  1. Dak is a good QB, but like 25 QBs in football, he isn't elite. I don't know that Dak, or pretty much any other non elite QB, can actually lead a team to a Super Bowl win. He wouldn't catch as much heat or attention if he didn't play for a team like the Cowboys.
  2. Yah, if it was as easy Mahomes would have a few. Yet he has one win and an absolute buttkicking in another Super Bowl. Not everyone can play in a weak division and get carried by a defense year after year. Tom Brady led an offense to 20 points or less 15 times in the playoffs, about 33% of the time. On the flip side Rodgers has done it four times (three of which were 20 points), and Mahomes has only done it once. Going by points allowed, Tom Brady has only experienced a non Top-10 defense along side him three times.
  3. I can understand keeping most around because they want Rodgers back...but I would like to think we could punt the DC and Rodgers wouldn't care one bit. Actually, you'd think after how his career has gone with poor defenses he would want Joe punted into orbit.
  4. - Best place to eat before going in is the parking lot. Nothing like good tailgating food to fill you up. - The food inside sucks. If someone was asking me before hand the answer is to simply not waste your money eating inside for, at best, cafeteria quality food. If you asked me this question after already entering, tenders and tots are usually a pretty good value. -If you are planning your trip ahead of time I find the OF Loge to be one of the best spots. This is because it is incredibly easy to get first row and have a really great vantage point of the game. LF is great because you get to watch the first base line…though afternoon games are going to be sunny. Terrace level can also be an incredible value, but you have to be careful and check sites that show seat pictures (aviewfrommyseat is clutch) to make sure a railing isn’t in the way…the terrace can be awful for that. -Things inside the park…Brewers Park is honestly pretty darn boring outside of the game. If you have kids there is the great area on the first base side on the field level, there is also an area for smaller kids up in the terrace (I think). For adults, you can watch the game in your seat…or, well, that’s it. There are hardly any areas to even relax away from your seat. If you are someone that needs a bar to relax at or away from the busy concourse, you will need to buy club tickets. That has a middling bar in the concourse and some seating. -Hidden gems. There is a fairly new Marriott hotel that was actually built just south of the ballpark a few years back. It’s a bit closer than the Best Western most would be familiar with. It is great for the morning after with an IHOP and McDonalds right next door. Things to not do: - Don’t go into the stadium through the home plate gate…it’s always overly crowded and takes forever. Just walk over to the RF gate or to the LF gate. - Unless you want to tailgate with the beautiful view of the front of the stadium…flat out don’t park in the preferred parking on the home plate (main side) side. It is a nightmare to get out of and all traffic gets forced eastbound or westbound onto the interstate…I can’t remember which way specifically. Memory makes me think you have to go westbound. The preferred parking beyond the OF is easier to get out of and you will have the option get on the interstate whatever direction you want. Also, it isn’t that much farther to walk if you just go to the general parking just beyond that…though that parking lot is bigger and usually longer to get out of.
  5. Sure, that’s pretty much the recipe for any Super Bowl winning team. It is why Rodgers never won a second Super Bowl. Despite all the draft resources used, they could not build a decent defense. Without a good defense, we couldn’t grind down teams with our run game because we were always in shootouts. The average points given up in playoff losses has to be close to be 35+ points. Heck, the two worst performances by Rodgers’ offense in the playoffs were arguably wins in the bay the special teams had miraculous choke jobs to blow the games (blocked punt for a TD in 2021 and the onside kick recovery against SEA). There is a reason the 49ers have seen two Super Bowls since then with average QBs and have a chance to do it again with the last pick in the previous draft. Defense…defense defense defense. Rodgers had a Top 10 defense three times. Lost giving up 51 points, won a Super Bowl, and gave up 37 points to a team throwing the ball 8 times. I feel like the 49ers luck is due to end. The 49ers defense is stellar, but Hurts is really good. I’m not very confident Purdy can game manage against a great defense enough to outscore Hurts’ offense. Purdy has done well limiting turnovers, but I he seems due for an INT or two…and their offense is likely to struggle as is. I think the Eagles are the worst team for the 49ers left. If they can pull it off, I like their chances in the Super Bowl, regardless of opponent.
  6. Brock Purdy is the 4th rookie to lead a team to the championship game. Big Ben - #11 overall Joe Flacco - #18 overall Mark Sanchez - #5 overall Brock Purdy - #262 overall None of them managed to make the Super Bowl, Purdy would be the first if he can do it.
  7. I’m not sure they are frauds…they are what they are. A slightly above average team, just like their record.
  8. His K-rate is cratering, his walk rate is going to the moon, His fastball was the slowest of his career in 2022. I don't think we missing out on much. At 34 I doubt his velocity is going to come back. He also really would be much of a workhorse either. More you pitch him the more his velocity is going to take a hit and be less effective. His ERA wasn't woefully different 0-1 days versus 2+...but his advanced stats show he was pretty crummy on little rest. I forgot about him quitting last year...dude is definitely a douche bag. Kinda odd he turned down more money from the Padres. I suppose the Royals park is just as pitcher friendly. I guess he prefers to play for a bum team where he can collect a paycheck without much stress and can likely stay on the MLB team all year regardless of performance. Pretty sure he quit on the Yankees because he wasn't assured a spot on the postseason roster.
