  1. I was way too pessimistic with this.
  2. In all seriousness, it was a great interview and I appreciate that Mark A gives the insight that he does. It's not going to be a fair fight, and they aren't going to have the resources other franchises do when you sit in the 30th largest market and there is a very good chance that the next owner will spend less.
  3. Anyone have the Uecker call on Turang's homer?
  4. I mean, isn't one of the fastest growing states by population?
  5. Opening Day isn't even a sellout anymore, probably a bad sign for the franchise
  6. It's like the rookie stripe in NASCAR.
  7. MVP: Urias CY Young: Woodruff Rookie of the Year: Mitchell BA Leader: Mitchell (.346), will qualify HR Leader: Urias (47) ERA Leader: Woodruff (qualifier 1.98), Williams (min. 50 IP 0.67) SO Leader: Woodruff (279) WAR Leader: Urias (11.6) Breakout(s): Urias, Mitchell, Strzelecki Disappointment(s): Burnes, Contreras Bold Prediction (s): Can't think of any Record: 146-16 Playoffs? WS win 4-0 over BAL Buckle up!
  8. They used to do that at Miller Park too. I remember you could order a brat "County Stadium style". 10 years ago the concessions were top notch.
  9. I will never be one to give the Twins credit for anything but I do have to admit Target Field does a much better job with concessions.
  10. I guess but those players usually have options, and you can't really put Huira anywhere in the field.
  11. Teams have 13+ pitchers on a roster these days. Most pitchers aren't throwing enough innings anyway, only in the most extreme circumstances is no one available.
  12. Exactly this. It's the big leagues, there should be no run rules or forfeiting. Finish the game with a pitcher on the mound and never give up at bats.
  13. Finally a rule change I am 100% on board with! Though I'd be fine with them taking it further and just making it 10 runs up or down. A position player pitching for your team once every few years in the most extreme circumstances is fine but 6+ times a year is nuts. I don't want to waste time seeing little league pitching, especially in a game I paid to attend.
  14. So I live in Las Vegas and have cable TV. I find it kind of funny that I can watch just about every Badger basketball, Marquette basketball, and Badger football game on TV but for MLB and NBA games I need a subscription service. It just doesn't make a lot of sense.
  15. Another day, more incredible news for this program! They could win the Big Ten in a year or two.
  16. Well they'd go from never winning the division to never winning the division, is the streak up to 30 years without a division title yet?
  17. Absolutely Yes! Gotta make sacrifices if we're not gonna outspend other teams. I'd rather it not be a talent sacrifice.
  18. What a program turnaround in just a few weeks!
  19. Yep, that is the often under reported downside of the transfer portal for players. Or transferring down to FCS or D2 or D3. I knew a teammate that had that happen. Had a Wisconsin scholarship as a 4 star recruit, two years later could not win out a starting spot in D3 (After he had transferred to FCS and left that program too). Transfer portal doesn't work for a lot of guys.
  20. Draft lotteries are stupid. Either have a reverse draft order or don't. Adding variance doesn't change the fact that the worst teams are in best position for the draft. There are three options that work, reverse draft order based on previous season finish, completely randomized draft selections every year regardless of previous season finish, or complete rotation (i.e. pick 29th this year, 30th next year, 1st the year after, 2nd the year after, and so on).
  21. They lose two games by a point and would have a chance to beat any of the four playoff teams. This is why it's good they are expanding the playoff.
  22. Don't kid yourself, the SEC is as dominant as ever and that's not going to change anytime soon. They have a massive geographical advantage that no other conference can compete with.
  23. Yeah because there's no way #5 ranked Alabama could compete with anyone in the top four. I'm sure they'd be big underdogs. Seriously, there's about fourteen teams that would have a reasonable chance against TCU, Ohio, and Michigan and I think some would even be favored over TCU.
