  1. 100% disagree. This is not the NFL, we do not suspend or forcibly take money from players for playing the sport poorly, even if it results in injury. There was obviously no intent to injure and given the rules of the game, he was called out, which looked like the correct call to me.
  2. Was re-signed. Like to a coaching role? His player page still lists his status as released and he hasn't pitched this season.
  3. I believe IIRC taking the Cincy job had a lot to do with being closer to his family.
  4. Wasn't Jorge Ortega released last year?
  5. I disagree that Medeiros was a bust. He brought back Soria in a trade, and Soria was a huge part of the shutdown pen in September that they rode to the playoffs. He has not looked good so far for AA Birmingham in the White Sox system, though. He had an ERA north of 6 in September/October last year and was a human trash can in the NLCS too. Soria was pretty terrible for us and the fact two months of a reliever is all our former #12 could net us is a solid sign he was a bust for us. Not to mention he was pretty expensive on top of that. I mean, sure, he was apart of the shutdown pen. He wasn't the shutdown part of it though. He had a FIP of 2.93 as a Brewer
  6. I disagree that Medeiros was a bust. He brought back Soria in a trade, and Soria was a huge part of the shutdown pen in September that they rode to the playoffs. He has not looked good so far for AA Birmingham in the White Sox system, though. Whether or not a guy was traded before it was apparent he was a bust does not make him less of a bust. At this point Yamamoto looks to have a much better future.
  7. Has a team ever made up a 0.5 game deficit with 84 games to go?
  8. A main reason for this is our rebuild ended much sooner than anticipated, if we would've had the four or five years of losing before becoming competitive again, our roster would have more homegrown talent.
  9. Is Renegade not a closer enough song?
  10. Was it even Counsel's decision? He did get ejected before Claudio came in to pitch.
  11. Something that hasn't been noted yet, Claudio has been massively overused so far, he literally leads all of baseball in appearances, not all of which have been the one or two out LOOGY variety, plenty like today where he's in to try and get through a whole inning.
  12. I don't think he'll be anywhere near as successful as Keon Broxton.
  13. But not the greatest 9th inning comeback, that's a record held by the Detroit Tigers against... The 1901 Milwaukee Brewers https://sabr.org/gamesproj/game/april-25-1901-tigers-magnificent-batting-rally-caps-10-run-comeback-al-opener
  14. In 2018, he may have had a sub-Uecker average in 89 plate appearances, but was still 1.6 wins above replacement. Overall, he had 4.2 wins above replacement in Milwaukee. As a 4th outfielder, not conventional in terms of his offensive profile, but he provides excellent defense. WAR is absolutely meaningless in 89 PA's, especially when most of it comes from defense (and especially when it's from an outfielder).
  15. Zach Davies currently leads the NL in ERA
  16. Another win and another great pitching performance! Chacin limited the damage and only allowed two runs. Corbin Burnes with back to back quality outings! Guerra notches another save!
  17. Well one thing I am 100% certain of is that you won’t see a series sweep tomorrow. I believe there has been one game postponed in Miller Park history, if I remember correctly, it was a scoreboard malfunction maybe 15 or so years ago. So if they win later tonight and that happens again Thursday it's possible.
  18. He's 20 and very aggressively placed in High-A ball after a respectable season in Appleton as a 19 year old. Looking at fangraphs, the scouts love him and he's currently in the top 100. Are you literally "just not seeing it" as in, you only occasionally browse box scores? Or have you watched him play a lot and have legitimate concerns about something? (Honest question, since I've watched him considerably less this season as he no longer plays games 20 minutes from my house.)
  19. He is currently hitting over .200 and likely will also be hitting over .200 in June.
  20. Thames has a 17/1 K/BB ratio Let's not jump the gun and give him every start at first base.
  21. 21 games. We have played 13% of our schedule. And even with everything being terrible apparently, and facing one of the toughest schedules out of anyone, they had a virtual tie for the best record in the league entering today.
  22. It's one thing for a young pitcher to struggle, it's another for him to get absolutely crushed. I don't like sending him down, but there really isn't a choice here.