  9. I am sure they don't care at all. Neither did the Rams/Chargers when they moved to LA. Money is money.
  10. I think you have to pick a position for Molitor and that is what he is for these kinds of rankings. Either A) the one he played the most or B) the one he played at during his prime years. Which either way is Third Base. You can't win both the AL and NL awards and you can't exactly win a gold glove at multiple positions in a single year. Yes, I know, I thought way over the top on that debacle.
  11. Kinda one of those rankings that shouldn’t exist because no one is deserving of the honor. I think Weeks is a bit harshly unloved because A) people love to rip on guys over defense and B) he got an extension that people didn’t feel he lived up to. I think the injury issues unfortunately plagued him in his career. The way fans treated him towards the end was kind of sad, considering his contract was hardly that large. Sometimes I feel like we should be thankful any player wants to be in Milwaukee for over a decade. He was a great homegrown player player. He was an absolutely electric lead off hitter for years. I feel like this comes down to nostalgia. If you grew up watching Ganter you probably pick him, if not, you go Weeks.
  12. This is one of the first guys I think of when I ponder "If this guy is on an MLB team, I sure don't see why Trevor Bauer can't be."
  13. LOL, I almost mentioned this when he reminded me Gard only missed the postseason once. Then I thought of 2020 and then I remembered the simulated 'ship. Wisco fans were clinging to that thing just about as hard as UCF fans clung to being national champions that undefeated year.
  14. Woodruff: 5/$125mil Adames: 0/$0mil Burnes: We can’t afford him.
  15. You are correct. I accidently took note of the COVID year...which every team in basketball missed.
  16. The worst comparison is you comparing basketball championships to football championships like the difficulty achieving those is actually comparable feats. His only tourney success is with a roster still mostly Bo Ryan guys. Now that the roster is solidly his and only his he has missed the tourney half the time.
  17. If Purdy leads the 49ers to the NFCCG and plays well to get there and plays well in that game (regardless of result)…he should be the starter. They definitely shouldn’t trade either going into next year, period, regardless of who they let start the season.
  18. Babe would ask to be put back in his grave after seeing the price of hot dogs and beer at the stadium.
  19. Greg Gard feels a lot like the basketball version of PC. Tries to win with defense and brutally stale/boring offense. Like PC, I don’t think Greg Gard is a bad coach…but I don’t think he is anything special. I don’t think he should be on the hot seat because he does nicely in the regular season (pretty sad results in March though) for what he has. The football team might be able to attract an exciting coach to come in, but the basketball team isn’t doing that. You won’t find an obvious upgrade even if you don’t like him.
  20. They kinda seem destined destined for what happened between 2008 and 2011. I think they will be able to steer clear of flirting with 90 losses. Depends on the pitching though. Eric Lauer is also a FA after 2024 and so is Adrian Houser. That leaves Ashby and Peralta as your lead veterans and very little behind them. If they just accept they are trying to rebuild, they may just let the team bomb like they did in 2016. Hopefully they find the pitching when they trade some guys. Just like the last mini rebuild a competent front office and having lots of valuable trade chips goes a long way.
  21. Much like with Hader, I don't think the Brewers have any interest/ability to pay him. So they didn't even bother asking him. If they talked to him now it went a little like this: Brewers: Hey Burnes, lets talk a potential extension. Burnes: Looking for around $300mil+ Brewers: This is why we didn't ask, have a nice day.
  22. Some day I hope the Christian Yelich optimist crowd can actually celebrate being right...but at this point it is a bit troubling to think Yelich has some drastically high ceiling going into his 30s. Ian Happ has been better for 3 years now.
  23. That is kinda my point. The minor leagues aren't exactly rich with talent, especially talent even close to helping the MLB squad. Those guys in Wisconsin etc. could be darn near a half decade from being notable big league contributors. Ashby and Small are the guys we would need to be impressing to avoid some kind of rebuild. I doubt they would do this. Considering the chance of winning a world series in any given year is like 4% that would surely become one of the worst decisions in Brewers history to lose out on trading them. I could see it if it was like Fielder in 2011 and we only had one of these guys set to hit FA...but a small market trotting out 3 All Star level guys to give QOs to after the season would be pretty wild.
  24. Honestly, I don’t think there is any possible way to avoid a rebuild. The only way is if they extend Woodruff…without that our pitching is about to take the hit of the century after the year. Our minor league system is a lot of offense and very little pitching. Peralta is good, but not a big time workhorse. Unless Ashby becomes a TOR I just don’t think the pitching is there. We better hope we can get some really promising pitchers from trading Adames/Burnes/Woodruff. We will need it. That being said we have a lot of promising prospects and some young players. Plus massive trade chips to help get more guys in fold. Not to mention all these guys leaving means we will have payroll credibility when needed. I am guessing we will be back in the mix as a promising team after a max 2-3 hiatus.
  25. Dodgers with two World Series appearances (1 win) and the Mets will appear once (1 win). The Orioles, two appearance with a title. This is definitely going to happen.
