  1. Not crazy at all, to me at least, since that's what you wanted to begin with. If they'll let you do it, you're getting that extra week you wanted, and also getting a small pay raise.
  2. Same with me, although I usually only make it to one or two games in a summer so I usually go ahead and splurge for one beer to have with the peanuts I brought along because it just hits the spot.
  3. I was there for his MLB debut with my Dad and my best friend who passed this spring. We scored good seats about 12 rows back, a couple feet up the first base line, and my friend and I were pumped for the Gallardo's debut. We paid enough attention to prospects to know Gallardo might be special. Dad was willing to take our word for it. We were probably the first on our feet applauding the successful debut when he got taken out. Throughout his Milwaukee career Yo was always a little frustrating. As Reilly mentioned, he threw a lot of pitches in those innings. It seemed like so often he'd get 2 strikes on a hitter and then the AB would just go on and on. I think that was largely what led him to such a shortened career. It also was frustrating that he stunk against the cardinals. Nonetheless I was always a big Gallardo fan. He had some great games, and some really cool moments for the Brewers. From time to time I still crack up thinking about the shaving cream pie he got after the walk off double Reilly mentioned. He was so relentless on teammates with the sunflower seeds, he had it coming and he knew. One other thing about that debut game against SanFran in 07. Someone here might remember this. Bonds hit a double off Yo in that one that was just absolutely inhumanly crushed. It hit low on the wall on the fly and it looked like it got maybe 8-10' off the ground.

  5. Where did the cuss filter on this forum go?
  6. Just for fun, I went ahead and looked at the 2015 post-season prospects ranking, where Clancy being Clancy (and by the way thank you for being Clancy, Clancy) was the outlier with Suter at #1. Here's the top 26 from that poll, with each player's career to date WAR and Brewers career WAR (per baseballreference.) #1 Orlando Arcia 2.8, 2.4 #2 Brett Phillips 4.8, 1.3 #3 Jorge Lopez 0.5, 0.2 #4 Trent Clark (Grisham) 9.0, 0.6 #5 Gilbert Lara highest level: AA .593 OPS in AA 2022 #6 Josh Hader 9.5, 10.5 #7 Kodi Medeiros highest level: AAA 10.8 ERA 2022 #8 Zach Davies 9.6, 8.2 #9 Tyrone Taylor 4.0, 4.0 #10 Michael Reed -.1, .2 #11 Devin Williams 4.9, 4.9 #12 Clint Coulter highest level: AAA .910 OPS for STL affiliate in 2022 ? #13 Monte Harrison .1 (miami) #14 (tie) Demi Orimoloye highest level: AA in 2021 .635 OPS #14 (tie) Cody Ponce -0.7 (pit) #16 Jake Gatewood highest level: AAA (Angels) .700 OPS 2022 #17 Adrian Houser 2.8, 2.8 #18 Marcos Diplan .4 (bal) #19 Tyler Wagner 0.1, -0.3 #20 Wei-Chung Wang -0.4, -0.9 #21 Victor Roache highest level AAA in 2018 #22 Nathan Kirby highest level AAA 2.74 ERA 2022 #23 Jorge Orgega hasn't played since 2018 #24 Cy Sneed -0.4 (hou) #25 Yadiel Rivera -1.2, -0.3 #26 Brent Suter 5.2, 5.2 Thank you and good luck to The Raptor!
  7. I used to love having 2 tvs for NFL Sundays (game of interest on one, NFL network on the other) and the first 2 days of March Madness.
  8. Well, have you tried fried morels yet? Because if you have not, all I can tell you is don't rule it out. I used to pretty near involuntarily puke if a mushroom got in my mouth before then. Now I have a mushroom soup recipe that's been passed around and around with rave reviews.
  9. Hopper I was the same way for the first roughly 28 years of my life, so I understand where you're coming from. But then for me it gradually turned from gag reflex to love. Morels were the spark, portabellos fanned the flames, and then there was no turning back.
  10. Over the weekend I created probably my best homemade pizza ever, and happened to be using naan bread for the crust. The thing I did differently is I cut up I believe 6 cloves of garlic and slow and low cooked them in olive oil until tender and sweet. Topped the pizza with the garlic, some minced pickled jalapenos, thick slices of Johnsonville Italian meatballs, and thick sliced mushrooms. Drizzled the top with the garlic oil from the pan. It was ridiculously good.
  11. I don't disagree but that one was way too obvious to not be called and not be irritating.
  12. Wow I didn't realize Troy Vincent was VP of football operations. He was the Packers hometown draft slight that bothered me most. Even more than Chambers.
  13. It would give the pundits something to really jibjab about if the Pack somehow pulled this one out today.
  14. This is not the most relevant point to mention regarding Cal Eldred. But I have this recollection of hearing in maybe '93 that part of Cal's routine was, on the day he was scheduled to start he would eat nothing but a giant stack of pancakes. I always thought that was a pretty ridiculous thing for an athlete to eat purposefully. I will always have a soft spot in my heart for that 92 Brewers season. It was such a special season in so many ways.

  16. Funny stuff. If you'd tried that in the Cheesehead household you would have likely gotten a good taste of either Ivory soap or the back of a hand.
  17. Not bad ideas, but I'm not trying to pretend I'm at the game. I just like the sounds of the game more than I enjoy having commentators jabbering away, telling me what I already see. I don't envision myself creating a stadium candle anytime soon.
  18. If it's still an option, I somehow missed it last year and this year but thank you for letting me know. I will be searching for it next season!
  19. I have long wanted for a sports broadcast option with no commentators at all, just the field mics and let that be it. That would be so incredibly wonderful to me.
  20. Sveumrules do you post in gray font or what? It’s a pain in the ass to try to read your posts. I have to highlight them in order to be able to kind of see them.
  21. I sure enjoyed yesterday's game after work. Nice to see Mitchell and Urias both have a big game, and Lauer put a really nice finish to his season.
  22. That's what I was thinking but I couldn't bring myself to actually say it.
  23. I'm planning on streaming these last couple games after work with the WTMJ audio as usual and just enjoying baseball for baseball's sake, and listening to Mr. Baseball.
