  1. I don't see a huge issue playing Kirk regularily as long as it isn't too excessive. Maybe they needed a mental day as both been horrible to start the year. Sometimes throwing a player out there non stop does more damage than good. We don't need to throw these guys out there 162 games. Look I would rather watch Broxton/Santana, but to think regular rest is doing anything to their development seems like a stretch to me.
  2. What do you base such a claim on? Scooter Gennett would be a total joke at 3B on his noodle arm alone. Add in his range and we might as well sign Bartolo Colon to roam CF.
  3. Dillard is only a prospect for the future broadcaster poll. Auggie is my #1
  4. Arguing about weed is almost as wasteful as spending all the money to stop it. If people want to ruin their lives with weed let them. It is fairly safe and will only effect themselves(generally speaking). Kind of like cigarettes, but not as bad. Why don't we make money off of these people instead?
  5. Say what? Part of the reason that team didn't get past the NLCS was because they were godawful on defense, especially Yuni B! The best team in history was 1982 anyways A significant amount of World Series winners in recent years (Giants, Cardinals, Cubs, Red Sox) had excellent pitching and at least above average defense. Marcum blowing out all four tires was a bigger issue.
  6. Mario Feliciano Joe Perrin Trey Supak
  7. Didn't really change much other than inserting some guys and putting Erceg higher. I was going to wait for more production to really bump him up, but I love his profile and have a lot of confidence in him. There was some potential shuffling in the 20 range I was going to do, but figure it is going to need a big overhaul mid-season and will just wait for then. Also want to expand my personal list to 50 mid-season as the depth is so strong. 1. Lewis Brinson- Brinson is the complete package. Something no other player among our top prospects can really say. He has a lot of potential and has shown it in the high minors. +0 2. Josh Hader- I don't think he will be the TOR guy some are dreaming of, but he could be a flashy mid-rotation guy or at worst an electric reliever. +0 3. Isan Diaz- This kid is legit and putting up great stats at Single-A. The power is there and the OBP skills are there too. Can't wait to watch him climb the ladder and the rankings. He may have to move to 2B, but his bat will play there just fine.+1 4. Luis Ortiz- I think he has a higher ceiling than Hader, but there are health concerns and he is farther off. -1 5. Lucas Erceg- Lucas Erceg looked pretty comfortable and showed a lot more power than one would think. He has room to build onto his frame and have legit power. That being said he was a college bat doing well at A-ball. Wont put him higher till he continues at A+ and AA. +5 6. Corey Ray- I know a lot of people weren't happy with drafting him, but he has all the tools to be a great above average OFer. He has started out slow, but I am not concerned yet. -1 7. Phil Bickford- What a player to get for Will Smith. Bickford could end up as mid-rotation starter or at worst a top of the line reliever. He is going to be a force one way or the other. I don't really mind the suspension at this point. -1 8. Brandon Woodruff- Woodruff has a solid arsenal with three above average offerings. He seems like a safe bet to be a #3 starter and for that reason he will be in the Top 10 prospects. He lacks the ceiling I would prefer in a Top 5 organizational prospect though. -1 9. Mauricio Dubon- What is not to love about this kid. High floor and a pretty darn high ceiling to go with it. He should be in my Top 5 mid-season if he hits again at AA. Heck he could find himself #1. NEW! 10. Trent Clark- I love the hit tool and even more so with his great OBP skills he has shown. He is going to figure it out and break out soon enough. -2 11. Brett Phillips -1 12. Marcos Diplan -1 13. Cody Ponce -1 14. Freddy Peralta -1 15. Nathan Kirby -1 16. Monte Harrison -1 17. Kodi Medeiros -1 18. Jorge Lopez -1 19. Corbin Burnes -1 20. Jake Gatewood -1 21. Ryan Cordell -1 22. Jacob Nottingham -1 23. Taylor Williams -1 24. Gilbert Lara -1 25. Mario Feliciano -1 26. Tyrone Taylor -1 27. Chad McClanahan +0 28. Brent Suter +0 29. Chad Pennington NEW! 30. Trey Supak +NEW!
  8. The reason Villar's defense is so bad is because everyone focuses in on it and nitpicks it. Players who aren't typically critqued for their defense don't have that problem. For example Ryan Braun on opening day. He had a great assist to nab a guy at the plate...except it wasn't even a good play. He bobbled the ball trying to get it and then made an average throw that he had to bounce to get it to the cut-off man. If that would have actually been a good send by the Rockies those two things could have easily made a guy safe. If you guys analyzed every player so close defensively they would all be pretty bad. Villar isn't great with the glove, but he is learning a new position and it isn't as easy as some make it out to be. Some players need some time to get used to the shorter throw at 2B and how they turn DPs at 2B. This conversation is happening months too early.
  9. Man you all need to chill for a bit. What next? Shaw MVP discussion? Davies demotion? Watch some baseball for a little bit.
  10. There is very little that is interesting about their offense. It is loaded with cast-offs from other teams we hope we can strike gold on. Most of them strikeout like it is what you are suppose to do. I don't get why people like this offense at all. Is it the fact we are throwing a bunch of darts at the wall and maybe we can add another Villar to it? Going into the season it looked like an average at best offense as a ceiling. Sorry but this is absurd. This is a fascinating and very dynamic offense that just strikes out too much. It won't surprise me if it is a top 5 offense in the NL this year, it is deep, talented and multifaceted. Sorry but that is your opinion. I like the offense generally speaking as I think we will add a few more players to the core(hopefully), but I don't think it excites me. Of course that could change if Arcia,Broxton, a catcher, and Brinson comes up impressive. Or insert some other scenario where over half of our unproven players become offensive forces, but that seems like a dream scenario. The offense is moving in the right direction though.

  12. I guess by your standards topper I am not apart of your inner circle...and I don't mind.
  13. Hitters acting like they just woke up at 3am in the middle of the winter and picked up the bats.
  14. He has really really good defense, but I think a lot of people got the impression he was legendary with the glove. That I just don't see. He is easily above average at a premium position, but no Simmons.
  15. There is nothing like early season reactions. Breath people...lets not throw the pitching under the bus or label Shaw something special yet. That being said holy strikeouts.
  16. Nothing is stopping you from making a GT and only mods can pin threads. I guess I kinda thought there was a select crew that did it. There are a select few that have the stuff to make the cool opening post you are referring to. One would have to look back and see who was typically in charge of that. Maybe they need to give the reigns to someone else to do it.
  17. Yup he seemed like a prime candidate to trade and be happy with what you got. We will see how things progress. He will still have ample time after the injury to show his value before the deadline(or before this offseason).
  18. Milone will be the starter barring some weird turn of events where they dump him and bring in someone else to start. Suter was told to be ready for bullpen work.
  19. Lara looked really good for second half of the season and started to click more. Feliciano may be the youngest player in MWL and even more impressive he is a catcher! Not necessarily hating on Lara just think he is a bit of a slow learner. Hopefully he can put together a promising year, but I don't expect it to show on the stat sheet all that much. I think the Brewers really believe in his glove to be pushing him all the way up to A-ball already.
  20. That is what I expected despite a lot thinking it might be Cravy. Milone is taking the rotation spot(we assume) and that leaves no lefty in the pen....insert Suter.
  21. Feliciano, Orimoloye, Webb should be exciting to watch. Maybe Lara, but I sense he will be more of a let down.
  22. Gennett was let go because he wasn't a starter anymore for us and had no versatility to play the bench. They wanted his LH bat, but he just wasn't a potential bench guy.
