  1. The Fox Valley metro area consists of over 450,000 people. This is a higher population than the Green Bay metro area which consists of around 320,000 people.
  2. Since you love QB rating so much, I just decided to pick the guy with a higher QB rating, which would be Allen.
  3. This is a bizzaro Badger discussion on this forum. I mean it's a miserable awful football team with a bad QB, most people aren't very high on them right now, but the Brewers go one year with a winning record and no postseason and it's time to blow it up, fire stearns, etc according to many who post on this Brewer forum.
  4. The number just went up to 250. I forgot to take into account receivers and backs at other schools who played QB in high school. And Braelon Allen. If they just direct snapped to him every play and let him throw maybe five times a game it'd probably improve the offense.
  5. Out of the ones who play. He's probably 4th or 5th on the depth chart at Ohio St/Michigan.
  6. Easily nine of the 200+. I did forget to mention there are a lot of good HS QBs out there as well, especially the ones at the power programs committed to SEC schools. I'd take a dozen of them over Mertz as well.
  7. It's college football. There is no individual statistic that means anything when you are talking about a sample size of 6 or 7 games this year and everybody playing different opponents. It's literally a sport of film study to evaluate players. There is not going to be a concrete answer to Badger offensive struggles that can be proven by numbers that point to individual players. This is especially true when much of the blame falls at the hands of poor offensive line play. I can't point to a statistic that tells me Furtney is a bad option at RG, I just know it from watching him play.
  8. Irrational? You know this is the worst season in decades right? They're going to miss a bowl game, they've already fired the coach. Hopefully this is rock bottom after struggling the last couple years but it could be dark times ahead. I'd rather not see things go the route of Nebraska.
  9. I just don't like the direction this program has gone. The players are much worse than they were when they were good. I think they have a terrible QB, an underachieving offensive line, and they run a poor offensive system. As I've said though, I'm really happy they fired the coach. I look forward to the upcoming transfer portal that will hopefully clear this roster a bit while new players are brought in.
  10. I agree it would probably take the league tripling or quadrupling in size to find an NFL roster sport for Mertz.
  11. I take it back, 150 is too low, I think that number just went above 200. I'll take all D2 QBs and easily all the WIAC QBs in D3 now too. I cannot wait until Mertz announces his trip to the transfer portal after the season.
  12. Debatable on McCutchen. He didn't play enough to have any meaningful defensive stats and I don't think he could hold up playing every day in the field anyway. All the others played other outfield positions because they weren't the worst outfielder on the team.
  13. Remember everybody, LF is usually everybody's weakest outfielder. You could do worse than Yelich out there.
  14. Remember everybody, LF is usually everybody's weakest outfielder. You could do worse than Yelich out there.
  15. Given the massive differences in talent, types of offenses run, schedule. QB rating comparison doesn't mean much.
  16. Yeah how much of that is due to northwestern, illinois st, and new mexico st? Lets see where he ranks by the end of the year.
  17. Yup thats why 8/30 should be the maximum that get in. Regular season really doesnt mean much when its 5th place vs 6th place in NLCS
  18. Man sports in state of Wisconsin have just been fantastic the last couple months
  19. Should've fired the coach and blown it up after the second straight chokejob in the playoffs last year
  20. I dont think anyone disagrees that this is a bad football team in many ways. Mertz is part of the problem though. Look around the country at how well teams pass the football these days. I think UW has some talented receivers too. Outside of Furtney, there's some talent on the O-line. Plenty of teams pass the ball more proficiently with worse protection.
  21. Bleh, what an awful NLCS we have coming up this year.
  22. You act like we run the option or something.
