.
