  1. Thank god he is doing well. Now we have a prime example of why you don't dump a worthless player two years before his contract ends. Couldn't stand the people pleasing to dump him even before last year. Now he is one of our best starters this year.
  2. How does one get so offended over an announcer? Why get all bent out of shape? It's almost comical how much it irritates some people. You are mentioning little minor things I have never noticed before. You might as well mute the TV. No way any announcer would please you.
  3. I live in FL so I'd love it if the Brewers' spring training moved to FL. Come to SW Florida and join Boston and the Twins. This. But be prepared for the backlash on here. You know it rains sometimes in Florida and the parks are so far apart. :eyeroll: Well rain sucks and the Cactus League all sits within an hour of eachother(so they say) and the Grapefruit League is filled with big gaps(up to 3.5 hours).
  4. I live in FL so I'd love it if the Brewers' spring training moved to FL. Come to SW Florida and join Boston and the Twins. I thought Florida is what Attanasio wanted for money reasons? From a baseball standpoint I would rather them find a new home in Arizona. Either way hope they can get something going and stop playing in a dump.
  5. Keston Hiura is going to fly through 3 levels next year and be ready for 2019? I love Hiura and think he can move fast, but penciling him in is jumping the gun. He is mashing A ball pitching as a college draftee. His numbers are almost meaningless.
  6. I have been saying it from the time this problem started, why not Gilbert? Surprised they still don't have a team. Hope the Brewers can work something out there. That is a nice area that is being built up on the south side of town. But we are Brewers fans so more years in garbage Maryville...of course. My guess is the Brewers will be too cheap to convince Gilbert to build a brand new stadium and will stick to Maryville after some renovations they don't have to foot $20mil+ of the bill for.
  7. Loved that pick from the start. Brewers got their toolsy OFer without spending their first pick on it. He would have been at the top of the first round if he had better speed. Probably will move to RF, but he will provide above average defense there. For a high school guy he could be a fast mover with good plate instincts and already shows in game power.
  8. I think Trent Clark could be a good break out candidate next year especially if he gets the bump to AA so he doesn't have to hit in such a pitcher friendly environment. He is about to be that age a lot of guys see their power show up. Trent Clark has shown a lot this year with another aggressive promotion.
  9. Jacksonville stops the Shuckers winning streak at five on Thursday Corbin Burnes tossed five shutout innings and struck out seven in a no decision By Biloxi Shuckers Corbin Burnes lowered his season-ERA to 1.58 over 21 starts between two levels in the Brewers system. Biloxi Shuckers Box Score Quick Summary: It would have been one heck of a game if Corbin Burnes wasn't on a stricter innings limit. Corbin Burnes absolutely dominated the Jumbo Shrimp for five innings and ended his day by retiring eleven straight. He struck out seven batters, walking none, and throwing 45 of his 58 pitches for strikes. Unfortunately Burnes had a shortened day and the offense was just as lively as the MLB squad these days only getting three hits for no runs. In the end it was a 3-0 loss for the Shuckers snapping their five game win streak. Pitching Summary: On the mound, Corbin Burnes (5.0 IP, 2 H, 7 K) started the game while Travis Hissong (2.0 IP, H, 2 ER BB, K), Quintin Torres-Costa (1.0 IP, H, BB, K), and Matt Ramsey (1.0 IP, H, ER, 3 K) provided the relief. Hitting Summary: Gabriel Noriega (1-2) Javier Betancourt (1-2) Angel Ortega (1-4) Biloxi Shuckers Game Log 3 K inning for Corbin Burnes. Jacksonville Top of the 2nd Dustin Geiger strikes out swinging. Rodrigo Vigil doubles (2) on a fly ball to right fielder Clint Coulter. Alex Yarbrough strikes out swinging. Chris Diaz strikes out swinging.
  10. So the sky has been falling for weeks and the season is over, but we just gained a game on the Cubs and sit just 1.5 games out. The pitching has been amazing and still is waiting for Chase Anderson, our second best starter this year, to return. This starting rotation is going to be a really big deal if our offense can start scoring. This season still has a chance.
  11. Phil Bickford is back in action with AZL Brewers.

  14. I'd actually argue the new stadium did help attendance a bit. Probably would be more helpful for Tampa Bay. I have heard the stadium is in such a terrible location it takes half a day sometime to drive to. Better location and a better park would notably increase their attendance. The Marlins attendance would be even better if the ownership wasn't a bunch of cheap douches.
  15. Source? Proof? Highly doubt they go with a short bench to put him in the bullpen till September. I don't see a bullpen arm they are going option in favor of him. Unless they dump someone to keep him permantly in the bullpen for the year I don't see it. Not familiar if Torres or Drake can be optioned.
  16. Not really worried about Woodruff's option. If we start burning through his options I guess he isn't that good.
  17. Thought the same. He will figure it out and be better eventually...just a matter of how long and where. Just not fundamentally there.
  18. This is where I contemplate turning off the game because it is either over or about to be something I don't want to watch.
  19. Did he steal your girlfriend or something?
  20. Maybe we can agree to an extension where he gets sent to AAA every other week.
  21. To be fair we don't know what Aguilar said and it was also a strike.
  22. Another guy not getting a ton of love that I still really believe in: Kodi Medeiros. His ERA doesn't impress you, but some of the secondary stuff is good. Opponent BA: .222 WHIP: 1.22 K/9: 8.88 This is out of a left handed pitcher, who while still walking too many, is walking at the lowest rate in his young career. At just 21 years old I think he still has a lot of potential. Not to mention he has been great of late. He is going to put it together one of these days.
  23. I'm guessing no one has told him. Isn't it someone's job to inform him on said matters?
  24. One thing they have done a good job of even when not scoring. Sadly just not getting hits when we need them.
  25. Because that would require losing Eric Sogard(NO THEY ARE NOT DFAing VILLAR). Sogard has the better track record and had that little magical run when he was first brought up. I don't he is any better than Sogard will be.
