  1. Simply precautionary. He didn’t even go to the clubhouse.
  2. I know Phillips has a strong arm....but now he is being compared to Chris Sale? Is he this year's Nick Ramirez?
  3. I don't know how the Brewers allow such a garbage approach and swing out of Arcia. He is just so bad at everything with the bat it is frustrating. How? Just how... It isn't even consistent. He keeps wanting to go back to the horrid leg kick stuff.
  4. Fans brawl in upper deck at Miller Park during Friday's Brewers-Cubs game https://jsonl.in/2GIFGBp Can confirm it is the Brewers fan who was the instigator here. I know who the Rodgers jersey doned fellow is and have seen videos taken before this....he said, "No I won't stop and yah I am looking for a fight."
  5. Obviously Ryan Braun is being DFA'd.
  6. He didn't overreact at all. When a player has a bad week and suddenly we have to start asking when he is going to be DFA'd is kind of overreacting. Hypothetical or not to even be wondering such a thing is jumping the gun by a year or so.
  7. I highly doubt Braun just fell off a cliff and is going to be a sub .700 OPS guy...there just is no way. It would be almost impossible for him to be DFA'd. His history here, the huge contract, and most importantly he is made of glass so sticking him on the DL all the time would be really easy.
  8. Go look at the price for tickets to a Saturday game when the Braves come to Wrigley...that is way more than even our inflated prices. For premium seats, WAY cheaper. Add in other costs to go to a game and it is easy to see why they avoid their own stadium like the plague. That is what is funny. They brag about invading Miller Park...but no one mentions how much they hate their own teams stadium. Be real proud there Cubs.
  9. That is really scary then because Villar has a pretty good approach at the plate. He just has a decent sized hole(s) in his bat.
  10. I could probably count the amount of players in baseball that would have ended up at 3rd there on two hands. Players just don’t hustle on a play like that often. Because 99% of the time the player catches it or is a homer. 99% of the time? Its a little thing, but it cost us a run. You can rationalize it if you'd like. Not rationalizing, that’s professional baseball. 162 games usually causes players to not hustle on plays like that.

  12. Good thing those aren't the most important stats out there by any means. I will agree the defense has been putrid however. Except those are two of the areas we were told we were going to see significant improvement. In the outfield....
  13. Im not in the position to link it...but the Padres/Astros ending...wow...just wow. Just when you think you have seen it all... (Appreciate if someone can link the play)
  14. Going to a game is about the experience. The experience going to a Cubs games at 5x the normal price as any other game is not a good experience. Bottom line. The Cubs fans will be there anyway and will sit in good seats anyway. Is row 6 really that different than the first row? Really? How do they know a Cubs fan is even buying the ticket. Does StubHub warn you? I mean really?
  15. Jonathan Villar is putting the ball in play and letting his wheels do work. His BABIP is high, but there is a reason for that (yes, obviously it is high). The power is there, just hasn’t been in situations where he is really trying to mash. The guy looks fairly good at the plate. We should not be having a conversation debating what we should do at 2B. Villar doesn’t need to be above average. If he is great, but average offense will be fine.
  16. The Cubs just walked two pitchers in a row almost on 8 straight balls....wow.
  17. Here come the comparisons to last years team below:
  18. I guess. We went from 2nd and 3rd 0 out to 2nd and 3rd 1 out so it's not really much of a positive for us. Cain vs. Sogard at 3rd is probably a positive.
  19. You mean SS, because the guy at 2B has an average almost 3x higher. lefty can't play SS, that would surely enrage the baseball gods haha but they can play 2B?
  20. Don't mind Ryan Braun just chilling in LF picking dandelions on that play.
