  1. Yah I try not to get excited about one outing. Everyone lost their minds over Hader a few days ago and the very next day he blew the game.
  2. Hasn't been very consistent throughout his career. I don't hate on the big splash idea(and his age is very attractive), but I think the cost will make it a very risky venture.
  3. Umm Hader threw the pitch...how is it not his fault he quite possibly blew the game?
  4. I mean 200 K pitchers don't exactly grow on trees. That have to miss bats at an elite pace, stay incredibly healthy, and be consistent. I am a little surprised we only have that many 200 K seasons, but let's not act like 208 Ks by Doug Davis is terrible. That is a pretty fine season. For a small market it is really hard to find.
  5. You must have missed all the posts saying "he doesn't throw enough strikes" and "ignore the ERA, he hasn't been very good." Your point? It was factual comments then and it was backed up by statistics. Today he threw 12 pitches for 11 strikes. So he has found out how to throw strikes and is doing better. How does that make the comments a few months ago hating when they were right?
  6. I don't know anyone that doubts his bullpen ability. Actually...no one. Sure. Agree to disagree. Seen the comments. Feel free to find them. If we are referring to when he first came up it was definitely justified. His control was all over the place(really really bad) and didn't deserve big innings. Just because he is doing better now doesn't erase the fact how eratic he was before and how his results were lucky to an extent.
  7. He has haters? Plenty. Many doubters. I don't know anyone that doubts his bullpen ability. Actually...no one.
  8. Well we have three hits in a row(including a double) and we have scored none...so wouldn't shock me.
  9. What a terrible AB for Turner. Does Nelson huge favor chasing ball 4 by a mile and watches next pitch to K.
  10. He was doing us a favor by getting ejected. I am kidding...but he has been terrible for quire a good amount of time now.
  11. I think it would be a .512 talent ball club actually.
  12. I wasn't even focusing on the Cubs. I just mentioned it was a three team race while also including the Cubs in it because if we won the division good chance the Cubs would be right in it for the wild card. We shouldn't focus on anything honestly. We should hope to win games and look at the standings evenly. The division is very alive as is our wild card chances. It changes weekly. At one point it was division or bust.
  13. It seems to be a three team race for the 2 wild card spots. Brewers(or Cubs)/Rockies/D Backs. At this point I just don't see the Cardinals crawling back into it. They would need both the Brewers and Rockies to tank down the stretch.
  14. Which I don't think anyone would disagree with. However to put ourselves over the top and really win a lot of games we need rare commodities. That is the problem being outlined in this thread. We have a bunch of commodities that aren't so hard to find necessarily.
  15. Matt Garza has kind of imploded his value the last couple starts. Brewers are in an awkward spot with him. Leaning towards ditching him in the rotation if they really want to make the postseason.
  16. Good luck fixing it. That was how this team was built and a lot of our prospects are the same way. Power and aka are a thing we have to accept. Maybe you find someone who doesn't K a lot for second base who is more OBP/contact oriented? Maybe you trade Thames and get someone with a higher AVG? Not a lot you can do. This offense is pretty set unless you start trading starter level guys away and try replacing them. I doubt that happens.
  17. The comments here are already great. The inning should be over. Not only that, but any other pitcher people would be complaining about how we got squeezed on the missed strike calls to alter ABs. Then his catcher dropped the ball so instead of an out a run scored with no out being achieved. Matt Garza gave up a single and a walk...his team decided to give up three runs.
  18. The Brewers are 2.5 games back of the Cubs for the division, and 3 games back of the Rockies (5 of the Diamondbacks) for the Wild Card. It's probably just as likely that we catch one of the Wild Card teams as it is that we catch the Cubs. We are winning the division.
  19. A little irrelevent talking about wild card implications for a division winner, but Jimmy Nelson would no doubt be the man for it. It is a show up or go home game. Jimmy Nelson gives you the highest ceiling in any given game and that is what you go for even i he has more "choke" risk. Can't play it safe in a all o nothing game.
