You ever watch other games and see what the passing attacks look like across the nation? It isnt this hard for most teams. -
Im not old enough to remember Mike Samuel or Matt Schabert. Wasnt allen evridge benched after two games?
-
Its not that big of a deal, theres easily 150+ better qbs throughout college football right now. Probably a few better high school qbs at least at the national powerhouse high school programs.
-
I literally played with a more talented QB while in D3. I'm not asking for Favre or Roders here.
-
Badger homers are absolutely priceless. There are many large problems right now but to act like they're fine at QB is nuts. How many inaccurate passes and balls thrown right to defenders does it take?
-
All clear upgrades.
-
I shudder to think what a bad QB is then. I think its been decades since UW has had a worse starter.
-
I said they cant cover anyone. After today I still think that.
-
That doesnt change that he is bad. When a recruiting class is highly ranked but the top couple guys are busts, the ranking doesnt really matter.
-
How is it even an argument at this point?
-
I mean 2019 was headlined by two complete busts in Brown and Mertz.
-
Yeah that worked well this last offseason... But I guess they can try again next year since they arent really trying to recruit anyone out of high school.
-
Not still taking bets are you?
-
The secondary might be worse than I thought. They may not win another game this year.
-
-
Well thats kind of my point. In my eyes I am a fan. In the view of others who maybe did attend Madison and do donate to the program, I am not. I want them to do well but this year they are bad. I am happy they fired the very bad coach they had.
-
I mean not in this response, but in another one I noted that even though I dont live in wisconsin any longer, i do keep close tabs on them. I'm an alum and former player of a different UW, not Madison, so im not a doner or anything and have only attended about a half dozen games in my lifetime.
-
They could be good for a year or two coming up. I would think the offensive line will get better with the young talent they have right now getting more experience, add in a transfer QB and the offense could maybe move the football.
-
Hey Im not here to give any extra or undeserved credit to others on the team. That defensive line was man handled vs illinois. The nee middle linebackers have been disappointing. The offensive line is talented but pretty young across the board and there has certainly been struggles. TE is a negative in part due to injury. The transfer filled secondary cant cover anyone. They might make it to a bowl game this year if things fall right.
-
I mean Ive watched the games and dont think that at all. I understand he put up good numbers vs northwestern and new mexico st but the offese struggled big time vs illinois and washington st (and obviously vs ohio)
-
I played for a lesser UW school in the UW system and actively follow them and watch the games even living out here in pacific time zone. I dont like how they've been run and am glad they fired the coach.
-
Oh i understand he's been bad. He's not transferring up. He's been in the program four years, if you cant secure a starting spot by then and get benched in favor of underclassmen its time to go.
-
Hey good for him, if he's not gonna be given a starting spot on a line this young and this bad, he should definitely look for different opportunities. Time to leave the sinking ship.
-
In other football news, Logan Brown just entered the transfer portal. Honestly about two years too late. Four years on campus, three starts.
-
Lol! I must've forgot about the signature performances against new mexico st and northwestern. Those games really mean a lot.
