  1. Don’t think that has anything to do with it tbh. I think pitching development is our strength so you grab as many guys as you can with the traits you like and hope a couple pop off.
  2. Coming off elbow surgery in May gonna guess Episcope is a big underslot deal but still extremely interesting tools to work with when he’s back. Showed out against wake forest when box score scouting.
  3. Sure I too think that’s most likely but I was wondering if there was a player anyone liked in particular in case we do go the Pratt route. Bauer is an obvious one and the sheer excitement and buzz would feed families. Though extremely unlikely.
  4. If these guys pan out, Ginger might be director of amateur scouting by then!
  5. Who are we rooting for to get picked for the big swing?
  6. Would be fairly disappointing to not see them take a big swing ala Pratt. Especially with all the perceived savings we have gotten. It’s possible we didn’t save much though and it’s a fools errand to try and predict. Gut says we saved a good chunk.
  7. This fat head Cubs fan on X keeps saying that we’re having *another bad draft… so you gotta feel pretty good about it so far. Depending on how much we saved I’m hoping we take a big swing like we did with Pratt.
  8. I’m curious to see what the bonus pool looks like. Funny that we took a NJ traits prep arm in the spot of the Levonas comp pick (a NJ traits prep arm) probably got a rock solid, great number can’t imagine it’s overslot
  9. Damn the rays are killing it once again.
  10. Don’t lol that’s ridiculous just saying the team on the clock is not spoiling
  11. Anyone but Bodine at this point. All these mocks have me cautiously optimistic we have other players in mind.
  12. Think the Levonas pick will be super safe and open up bonus room. I need to be talked into Bodine. I do not see anything special there and would be extremely disappointed. Given the likely savings at 68.
  13. Really hoping Bodine isn’t the pick. Hoping he’s off the board before we get the chance even.
  14. Would be over the moon with Fien I have liked him a ton since early in the draft cycle.
  15. Maybe one of the first times in Skenes' career where the other guy has clearly better stuff. Skenes of course is the better more complete pitcher but I mean the Miz was absolutely eye popping today.
  16. The talent is obviously there. He is a power threat every AB. He needs to cut down the Ks. But that clip showed why you take a chance. That's a tough pitch to get the barrel to. Will he be non tendered? Most likely but maybe they can unlock something but solid depth especially if Rhys gets hurt or traded,
  17. It's not if it's when. You don't see sustained success with the second highest chase rate in the league. High swing rate and poor discipline is not a good combo. It's an unsustainable power surge too. It is driven by a 15.3% increase in pull rate on fly balls (40%, tied for 13th highest) and a 10% increase in barrel rate on those fly balls, leading to a 13.1% rise in home run-to-fly ball rate. While he’s made mechanical adjustments the EVs remain avg. Pitchers start sequencing to stop him from pulling he's neutered, At least this will only be one year since Tucker most definitely is going to get a bigger deal than what they will pay,
  18. Armstrong is not this good of a hitter. Not even close. Awesome fielder and baserunner not this good of a hitter. Wait and see.
  19. I cant believe this guy still hasn't regressed yet. Hopefully after the all star break he comes crashing back to his paltry peripherals. Pitchers need to start punishing him for his awful plate discipline.
  20. We caught him tipping pitches. That glove flutter out of the stretch has been a breaker everytime.
  21. Think Mikolas is tipping pitches when he shakes his glove it’s a breaker. If he doesn’t it’s a fastball. Someone get this to the crew ASAP.
