  1. -Lucroy -Braun -Hill -Torres Going out on a limb with Braun, but he is hitting so well and has been fairly healthy. Gut tells me a team coughs up enough prospects to make it happen. Left Carter off thinking they may prefer to move him in the offseason with more suitors for his services. Garza is a bit of a wild card. I think a move in August may be a better chance after extra starts.
  2. One could make an argument to leave Braun off the roster...but it would be a pretty weak one. People need to remember there are always a ton of great outfielders around the league. Some of which play CF that in some eyes will give them a boost. For instance a 2WAR center fielder is probably better to have than a 2.5WAR LFer.
  3. Could say that about a lot of Lucroy suitors. Yes Lucroy is mashing pretty well, but unfortunately a lot of suitors are getting decent production from their catchers where they really aren't desperate. The ones getting horrible production, like the White Sox, just don't match up all that well.
  4. And yet Bud Norris turned a couple good starts into a trade to a contender. I understand he's a "veteran" and has "experience" but he pitched like crap for a few years but now he's worth it? I'll buy the innings and lack of track record but you can't tell me if you're the Dodgers you'd rather have Norris in your rotation than Guerra right now. Well Bud Norris changed something and it lead to his recent success. Something like not throwing his change up and instead using a splitter? Regardless I think scouts were big believers in that change turning into sustainable success. Personally I will take Bud Norris over Junior Guerra. Not that I really like either of them all that much. At least Norris has past success at the MLB level and has pitched 175 innings multiple times throughout his career. If I am making a trade for this year I would take Norris as he is the safer bet. Guerra just has too many question marks for me if I was a contender.
  5. Yah I actually don't think he is even a trade possibility period. What contender wants a guy who has not pitched 100 innings since 2013 and has only done it twice in his career overall? He hasn't posted two 100 inning years consecutively ever. If he averaged 6 1/3 the rest of the year he would clear 200 innings and that is before a contender would need him for the postseason. If I was a contender I wouldn't touch Guerra.
  6. And they paid him A LOT of money. It just doesn't make sense. They aren't going to trade one of the best prospects in the game and basically just throw away over $50mil.
  7. Think the Brewers should stick with him unless someone gives up a nice prospect for him. I would pass on lower level lottery tickets if that is what it comes too. At that point we might as keep him and see if he can string together a full season worth of starts and get something nice next July.
  8. There is absolutely no way the Giants are trading Shaw for Hill. That is just ridiculous. Maybe in a deal for Braun, sure. If for an infielder Villar could probably get him away from the Giants(plus more I'd imagine).
  9. I think he is saying the motivation just won't be there. Which is a fair assumption.
  10. Moving him to the T-Rats is a great idea, except Gatewood is there. I really doubt they send Gatewood to Helena and I don't think they would send him to Brevard at this point either. What do you do? Shift him back to SS? Does he have the ability to play 2B? Just a really weird situation. Is there a right way to do it?
  11. [sarcasm]Are you serious?! It is all about ERA.[/sarcasm]
  12. He doesn't really deserve that much, but in the large picture it really isn't that much regardless. Wish they could afford Horn, but we don't have near enough to get him. To get really into detail after a tax on the overage he would cost us about $1.65mil
  13. As mentioned they are college seniors and have no negotiation leverage. I'm guessing neither was a Top 10 round talent to add to it. The Brewers intentionally took them so they could save pool money.
  14. No it would have a really negative effect on the Brewers attendance and revenue. How? Almost double the number of home games. Two Reasons: We don't own the AAA franchise. So what are we gaining? Even if we did it would take a lot of ticket sales from the Brewers. AAA tickets are way cheaper to buy.
  15. When is Corey Ray suppose to start playing in games?
  16. He didn't dominate HS. Maybe he does before you consider he is 7 feet tall and possibly half a decade older than some of his competition. He should have been the Stephen Curry of big men. Scouts say he just didn't stand out when he should have. I'd be pretty concerned having a guy who can't standout against high school talent. How would he fair against college players? Can you imagine him against NBA players?
  17. Nick Ramirez would probably be the best comparable. Early round pick, but not at the top of the draft. He lasted 103 at-bats before getting a bump to A-ball. The problem is we just got a new scouting director and GM so the past is of no use. We don't know how either is going to treat new draftees.
  18. There is a reason I typically pick 1st row over a specific section. Sometimes I would rather watch from the OF then look at someone's butt the entire game by the dugout.
  19. Arguing? Umm? I don't think anyone can draw a conclusion after as little as 30 at-bats. A few 0-4 games and his stats are nothing special. I'd think one would need at least 100 at-bats before one could really decide how he is doing. I don't agree with this at the Rookie club level. It's usually pretty evident right away when you're advanced for that league. We skip guys out of there pretty fast with success. As far as where to play him, skip him to A+. Correct me if I am wrong, but the promotion is usually Arizona to Helena. Clark had 200 at-bats before a bump to Helena from Arizona. Then a few months in extended ST this year before going to Wisconsin. He was a HS kid though.
  20. I agree that you can't have Erceg and Gatewood on the same team at this point. It's also probably true that Erceg needs to be moved up from Helena at some point in the not too-distant future. I wonder if Erceg skips Wisconsin altogether and joins Ray in Brevard? I imagine he goes to A+ if he continues to mash. If he flattens out to say a good but not great .270/.330/.500 he may not move up this year. That isn't bad, but to skip A ball for A+ would be quite aggressive unless he is absolutely destroying at rookie ball. Hopefully Gatewood continues to hit and he can go to A+ sooner rather than later. Won't hold my breath on that though.

  22. Brandon Diaz? Isn't he the CFer right now?
  23. The problem with Maker is whether he is 19 or 23 he isn't even dominating HS talent. I'd expect a 5 year HS player like him to absolutely dominate and he doesn't.He is an NBA draft prospect that can't even dominate a bunch of kids who have no NBA future. Even worse most scouts don't even think his ceiling is that high best case scenario. Honestly the Bucks just selected a guy who is going to take 3 years minimum to make an impact and that impact probably isn't more than a rotational guy. It's like they saw a sliver of hope he becomes something great and are hoping to catch lightning in a bottle.
