  1. True it is more a commentary on the caliber of prospect they are after seeing them in the actual system. Just a hypothetical kind of like IF Chourio was draft eligible in 2022 he would have been a top 3 pick in the draft.
  2. Also a good dose of copium to make you all feel better. Bitonti would have easily been a 1st round pick this year after one year of school. Pratt would have as well. Adamczewski would have been in the round 3-5 range Letson likely the same. 2023 has a chance to be a generational class. Everything will be OK even though I am a harsh critic of this years myself. There WILL be pop up arms from 2024 that show in the top 30 it is just how the Crew does business. 2025 is gonna be real fun too.
  3. Folks are allowed to criticize the overall process. No one is saying that these players will fail, be stars, or fall anywhere in between. No one knows and if they do I'd love that crystal ball for many reasons lol. The process overall just seems bad on the surface. I'm grateful the farm is not a perennial cellar dweller like the late Melvin years. But I believe there are some legitimate gripes to how they tackled this years draft. I just hope next year is much better planned for because as you said it is much more stocked with talent and the pool should be even higher with the small market competitive balance pick and Adames comp pick (which is sad that it is a foregone conclusion)
  4. That amount easily could have made a difference. With other guys that were available at the top couple picks. 🤷‍♂️ It changes the whole calculus of things. When you reach for a player like Payne the expectation is to go balls out on some blue chip guys. They arguably got one in Meccage but whiffed on Levonas.
  5. Agreed I bet we see some pop up arms because ya know it's the Brewers. But hard to be happy with this haul especially with the abundance of pool money they had. The team better lock in for next year with what should be more money. In other news Tod Johnson to the IL with a shoulder strain... from reaching on Payne in the first. I'm just kidding, but I do not understand that pick at all now. I really hope Payne proves me wrong, but I do not see the vision here with that profile. Not using the overage is really baffling me too.
  6. They are done?!?! Embarrassing. Not using the 5% overage shows either poor planning or just cheaping out. Gross gross class. Jesus Made be your namesake and turn this water this year into wine baby.
  7. I really dislike the Payne pick now.
  8. Man seems like he took advantage of the situation. Jeez that is a ton... good for him. This draft class.... I am gonna be nice and say I'm quite disappointed. Thankful for the international class we currently have. No Nunnallee (I assume) is a kick in the balls when that was the prime consolation to whiffing on Levonas. No Malamazian and it gets gross.
  9. Welp now we wait and see if anything is reported.
  10. I thought so too just thought I throw that out there for the discussion. I trust Callis about the rules more than anything. Draft guru lol.
  11. 9 mins to go. Also Taylor Blake Ward on twitter said the comp pick from Levonas comes following the 3rd round of the 2025. Not a pick after where he was selected. Curious to see who is right. If that is the case it is a MASSIVE whiff and difference in slot money
  12. Has that been reported that he is not signing? He is another class and a half above these other guys just throw him the bag and call it a draft. Got to be another 2 signings with that much of the pool left. Maybe Wech takes a hometown discount.
  13. Come on Nunnallee 30 mins big guy! Pro ball is awaiting!
  14. Who besides Monasterio? And he is awful too. It is a shame what injuries have done to any semblance of positive momentum for the offense.
  15. Joe Ross is absolutely rotten even second time through the order usually the third though is when it bites him. Pull him and never let him start again. Junis role ASAP.
  16. The market was awful for a team like the Brewers. Especially with how random October is and the injury issues on the current team. Lot of reasons to not throw away legit prospects.
  17. This is a rental arm that has an extensive injury history. He has been middling as hell throughout the majority of his career. This year he seems to have tapped into something, but I am not losing sleep about missing on him. Side note it is hilarious to watch MLB network try to hype this up as a BIG deal. What a snoozer of a deadline overall.
  18. In hindsight and given the market the Brewers would have been much better off holding Burnes till the deadline *ducks
  19. Only for Charles McAdoo that is definitely a conversation the Brewers should have been in. Mona is not gonna cut it.
  20. IKF to the Pirates is extremely annoying. Don't love our current bats as is and I really hope we add one. Doubt we do.
  21. Ross is solid for about 3 innings and then gets found out. Much rather him in the Junis role than start.
  22. Unless his market completely falls out under him I have absolutely no interest in giving that kind of compensation for a rental arm. Especially one with a long history of injuries and back issues this year.
  23. Preller is so dumb lol. I'd call him to see if he'd give a king's ransom for Devin Williams Salas or De Vries should be on the table with these returns!
