  1. This is a good point. Sure the blowouts in the Semifinal games have been disappointing but it's not like the #1 and #2 teams are blowing out the #3 and #4 teams every year. In the seven years we've already had two #4 teams win national championships.
  2. I was pretty worried about this year after the offseason QB drama, a poor pre-season, and poor effort in week 1. Figured if things continued down that path the Jordan Love era would have started midseason. Instead many players have stepped up, several newcomers have had phenomenal seasons, and the QB is having one of his best seasons. It's been a fun year.
  3. Any team cancelling a game the day of the game with at least 11 able bodied players should be put on probation.
  4. If Baltimore learned how to punt or take the points instead of going for it every time, they win. It's ok to kick the football sometimes.
  5. You understand we also acquired a pretty good player in this deal right?
  6. I mean as a half serious joke, sure. In reality, punting there deserves a prison sentence.
  7. Time to repeat as Mayonnaise Bowl Champions! It's officially bowl season!
  8. I think they have some talented receivers but with a bad QB and an O-line with pass protection problems, receiver doesn't matter at all.
  9. Not a chance. Game management decisions including punting, going for two, onside kick, etc are 100% the head coach decision.
  10. I went to this game. It was a good win for the Badgers. The student section might be the biggest embarrassment in all of college football, any division.
  11. To add to that. They twice didn't have enough players on the field and had to rush someone on last second (once on punt team and once on field goal defense). They also had a good punt that should've been downed inside the 5 yard line but let it bounce into the endzone for a touchback.
  12. I know everyone loves the new super punter and he's done a great job but the packers don't punt often. It's about 3 a game. By cutting Scott they did cut a great holder and that is the majority of the snaps for a GB Punter.
  13. I don't think Jordan Love was given the best chance to succeed with the lack of protection he got and generally poor 3rd down play calling. It would have helped immensely to have Bahktiari healthy as he could play LT, Jenkins could move to LG, and Runyan to RG, effectively upgrading three positions on the offensive line. Even with Rodgers healthy, this offense is not putting up great numbers so far this year and line health is a big reason for that.
  14. Obviously not what you hope for from Love in his first start but a winnable game if they could kick field goals or field punts. I've always wished during the Rodgers era, that the Packers would invest a little in a reasonable veteran backup QB. They type of guy who could lead them to a win in a game where a large amount of points aren't needed.
  15. Gotta love the fact they just extended his contract into 2028, I believe....aside from 1 season where everything broke their way and they had an unbelievably soft schedule, he has done nothing to make their program markedly better than a big ten also ran. This is really accurate. He’s basically got them as the same perpetually 7-5 or 8-4 team that doesn’t win big games and is headed to the Music City Bowl each year. No different than they were under Jerry Kill or Glenn Mason. I guess he’s an upgrade over the Tim Brewster types they’ve had there, but they treat him like he’s Urban Meyer…. I mean it is Minnesota. If a season ends in a bowl game it's a successful season.
  16. Why is it that there is a type of vaccine that's available in other countries but not in this one?
  17. The initial ranking of putting a 1-loss Alabama team at #2 essentially guarantees two SEC teams in the CFP, regardless of who wins between Georgia and Bama in the SEC title game. It's pathetic That's despite Bama only having one win against a team currently in the AP top 25 (#15 Ole Miss, who just lost to Auburn) and who likely only has one more game left on their regular slate against a top 25 program (Auburn)....but sure, rank them #2 ahead of 3 other power 5 conference unbeatens, an undefeated non-power 5 team ranked 2nd in the AP, and 6 other 1-loss power 5 schools that all have played tougher competition to date. What.A.Joke... Yes, that's why it's an invitational and not an actual championship run by the NCAA. There is no fair way to break a field of 130 down to 4 when only 12-13 games are played by each team. One day I'd like to think there would be a similar system used like in every other level of the sport above pee-wee.
  18. Seems pretty reasonable, especially given the very low risk Covid posses him.
  19. It wouldn't be that surprising. This team is pretty good and it would be nice to have #69 back this week. A good team that's spent a year and a half developing a first round QB should see it pay off when he's called into action.
  20. Yeah the bad ones do that, that's why they're picking at the top of the draft and they keep taking new franchise QB's year after year who end up being "busts" after a few years because they get sacked a lot and lose a bunch of games.
  21. The “as many shots at the Postseason as possible” is the right approach. In baseball, more than any other professional sport, the regular season tells you who the true best teams are and the Postseason is a tournament where quite literally any of the participating teams can win it. This postseason, we're about to have an 88 win team be crowned champ. We had an 83 win team win it all in what, 2006? The wild card Nationals won it in 2019. Take as many shots as you can. Stay competitive year to year. Get in the tournament as often as possible. The Nationals and Braves both got off to bad starts but played great in the second half. I would argue the postseason performance is a better indicator of how good each of those teams were compared to how they played in April and May.
  22. There is a lack of truly dominant teams in this level of the sport. Most postseason series are between two 90something win teams separated by a few games over the course of six months.
  23. Good win, you can get around not having a top receiver suit up when you get quality offensive line play and can run the ball like they did. Outstanding job defensively, especially in containing Murray in the pocket as much as they could. One of the best games I can remember from GB against a running QB.
  24. They recently had a three man rotation early in the year with Furtney, Lyles, and Sampson rotating in for a series here and there at both guard spots and center. The last couple games they've scraped that, rolled with the starters, and sampson has put on an eligible number and lined up at tight end some. Could be part of the reason why the transfer happened now since Lyles' playing time on offense has dropped to 0.
  25. It's generally not that important of an offensive position compared to QB or offensive linemen. It is a stat collecting position though so it appears to have a higher influence than it does.
