  1. Real glad I didn't go to this one, between how the game played out and the fact that it would be a sauna in there. Thursday will likely be my one game of the summer while I'm back visiting in Wisconsin and I'm hoping for a better time than what the fans got tonight. It at least will be cooler.
  2. I have an iphone and have been using safari. Would you suggest I use Chrome instead?
  3. Last night I was bored, watching the Astros vs White Sox game and this JJ Matijevik for Houston got his first career HR. Naturally they wanted to get the ball for him, from the fan who caught it (which he did give) and they interviewed the fan about what he got and how the negotiations went for that. What struck me as bizarre was that they shot him down on his first two requests. First was he wanted a Verlander signed jersey. They said no way. Then he wanted a ball signed by Gurriel. No chance. He ended up getting some tickets and passes to BP. I thought what in the world. They have tons of jerseys and balls and heck Verlander is sitting right there just chilling. What is so difficult about making that happen? Evidently Houston later in the game realized they were coming across as cheapskates. Kid eventually got the Verlander signed jersey, an Altuve signed ball and 6 tickets/BP passes. Good trade.
  4. Last night I monitored battery usage, I went from 25% to 4% in the couple minutes it took me to read the 1.5 pages of the Cain DFA thread. Unless I'm connected to a charger or am about to be, I'm going to stay off the site on mobile. I've only ever encountered one other site that hits the battery like that and it was some news site I don't recall anymore. I'm guessing it's from the ads giving it so much to process.
  5. I've disagreed with all four check swing calls tonight. Whether that's my bias or not, I don't know. Twice I've thought the Reds went and they said he didn't, and twice I thought it was wrong against Milwaukee.
  6. Also, I certainly don't want to put the whammy on Lauer here, but he's looked great through 2. Locating off speed pitches for strikes and really keeping the Reds guessing. Here's hoping he keeps it up.
  7. Catching up on DVR. That was a nice play and terrific throw by Rowdy to end the 1st.
  8. I bet ol' Coach Cooper would have loved that inning.
  9. I hope everyone stays safe tonight. This one could be tough to follow for awhile with all the emergency alerts taking over the broadcast.
  10. I love it but I've noticed when I access the site on mobile my battery plummets faster than the fuel gauge on a '79 Lincoln Continental.
  11. I enjoyed Night Sky on prime, I hope they make a season 2.
  12. After watching djoctagone's video post yesterday...I couldn't have done that on a good ankle in my 20s and I wasn't in bad shape. THerefore, Dr. Cheesehead declares Willy ready to play! ?
  13. I wonder how many were in the “penalty box” waiting for an available gate. That happens nearly every time I fly into O’Hare. Sitting on the tarmac for a half hour after a long redeye flight with screaming babies isn’t my cup of tea. Granted of course I know better than to do something so stupid, I can however understand fantasizing about it in that scenario.
  14. After reading this I just had to take a look at Carpenter's splits. Career .830 OPS vs Brewers. That's about .400 lower than what it seemed like from the bad memories.
  15. One small thing I miss-and I don’t know if this is something mods can still do here or not, is: they used to edit the game thread titles after the game, adding the final score and sometimes a quick bit about what was noteworthy about the game. I always appreciated that. From a nostalgic standpoint, I miss the old Link Report logo.
  16. My first thought was that he'd come up and come through with the bases loaded and 2 out in the 8th. The order was set up for it although it obviously didn't happen.
  17. Man I love this thread. It's just about Whoa Solvdd worthy. For all the hot takes, I just had no doubt, probably an hour and a half or so ago, that Keston would come through and be the hero today. It's just so perfect. Came from lunch just in time to see him deliver the crow via gamecast.
  18. I really had no doubt Henry would come through for them. That’s the way it seems to go when I have time to watch live.
