  1. Voting - Perfectly fine. Send people the fans want to see. Player Vote - Fine, who do the players think is deserving. Though it needs to be voted on closer to the game. Manager Picks - Good, fix any snubs. Final Vote - What fan base is more offended by their snubbed player. Not every deserving person is going to make it, some that aren’t deserving will. Those guys will be fan voted though and rating or who people want to see matters too. The current system needs a few tweaks, but it’s honestly pretty good. I think tossing out the 1 player minimum for each team rule is a horrendous idea. I can’t believe it even gets brought up by people. I wonder if the manager should pick all his guys and then if at the end he is missing a certain team THEN go and pick someone from that team. Do it all behind closed doors and make sure both teams are even. No need for a concrete number yearly. The game may not mean anything, but players can get huge bonuses for making these games. Getting snubbed for someone who isn’t that good, but got there by fan vote or the 1-player minimum rule could be. Acostly decision.
  2. Every time I see gold glove and Yelich mentioned in the same sentence I just chuckle. He is a solid defender and all, but wow was his defense overblown when we got him. His arm is just a total joke.
  3. The most logical is actually Peralta whether you want to accept that or not. The Brewers have been talking to the Orioles for awhile now one would assume. If the Orioles were going to scout someone in the bullpen or a bat they would have been here the entire series. Only other logical choice would be Nottingham if he always catches Peralta. That being said even then the scout would likely be here the entire series incase he played in another game. So definitely not a bullpen guy, but maybe Nottingham. Likely: Freddy Peralta.
  4. The Brewers have already been toying with innings of some MiLB players haven’t they? Obviously the current front office limits innings so thinking Peralta is going to blow by 150ish innings is a total pipe dream and not realistic.
  5. Doesn’t seem like what Stearns would do.l Yah...and three weeks ago trading for Machado was not a Stearns type move. It was almost offensive to even mention it. Now we are rumored a front runner putting together pretty substantial packages together to offer. Maybe we just don’t know what Stearns will do with a really good team. Something he hasn’t had before this year. Hasn’t even had a true contending team planned from the winter prior. 2017 was more a surprise. I keep telling people it’s too early to start assuming what Stearns is going to do or won’t do. I don’t think that offer is anywhere near what is a potential deal from Milwaukee’s side, but appears we are dangling good players.

  7. Rare all your deserving guys make it on a team this good and so many candidates. Especially when outside of Cain and Hader no one was really a lock to make it. I was a bit surprised seeing Yelich make it and originally didn’t think he deserved a nod, but upon inspection Fangraphs has him listed as the #5 OFer in the NL. So definitely a deserving guy. Then again they have Schwarber as a positive value defendener....hmmm.
  8. I've always thought this was funny. On top of already knowing how good Machado is, they can watch him on TV. In fact, with baseball, the only thing I would guess you see better in person - and this depends on the actual, physical view you have - is non-baseball playing-related things like body language, teammate interaction, etc. And those probably don't mean much. Defense, can’t really see defense. You miss a lot of things before the camera angle switches to the fielder. Sometimes they show a replay, but a lot of times you won’t see a lot of their first instincts. This is especially true with OFers. So no doubt any team looking at Machado is going to send a scout out there to see him play defense. Likewise as someone else mentioned you want to go to look at body language that might throw any red flags.
  9. So even after biogenesis where I am pretty sure players were caught never failing a test we still assume a player was definitely clean because he never failed a test. Not sure about that.
  10. Josh Hader pitching and you sac bunt with a left coming up. Honestly, that seems beyond stupid.
  11. We don’t “need Britton”, but adding him would still be huge for this team assuming he can get back to his former self. I don’t know why having a really good bullpen makes adding to that pen a joke. Bullpens are 7-8 guys deep. Even we constantly have a trash guy sitting out there. For a team that is obviously trying to go bullpen heavy (Burnes moved to pen/starters pulled early) this makes a lot of sense. I don’t personally put a lot of value on him, but I wouldn’t mind if we got him for a flier or two.
  12. Hide Brown? So they don’t see how good he is? You know how you hide Brown. “No”
  13. Burnes was sent to the bullpen in AAA and now we are going to trade Peralta to put him in the rotation? I doubt it. If that was the case he would go back in the AAA rotation, have a couple prep starts, and then be in our rotation. I think trading Peralta is becoming a stretch because he has pitched pretty well at the MLB level. If we trade Peralta and Burnes bombs that really takes away from the gain we get by acquiring Machado.
  14. Time to shrink the depth of the system: Brewers acquire JA Happ. Brewers acquire Machado: Brandon Woodruff/Marcos Diplan/Lucas Erceg
  15. I can’t think of one reason why we would even consider Gilbert Lara. He has been complete trash and has shown little to nothing. Even past that he would never last an entire year on an MLB roster. He is closer to flat out being released than sniffing the 40 man roster.
  16. -Still have a shot at 60 before the break (need 6-2). -We are hot on the tail of the premier rental Machado. Even if we lose out him going after him likely means no matter what big addition(s) are coming to Miller Park soon. -Just beat a playoff hopeful 3-1 in a four game series.
  17. Yah, really hope we hold them to a field goal.
  18. Yikes, a bunch of big markets. I’d love to be proven wrong (will do my part), but I predict 3rd place finish. I know everyone wants Aguilar to make it, but jeez why act like the other options are all trash? Personally it should be Muncy or Aguilar just because I feel the AS game is more about featuring offensive talent and not defense. That’s probably a wrong way to look at it, but for reserves that’s what I like to see. That being said most of these guys have higher WARs than Aguilar. ABs all equal most are likely comparable. I don’t know much about the others, but Aguilar has been so huge for the Brewers and had so many big moments. That with the stats should have gotten him there. Sucks if it doesn’t.
  19. Doesn't take a lot to connect the dots that Woodruff is the headliner in a potential Machado package. Where are you getting that? He said connecting the dots, so just an educated guess. I’d have to agree with him though. If MLB ready pitchers are the target (or pitchers in general) he makes the most logical sense. Trading Peralta probably isn’t happening and Burnes is likely off-limits. Next best in line is Woodruff. Solid prospects, but not too much to give up for a rental. I’d at least say Woodruff is likely a piece being dangled for Machado.
  20. No he isn’t. Brewer fans don’t vote like they used to back in 2011 or so when we actually voted guys in. Cain was one of the best players in baseball befor ehis long injury stint and was nowhere near a spot. We used to have all our players (even terrible players) in the vote rankings. He is far from a lock. I’d actually say he would get nowhere near winning it in all likelihood. Aguilar is a write in. If you think any group of fans is gonna get a write in voted in, you're nuts. Did I say that anywhere? He said Aguilar is a lock to win the final vote. How? That is just like the normal vote and fanbase powered. Last I checked the standings the only players we had showing up on the leaderboard were Yelich/Cain. The highest ranked was like #7/#8 in the OF. Sorry I don’t think we vote as well as we did years ago compared to other fan bases. Before we would have average guys top 5 at their position whether they deserved it or not. Not the case any longer. Not saying Aguilar doesn’t deserve to win it, but I don’t see how he is a lock to “win it” and I don’t know why my comment deserves a “Wow, just wow” comment.

  22. Eeeeee! Scary! It is but DS has stocked us so even giving some things up will leave us in a good spot still for the future. That’s what’s awesome about the work he has done. Next man up... Yah, we could get a solid starter and Machado without shedding too many tears. Probably all that witout giving up our big three so to speak.
  23. Wait why? I do not remember many people saying they had to offer one of those guys to get Machado...?
