  1. I don't like that I have badges on my profile stating that I've visited the "Minnesota Twins" forum, or posted in the "Minnesota Twins" forum, or other related false accusations. I wish to remain completely separate from everything related to Minnesota Twins baseball.

  3. It's also a reason why it's not worth it to bother signing 16 year olds. Takes way too many years to develop and they'll hit year 6 and minor league free agency in their early 20s. If you get a great one sure that's fine, but mostly they just litter the bullpens and benches of rookie league teams and appleton/carolina. We've had what? Like 3 of them actually make it from our DSL to the majors. The system needs to be overhauled and nobody under 18 should be on an affiliated roster.
  4. Used to be only like 100 games a year on tv on MSC. Pretty much no day games. Can always buy a ticket or listen on the radio.
  5. Two out of three years with games lost due to labor disagreements. Might be a while before you see sold out games in Milwaukee again. I know I can't imagine paying for tickets again anytime soon. And all of that on top of the all-star game fiasco last year. What a terrible commissioner and group of owners.
  6. I agree that no one goes worst to first in baseball. But what NFL team has gone worst to first?
  7. I'm right there with you. I'd rather the Brewers leave than to spend one more penny of taxpayer money. Let some other city empty their coffers for a team with an estimated value of over a billion dollars and an owner with an estimated net worth of $700 million. Then enjoy travelling to Chicago or Minneapolis next time you want to watch a major league baseball game.
  8. On a related note for UWM, I wonder if there's another team that's ever dropped as far in the KenPom rankings as they have over the course of the year since their initial ranking somewhere in the #120 range. Currently sitting #326. But still higher than Green Bay which entered today #341st.
  9. How about instead of a warning track, it's a warning moat?
  10. What if a team screws up the lineup again or moves their DH to a position (i.e. if backup catcher was DH that day and starter goes down in first inning)? Pretty reasonable chance one of those two things happens within the next ten years. I believe the rule is; if the DH moves to a defensive position, the pitcher is inserted into the lineup in the spot of the injured player and then the pitcher has to hit (since the DH can only be used for the pitcher). There is no more DH for that team for the game. Right, so that would lead to a pitcher hitting again.

  12. Exactly. The Packers lost to the Bucs on Jan. 24, 2021, and didn't announce they were moving on from Mike Pettine at DC until late in the afternoon of Friday, Jan. 29. I remember plenty of teeth-gnashing when he wasn't fired immediately the Monday after the game. That ended up turning out OK. Did you know the defense ended up ranking exactly the same this year in points and yards allowed as they did last year?
  13. I agree, this is why when a part of a football team becomes this terrible, this becomes more of a head coaching issue than just blaming things on one coordinator. They went all-in, had talent up and down the roster, star QB, and lose in the divisional round mainly because punt and field goal team, while all special teams units struggled all year. And it wasn't just bad like bottom third or bottom 5 in the league. This might be the worst overall unit top to bottom in a decade in the NFL. I honestly think a loss like this should be the end of the head coach's job. Especially with back to back years of horrible playoff choke jobs.
  14. Not even the bridesmaid this year. Even if they would have squeaked out a win, they're losing to TB or LA next week. This is a very poorly coached team and the entire staff should be fired.
  15. Right, it’s a pretty subjective matter. Even if one just looked through the eyes of someone who is a fan of every team evenly in the state, I don’t think it is anywhere near 2011. In my opinion. Yeah I guess since the Super Bowl for the 2010 season was played in 2011 that year makes sense. I kinda forget that sometimes when looking back.
  16. The only way this year ranks #1 or even in someone's Top 5 is if you are a bucks fan. The Packers year was just plain depressing because they lost the NFC Championship again to most people and the Brewers year, while nice, wasn't overly special since they have started stringing together extended success. 2011 should honestly be the runaway winner. You had a Packers Super Bowl win, which I would argue may have been a more special/impressive run than the Bucks. I mean, the expectation for the Bucks was to win it all...anything short was a failure. I mean without a half crippled Nets team to face they might not even make the finals. When that Packers team went into the playoffs they were a WC that had to win every game on the road. Rodgers was still unproven in the playoffs so the result for that year was wide open. You then had the Brewers awesome division title and NLDS win, a Badgers Rose Bowl appearance, Badgers Sweet 16. Of course, that is just my thoughts....obviously this kind of thing is really subjective to what you care about as far as the sports go. I mean, the title is Best Wisconsin Sports Year. Yeah if you're not a fan of the NBA team that won the championship in that year that's from Wisconsin I can see how you wouldn't think this year was all that great.
  17. It’s the 85 scholarships. That’s a lot. Even FCS schools can offer 65 scholarships. If parity were their objective (it’s not), drop the scholarship limit to 50 and teams like Alabama and Ohio State couldn’t stash 4 and 5-star recruits on the bottom of their rosters. I think it's more the nature of the sport. How are you going to stop a team when they have bigger and stronger lineman? When they have faster perimeter players? Not impossible if a team catches enough breaks, but a lot more unlikely than a single basketball game where a team hits a million threes.
  18. Yeah that's pretty much how football goes at every level except in the NFL where the league manipulates rosters to promote parity (i.e. salary cap, reverse draft order).
