  1. That possibility had not dawned on me. Maybe so. I want to believe Ohtani is on the up and up. These conflicting stories from he and the interpreter are causing me to have some doubts though. Something doesn't seem right.
  2. So after reading the latest, Ohtani says it was theft and that he never transferred money or had any knowledge of it taking place. I'm not wholeheartedly believing that right now, but let's just assume it's true. Then Shohei really needs to figure out how to look after his finances a little better. If someone else was able to transfer money out of his account and he didn't notice 9 transactions of $500k, that's pretty wild to me. Most if not all of us would never let anyone have access to our account, and would notice an unauthorized deduction of any amount.
  3. This must be incredibly frustrating for Mitchell. The guy deserves better luck than what he's had thus far in his pro career. Hopefully he keeps his head up, recovers and rebounds well and then has much better health in the future.
  4. I honestly wish he hadn't even suited up today.
  5. I love how they were just complementing the defense and showed the obvious foul on the replay. This is ridiculous.
  6. They're letting JMU get away with anything they want right now.
  7. I don't really buy that theory, I just love the memory of that game.
  8. What a horse crap foul call to give Kansas free throws after that block.
  9. One of these years I need to bring back my old tradition of taking time off for the opening round. Used to be such fun to have multiple tvs going, friends over, bloodies in the morning, wings for lunch. Now I just fill out a bracket and check after work. 7-1 so far...thanks Nevada.
  10. "People complain that pro athletes make a lot of money; but what they don’t understand is that we need a lot of money because we spend a lot of money." Patrick Ewing
  11. And the thing of it was, the storm that was anticipated ended up not really amounting to much of anything whatsoever, at least in Madison. So I was a little frustrated by it. I recall northern WI got absolutely dumped on from that one though.
  12. Last season. I was in town and Dad and I were going to go to that one.
  13. Now there’s a name I haven’t thought of in awhile. Used to be my go to when I lived off fish hatch in 01
  14. That was smooth from Chucky
  15. Wow what a win. Beat the refs without Wahl, Winter, Crowl. Just an absolute ballsy win. I am so impressed.
  16. This is what I'm hoping they are able to do, provided they can feel good about getting him up to, I don't know, 60-70 pitches. With the way Miley pitches, that should be good for about 4 innings, and I think that could be fine for a couple of starts with a planned tandem. Of course there's some risk in that, there always is.
  17. LeRoy Butler is another that comes to mind.
  18. I hate the cubs and he's a cub. So for me that part is really simple. I always liked CC but I don't anymore. Many have brought up the wondering what the disconnect was between CC and the Brewers FO, and I also wonder but I'm not going to speculate.
  19. Agreed. I know I wouldn't have made that decision for several different reasons. Not the least of which being the fact that there's no amount of money you could pay me to live in chicago.
  20. The only 2 I know of are Rickie and Jemile.
  21. That would make him back into a hero though. Bleeding the rival cubs for top dollar while running them into the ground. A secret agent behind enemy lines. If only...
  22. I'm curious to know the nature of the buyout in this contract. Most common scenario is the buyout occurs no matter which side declines the mutual option. But, apparently that is not always the case.
  23. Thanks, I'd missed that. Hope he makes it back and is effective.
  24. Interesting seeing the mentions of Knebel here, but no mentions of the fact that in 2022 he ended up with a tear in his capsule. Not sure how exact of a comparison Knebel's 2022 injury is to Woodruff's in terms of severity but they are both capsule tears. Has anyone heard if Bird Dog's going to try a comeback or is he just done?
  25. What an aggravating game.
