  1. Think he'd still have value as a setup man for the regular season but I agree I wouldn't trot him out for any more postseason/closer appearances.
  2. This is seeming eerily similar to a Jeremy Jeffress situation. A possible reunion in the future that benefits both parties?
  3. Are you able to sort what pitches Jayden Dubanewicz is generating those whiffs on?
  4. I need Brock Wilken's Z Contact/Z Swing% to improve to promote him. It's almost to the point of a passive approach. The lack of contact in the zone is reminiscent of Oliver Dunn but at least Wilken gives you solid defense at 3rd. I am really encouraged though by his ability to get on base. Really hoping some of the raw power starts to turn into game power his EVs are lower than I expected they would be.
  5. Yikes prime start to tack on some insurance and 3 straight Ks.
  6. Ok now lets throw Yophery (close to back end T-100 prospect with room to grow) and the 33rd pick into the equation as well ($2.9 million slot) the trade most certainly is not "fine" for someone that profiles as a back of the rotation arm.
  7. Priester might have been highly thought of but production has never materialized for an extended stretch. Poor command and middling stuff (per TJ Stats) isn't a great combo. Hopefully they can unlock something but this is the danger of trusting a small sample size most are learning about. Right now this one looks like a absolute bloodbath and total fleece of the Brewers. Can things change? Sure, but probably not as likely as we would like. Strides are always possible especially with the player dev the brewers have... but the initial face value of this one is ugly and that cannot really be argued.
  8. Yoho either needs some velocity or better shape to his fastball to keep hitters honest. The changeup while good is something guys can just sit on and spit on if the command stinks.
  9. I am ready to call a spade a spade. Ortiz is a bum with a capital B. The first part of last year was a mirage.
  10. Don't think we have a starter they'd be interested in besides Freddy. Which unless things go super sideways before the deadline I am not all that interested in dealing. The return of Ortiz and DL give me pause working with Baltimore. They are one very savvy front office.
  11. I am gonna make a prediction that Abner takes closer duties at some point this year. The stuff is just elite when the slider lands for strikes.
  12. Yes totally agree. That is why I said it makes losing players palatable. Still sucks to lose talent and fan favorites because we cannot compete financially or fit them in the "budget" regardless of how they perform after.
  13. Selfishly I am a bit thankful he is not outright dominant like he was here. From personal accounts I know he seemed to have quite an... ego, and it is getting checked right now. Not to mention if he was normal Devin NY wins that trade by a landslide. Being organ donors for big markets is never fun but it is more palatable when you don't get taken to the woodshed in the transaction.
  14. While I like Mayo more than most. I wouldn't deal Mis quite yet. Mis is the only pitcher in our system that has a ceiling above a number 3. The recent strides he has shown with command makes me optimistic. Maybe he has figured it out. He sure had long levers to work with and I am glad we didn't automatically shoe horn him in relief. I think he has more helium coming soon. I would rather trade less for a distressed asset with untapped offensive potential at SS/3rd. My take Ronny Mauricio.
  15. Uhh now is the time to use Payamps is it not... why Anderson I feel like that is a lot of work in a short amount of time
  16. Brewers seem to believe that those worthy are guys with very unique traits. Letson for example gets the most extension off the mound out of anyone in the minors. They also really like guys with unique vertical approach angles (stuff that makes an average fastball sneaky good with unique shape) and of course high spin rate outliers. The lab thrives with that kind of clay to work with.
  17. Luis Peña is swinging the bat so so well. Third double of the day in the clutch too. He is a top 50 prospect in all of baseball. Planting that flag right meow.
  18. I am gonna clue some of you guys in, but for right now (at least) on ballysports.com you can watch every single MiLB game free. I don't have much good to say about Ballys and their Brewers broadcast/app. But this is absolutely sweet. You can watch 4 games all at once and best of all it is free with a quick sign up of phone number. I have been really pleased so far and now I cannot complain when there is nothing to watch.
  19. I am starting to believe we have 3 top 50 prospects in all of baseball in Carolina right now. Wow. Made being as advertised isn't even the story here. How good have Peña and Payne been? I'd wager they're flying up prospect rankings. Huge speed and power tools with both.... but the mature approach they have and the swing decisions??? They're both making has me dangerously optimistic.
  20. Historically the Carolina league is pretty neutral to pitcher friendly.
  21. 3rd base is a black hole and was a massive oversight by the front office. Would have been nice to have gotten a legit player for that position. Capra and Dunn aren't gonna cut it. I also have serious serious doubts about Durbin there too.
  22. Priester is far closer to Adrian Houser than he is to Corbin Burnes....
  23. Arnold man I don't know. This is by far the worst trade of his tenure here on its surface. Shane Smith is better than Priester and we had him on our roster the whole time. But decided to give sports to Elvin and Connor Thomas instead. Two back to back baffling decisions. And I am extremely pissed about losing that pick and its bonus pool slot.
  24. Yessir! It is gonna be one heck of a fun summer in Zebulon. That roster is absolutely STACKED.
